Current weapons are just better charge minions. Arcanite reaper compared to leeroy jenkins for example. Amaz once said that the weapons should only be able to hit minions. I think that's a great idea since it really only has ''negative'' effect on aggro decks.

At least weapon upgrades should be one dimensional. Add attack or add durability, the current state of weapon upgrades is too snowbally and extremely cheap for the value it gets. +1 attack is not much, if it is a 3/2, you gained 2 extra damage. But +1/+1, in same scenario you gain +6 extra damage. Imagine the value a double Upgrade! can offer for just 2 mana.

But if they listen to the other type of stupid players, soon the game will be full of charge cards, preferably poping up from deck to board, to secure a turn 2 lethal 90% of the time.
What we want is balance and playable games. I think charge is fine. But understand people getting frustrated by the current state of face rushing, everything to make our game fun again sounds legit, despite not always being the right solution.
Low skill/risk -> high and quick reward. That can't exist in a healthy game.
But one this is unquestionable: a fix is needed ASAP.
I never thought this thread is about "changing something" Blizzard will not change it (maybe tweak the interactions if they think its bugged like moat lurker). Its about theorycrafting, thinking "what if". If something feels unjust about the game we should talk it out; is it powerful, is it not interactive, etc.
I like the idea, but I think it breaks down too easily, would be way too confusing for new players and simplicity of the game. Also, that would leave the minion alive without trading, would likely be even more powerful. I agree a change needs to come to how often the mechanic is used (current pirate warrior is too uninteractive) but the power itself should remain as it has.
What you're suggesting is basically changing charge to "Battlecry: deal damage equal to this minion's attack" which in a sense makes the charge minions even stronger, since they don't have to trade (e.g. bluegill warrior would essentially become just a stronger blowfin sniper).
I don't think that really adds anything to the game. I think charge as a keyword is fine, it just has to be used with extra care.
Charge seems to be a rage inducing aspect of Hearthstone. Pretty sure blizzard has been making efforts to phase it out.
I think it's fine to stay but maybe have it so it an only target minions?
With the rogue decks becoming popular there is nothing worse than dying to a spammed boar charge. I have teched to counter this strategy and still inevitably lose.
Not a fun game when versing Rogues, just a countdown to cheese.
I know right? All these damned modifiers - charge, taunt, stealth, silence. Talk about unfair! Can't Blizz get their heads out of their keister and just make the whole game vanilla minions that go toe to toe. What is with all this strategy crap anyway? 1 mana 1/1 2 mana 2/2 3 mana 3/3 and whoever draws better wins dammit.

ok so they will not change charge, and they aren't going to phase it out fully, I think the fact they tried to so much a year ago is why meta was shit this past year. on rogue: yeah, that sucks but I have found many decks that deal with rogue, but very few that deal with pirate warrior, that is the thing that needs something done about it, still. A hard counter to pirate is needed, I think it exists but until it gets popular meta is shit, maybe tommorow it will get popular and then things will get interesting.

Charge have been a lot of issues in the past, you can see all the charge cards they nerfed in the past, even Warsong Commander is one of the rarest card who have been nerfed multiple times, Leeroy Jenkins is a card that have made his way in every single meta. They don't even bother don't print charges anymore, Patches the Pirate being the only charge they created for a year, and it is being played in most the decks aswell !
I think the ability of charge should be the same as the card Charge or Charged Devilsaur, let your minion attack instantly, only against minions.

There's also nothing wrong with Charge based combos, as any sort of Taunt minion completely wrecks them.
It's not Leeroy's fault a lot of people don't run taunt minions, nor is it an issue the devs need to solve.
