Rank 14 so far with Demonzoo with around 70% winrate. 55 wins to go till golden warlock, after that I can play whatever I want :) I might try to grind it out in the next few days.
I'm done for now. Haven't played in 2 days because of the same Classes and decks on ladder 24/7. At R8 atm and will probably stay there for now until Blizzcon announces changes to this game. The grind is not fun at all and I regret trying so hard last month.. Hope to see some of you in a couple of months again.
I'm done as well. Been playing off and on since beta, but I never actually tried getting a good rank until the season before last. Got to rank 1 but never quite made the final push, and I've been deluding myself into thinking I need to get it ever since. I don't know what the meta was like before, but nothing is worth trying to battle through the horde of secret paladins and druids. This is the least amount of fun I have ever had playing any game, and the only reason I've been doing it is because I set a goal. Well, fuck that goal. Good luck to the rest of you.
Only deck that works for me atm is Control Warrior. If i play something else i will just win 2 and lose 2 over and over again. Tried Handlock, Ramp Druid without Combo and Midrange Hunter.
Sitting on Rank 10 for the last 2 days now because i can't be asked to play any more Control Warrior (I only play it when I'm back to Rank 10, 0 stars so i dont fall back to 11) . I'm just too bored of this deck :(
I am hoping to try to get to single digits this season; this is my goal. I know it's not hard for some of you, but being married and barely having time between that and 2 jobs to play a game (I have an hour lunch and play when I can) takes its toll. I will say that I climbed quickly with Maly mage, and continue to win games with it and Fel Druid (The exact deck being scrutinized by KRUPSTONE today, as a matter of fact!). Legend is, in the end, my overall goal, so of course I will be pushing to get there like I do every season.
P.S. Can't wait to see the new card back; hope it is amazing!
Going to try and make my first real push for legend this season. Work and two kids tends to keep me very busy, i recognize at a certain level this is just me letting that be an excuse, and I think I just need to write it down as a goal to really commit myself to do it. Was rank 12 last season with face hunter early and dragon priest once I got high enough. Planning to use the same method. Ultimately, if I get at least rank 5, I'll be happy and I'll hopefully have learned some important things for the long term push.
This is more or less exactly my situation/what I wrote (check page 6 for the comment lol) minus the two kids. I was 12 last season as well bud. Hit me up if you want and friend me; we can be each other's inspirations!!!

Woah, woah, woah there fellas! Are you using these forums to help each other get better at the game?!? This might be against the hearthpwn tos. This site is for imaginary petitions to nerf cards, we're going to need a moderator to rule on this.
I am excited as the wife goes away this weekend for 3 (count 'em, married peeps, T-H-R-E-E) whole days recruiting...ALL DURING BLIZZCON! I have the weekend off thanks to training at my job, and will be home alone with the dogs, and my Blizzcon Virtual Ticket, and Hearthstone....could life get any better??
Bahaha! If you are trolling, good one! The rank 19 player that cant understand what makes a tier 1 deck good. But wait, there's more! He spends time playing a game he doesn't like and uses the cop out out that all bad players use, rng. Thanks man, I needed this. You should be talking to a shrink though, not faceless people on a forum for a game that you don't even like.
What an idiot. I don't even know where to start, so I just won't.
I was like you once, in that I played simply to get the card back...not because I hated HS, mind you, but because I simply enjoyed other games more; WoW, D3 RoS, CoD, etc. As far as clearing quests, might I suggest simply playing non-ranked? That will get you quests and you don't have to worry about ranking or the ladder.
Secondly, if you feel the game is a waste of your time, why are you even playing it? If this game is such a waste of your time, why are you dedicating yourself so whole-heartedly to getting the gold? I say this because no game is worth getting so upset you absolutely despise the game. Time for an extended break, perhaps?
EDIT: A note about Tempostorm: I don't know much about their escapades lately, however didn't Reynad put that team together? He atleast spearheaded it (captained it?) last time I knew. I ask because I'm pretty sure he's a better HS player than many, and if he compiled that, I wouldn't put him down so quickly, since he pioneered quite a lot for HS.
EDIT #2: That deck is very strong, and is absolutely not garbage. I don't seem to recall your name at the driver's seat of any decks that are tier 1, however since you seem inclined to state that you've done such a feat, can you humor me and enlighten the rest of us as to this miracle deck[s] you speak of? I'm not being facetious, just very intrigued!

Reynad is the owner of Tempostorm.
Regarding the Aggro druid deck, it is a good deck, many people reached legend with it. People are aware of it, so it is less good now, but still a top deck.
I'm only playing it because I am deeply invested into the game in terms of cards/money, and once you fall behind in the free gold/cards it will cost you a lot of money to get back in again; probably so much that I'd just give up entirely. Now whilst that is of course an option I have open to me currently, I'd rather have it as an option rather than have it forced upon me because I can't compete due to lacking cards etc.
I have basically every card. Free gold buys about 200 packs when a new expansion comes out. Basically it means I can buy the whole set each year without having to spend huge amounts of real money. Once you stop playing, you miss out on so much gold because it adds up very quickly. If it wasn't for that, I would not be playing this for very long time.
My enthusiasm for the game has entirely gone though. Once it became clear to me that what you do makes basically no difference to whether you win or lose, it literally became just like playing a slot machine.
Ok, well I'm sorry to hear for your loss of enthusiasm. I dislike when that happens to me of any game (recently happened to a game or two I had been playing), so I can completely understand your position there. It seems you feel the game to be broken in the sense of too much RNG, am I correct in my understanding of your point? What do you feel could be done to make this game better?
I feel the Druid fel deck (I call it Fel Druid :-D) does well for what game mechanics there are, just like other decks of its caliper, such as face hunter, secret paladin, and so forth. I feel that rng can be a determining factor at times, but not all the time. Sure you may not get the ONE card you needed to win that ONE game, but how many times have you gotten a card to win and glanced over it because you simply won that game? As a culture we as humans tend to remember the negative a whole heck of a lot more than the positive.
RNG can also level the playing field at times as well. If you set up your board correctly for lethal, it isn't the same as waiting for that savage roar to be drawn and hope you get it for lethal otherwise you lose next turn. These types of things happen quite often, and is what makes Hearthstone quite unique in it's design and playstyle. Other card games (Magic, Yugi-oh, etc.) may have similar rng-%'s, however I don't play them so I unfortunately cannot make a comparison.
My thoughts, though, are if you are truly looking for a game if wits that you can see EVERYTHING, and plan out turns quite a bit ahead and have the least amount of RnG as possible, might I suggest chess, or to a lesser extent, Connect-Four? I would suggest poker however that is in it's own league.
I am normally rank 5 guy but this season I am somehow allready at rank 6 (playing Kolento's Aggro Druid) so it may be worth going for legend. I have never done it so I am pretty excited wheter the competition at higher ranks is really that signaficantlly harder or just slightlly harder...
What do you guys think about this ?
Aggro druid is a good deck, definitely legend worthy. On the other hand, rank 4-5 is always a gamechanger, the difficulty increases greatly there.

Yes I can feel a change at rank 6 now. Since there are probablly way better players than normally at the end of the season. My winstreak has ended and I am fighting very slowlly :D But I am 3 ranks ahed of my friend who hitted legend last season and he is heading for it again. (He's playing Hybdrid Hunter)
You should definitely try, I would say you have a good chance if you keep it up, but your advantage over your friend does not really matter that early. The real test comes later.
Few times legend but i stopped laddering this season. As a control player i am not going to fuck with army with secret brainless paladins. Rank 7 is fine, close to sea giant reward.
It is not salty statement. Just a cold calculation. This meta is beyond madness and i truly respect control players who still trying to reach it again. Wish you luck ladies and gentlemens.
I wish luck even to secret paladins - even though most of them bm'ed me or wished me cancer after losing(happened to me 3 times today). I hope that one day all of you will be become skilled and polite players!
Currently pretty sucessfully fighting off the aggro noobs and their fancy legend cardbacks with my greedy Dragon Warrior.
R11 to R9 in about 2 hours (games take forever but the winrate is quite high). I doubt that i will ever hit legend but Rank 9 on the 6th of the month is quite good for my standards.
I'm finding a simple mech mage is laddering better than anything else at the moment. Got up to rank 8 in NA with it last night. Will see if I can push it to 5 this weekend and switch over to druid I think depending on what I am seeing a lot of.
Every few days I try to ladder with Shaman again... and usually run into 90% secret pally....
Its funny because if I am laddering as a Tempo mage, ill hit the standard opponents, Hunter, Dragon Priest, Secret pally, with the occasional tempo mage and druid tossed in. But I swear if I switch to shaman it is all pally
I have not decided if I am going to be a try hard this season and stick with tempo mage and bludgeon my way towards legend or say screw it and just play shaman and see how far I get, probably will go with the latter.
PS I no longer hate Secret Pally, its just a bad matchup for my shaman decks. (would not complain if MC was nerfed to like a 6/3 though...)
