I remember a year and a half ago when a priest deck with no legendaries was viable (because I Thoughtstole every wallet warrior I saw). It might be more players who just blindly follow the meta and become this massive swarm of goblins for everyone else to beat, but what I really think it is is Brode and co.
We are already invested in the game, whether with money or time. We are completely at the dev's mercy. It has been two years and no bonus deck slots, and I guarantee that when they are released they will cost $. We get so many expansions with just bad cards, and old bad cards are ignored with no chance of being made better. If this was MTG or Yugioh with thousands of cards it would be fine, but this game has less cards in 2 years than either of those games releases in half a year. They also refuse to nerf bad cards that they made, with their solution being to sell you more cards that may fix the meta. There hasn't been a healthy meta since the game left beta testing.
I think the most infuriating part is the dev teams total apathy. They laugh at our misfortune and set up a new cash grab that we will fall over each other buying since we had no forewarning to save gold. This is the same problem WoW has. It shouldn't be good that the devs are already working on the next expansion as the current one isn't even complete yet. Maybe they should be putting all that effort into the current one to make it so more than 10% of the cards are good.
tl;dr Yes the game is less fun and Brode is to blame.
Oh, you wanna play traditional Druid or Shaman? Too bad, big minions don't work heck because MGRL and then FACE IS THE PLACE SMORC.
"Craft better decks then."
That is just saying "Play Anti Aggro or another Secret Pally / Face Hunter / Freeze Mage" because the other player is playing that and if you don't, well boohoo.
The game is far less fun now.

Eh... when was this game not about a few top-decks playing rock-paper-scissors? Ah, the time when an absurdly OP deck was wrecking everything else (miracle rogue, uth/buzzard hunter, huntertaker, mur-lock, giant mage). The top pallydecks of today are not even close to that level.
A lot of gloryfying of some amazing meta of the past that never existed in this thread...
And there are plenty of new, interresting decks and tech being worked out right now, aggro, control and midrange ones alike.

You realize that putting anti-aggro into your deck when you're having trouble with aggro decks is called teching your deck against the meta, and is an intrical part of playing card games. That's why netdecking only gets you so far.
Yeah, I've been playing for 2 years. Recently, I just lost interest in Hearthstone. It has to do with the rng factor and low skill cap. Once you get to a stage or legend, there's really no point of going further. That means I have to rely on building different decks to have fun. However, there are only so many decks you can build. Currently, I just rank myself up to rank 5 in 1-3 days then quit for the rest of the month. Even that's quite a chore now.

Meta is the most healthy I've seen, and I've been playing since March. I encounter Paladins (secret, midrange, anyfin), rogues (oil and raptor), mages, (tempo and freeze), Druids (Aggro midrange), Warriors (patron/control/fatigue golden monkey), shamans (just Aggro), all types of Warlocks, dragon and control priests, and a few hunters.
SEEMS PRETTY DIVERSE TO ME.
And if you're wondering if the game is still fun, the answer is yes. I say this because when I click "play" I'm usually paired up against someone else, which leads me to infer they wanted to play too.
in all seriousness... THE SALT IS STRONG WiTH THIS ONE. once you get up to rank 5 it becomes midrangey. Before that Aggro is the way to go because fast game times and win streak chances are worth playing sub optimal decks. And if everyone is playing Aggro the games are even faster.
I just feel like the Hearthstone players are way too boring and tryharding. I see no fun in that and they are freaking everywhere
Yeah. It's the players. Kids probably who just copy a net deck and play it into the ground. It's like with face shaman now, you NEVER saw it three weeks ago and now 60% of my matches are a face shaman. There's just no more creativity. No one wants to build out there own deck to compete they just want to win with whatever is deemed "the best." It's boring.
I don't think it is the game that is changing, but you. Hearthstone is---and has always been---extremely linear. 1-drop to 2-drop to 3-drop to 4-drop to zzzzz... When you are beginning you don't know very well the cards, and you don't know the strategy. So it can be fun to figure out if you should play Mad Scientist or Sorcerer Apprentice first. As you get seasoned, more and more decisions that you had to make before, now are automatic. And consequently the game becomes more and more an auto-pilot, which is basically how I feel Hearthstone is for me now.
The fact is that this game was designed for children, or as a dumbed down TCG, and the pure fact that many people come here to complain that their aggro decks don't work anymore shows that large part of the users want that. Although it is possible to have a strategical game of Hearthstone where you need to think to win, the game was simply not designed with that in mind nor with the purpose that this style of play be dominant (power-wise). Many (most?) games make the most difficult to use champions/weapons/strategies the strongest. Hearthstone does the opposite. (Which leads to the absolutely cringe-worthy situation of seeing professional players use decks that even a 7 year old could play almost as well.)
I played it for a year and the flaws becomes more apparent after a longer time. Its a popular game but I wonder how many of the long time players who play less and less. Hopefully many so that Blizzard change some of their policies regarding the game (fire Ben maybe?).
Why is the answer always that Ben Brode, specifically, is the issue and he needs to be fired? This is a logical fallacy based on the fact that he is the face that you associate with Hearthstone. It lacks understanding that there is a team behind Hearthstone and a big company behind them that also plays a part. In fact, your entire post shows a ton of naivete about how things work in general.
For example: *More deck slots (its retarted how long that has taken) (Like laughably) *An active balancing of cards. You need a lot of testing before releasing cards if they should be balanced. A lot. Blizzard doesn't have the capability of this. Latest is when Ben said that they didn't see how strong Dr 6 would be. *More formats. *Don't push out expansions with 150 cards when only 15 is playable. *Better AI. (again laughably bad) *ETC
ETC is already in the game and he ROCKS!

English is not my native language, so, with a high probability, mistakes were made.
I've played since the day GvG came out and I'm having more fun than ever. The number of viable decks has doubled and the number of over powered win conditions has gone down. Brawls are fun or not, depending, but their existence has improved my enjoyment significantly. The only thing I've enjoyed less and less is opening packs, but that just goes to show I've played long enough to have most of the cards I will use.
The enjoy-ability of Hearthstone is relative to each player, which is why it's important to identify what aspects of the game you, personally, do or don't like. Many complaints posted here are really just misunderstandings and failures to adapt.

They should be here Soon(tm).
Kneejerk balancing would have killed Mechwarper and Wyrmrest Agent right after they were released. And I can imagine balancing would be difficult, since they also have to patch through the iOS app store.
We just got Tavern Brawl in June. A new mode every six months would be overkill.
Having every card playable would make it even worse for new players, imagine if every deck with Dr. Boom instead used a different legendary.
Some cards (the entire last wing of BRM) are trash until the right deck comes along.
Having every (or even >50%) card be playable would be impossible.
I couldn't really care about adventure AI, and more difficult ai would just get between myself and the cards I want.
I like having fun in my matches, creating nice, different decks and strategies. But I also like winning, hehe. You can't have both atm in ranked. I always played casual, but after the new ranked rewards, we are more drawn to play ranked. But meh, playing over and over against the same decks is boring...it's not players' fault, it's like sports...any competition will be like this, if you want to be the best you have to "work" for it, even at the expense of fun, and most times take decisions that are not really what you like, but what works best,..
It's ironic to say this at hearthpwn, but websites and streams showing "the best decklist" also helps to discourage players to create their versions of decks.
The discover mechanic helped a little, but not enough. Maybe they could add an extra card at mulligan, could help to give more consistency for slower decks. You can't nerf aggro too much because the game would be too much pay to win, you have to take into account the poor and the very casual players who have almost no cards.
You guys realise that *not* netdecking is just not doing your homework, right ?
Some people with lots of time on their hands or paid to play devise decks that would take you way too long to discover. If you want to spend two months losing while doing tests that have already been done by others, suit you.
I'm having fun at the moment because I can play a combo deck again. I'm not a fan of push-your-minions gameplay which is basically taking all the choices from you : do the good trades, don't do the bad ones, that's not really a choice. Combo decks allow me to decide if I play my card draw now, or if I can afford to take X damage next turn, sometimes I choose right, sometimes I choose wrong.
The main issue with "face decks" is that the ladder rewards fast wins over good winrates. That's a basic flaw of the ladder, not of the game itself. I don't get why they don't use a straight ELO system from rank 25, who you win or lose against should matter from the beginning, not just at legend rank after that 100+ games hurdle is passed.
Yes, there are some inspire minions that are broken... but overall, it's better than ranked with the "can't kill me" Reno and fatigue decks or take your pick of secret paladin, face shaman, combo dr - blah blah blah
Hitting Rank 5 for the golden epic is sure nice - but as long as you can be a "good" arena player and keep an average of 3+ wins, you will make up for that prize over time. (I also have a tinfoil hat and really feel arena packs are better... it just seems that way and makes sense they would be because it's a big gold suck or $2 for Blizz)

Couldn't agree more with you man. If arena wasn't part of the game, I wouldn't be playing it for so long.

'There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact'
I play less and less because the rewards are pretty lame. There's no reward going above rank 5 in ranked, and and arena just gives packs that I don't really care too much for. Gold can't buy anything aside from packs either.
Unless they change the rewards structure, or make cosmetic stuff purchasable with gold, I don't see myself spending more time playing the game. I still try to log in for dailies and at least tavern brawl once each week, but even arena has gotten kind of boring now.
I dunno, I think there has been a trend towards big shiny cards (mysterious challenger / reno / anyfin / entomb) that has led to a lot of very boring decks to play with and against. That is just my taste speaking though. It also doesn't help that my favorite decks to play (handlock / CW... not counting renolock) seem pretty bad atm.
