"your starting hero power" - working as intended, why should it be the other way round? If you want to double shadow power on your priest just craft velen?
Nah wouldn't work in the particular context I was playing around with.
I mean, if you Justicar + Soulpriest then you get the 4 damage, too. I just don't see why Shadowform wouldn't give the analogous result, given that similarity.

You don't understand how these cards work together.

No, I think I got it. What I wanted was the "Deal 4 damage" hero power (or, hey, why not 6?) without having to keep a minion alive.
There are plenty of heropowers intentionally not working with Justicar.
That being said, I think Justicar Trueheart is one of the coolest and most well designed cards in TGT, and hands down the best legendary in the set. She is boosting slow decks, and is a true staple in control warrior, control priest and midrange pally, without being OP.
As for shadow priest, you just got a very nice deck in dragon priest, so you should be fine that other new priests need to wait in line.

Yes, I understand that Justicar shouldn't have an interaction with every hero power, shouldn't be cumulative, and so on. But it seems like it wouldn't cost much in design terms to have it work with the seldom-used Shadowform--even if they altered Shadowform so that casting it when already in Shadowform did something else, like say double the damage from your hero power for one turn.
In the context of Justicar, 4 damage per turn doesn't seem outrageously OP given that it takes an extra card and then puts it in the same range as Justicar + base Priest or Warrior hero powers.
Anyway, I guess if I want to screw around with a (mostly) creatureless deck, it's going to have to be Freeze Mage.
Dude,it only works with your ORIGINAL hero power. It isnt that hard to understand
I understand what the text says. I understand how it works in the game. What I'm questioning is why it works that way.
Because there is already another card in the game which does what you would like it to do - Prophet Velen - and why would they make 2 cards that result in getting the same effects (would be the proper answer here, wouldnt it?).
No, it doesn't have the same effect, because Velen is this ability (while it lives) + a minion.
Shadowform, like Justicar's battlecry, is permanent.

True! On the other hand: I cant test it cause i dont own justicar - but with justicar, shadow form isnt permanent any more, is it? Once you converted to shadow form and you play justicar after that, you should get the +4 healing again, dont you?
Nope, you just keep Shadowform, 2 damage. Justicar's battlecry does nothing, the same way it does with other hero powers with which it isn't designed to interact.
2 new archetypes for one class in one expansion? I dont think that ever happened...maaaybe brm dragon/patron warrior, but dragon warrior was still control.
Priest have 2 very different competetive builds (dragons/control), and a few more I am pretty sure some freak took to legend as well (velen/mind blast, inner fire combo decks etc. That is totally fine imo.
Yes, shadow/aggro priest would be cool, but the problem is that so many priest cards have healing synergy rather than damage synergy. They try to add a few damage priest cards every expansion, so it might show up down the road! Is it even fully explored yet??
Shame, really.
I bring life and pffffffffffffff!
Jaraxxus, Majodormu, Shaddow form, double Justicar, taven brawl madness, spelleater stolen madness...
