Generally when I play TCG's among my friends, I tend to give cards ridiculous names to loosen up the tension while discussing plays and really it lightens up the mood a little. That being said, the only card I have renamed and stuck with so far is the Silver Hand Recruit, which is the Paladin Hero Ability. Me and my friends now call him Shawn Michaels (The Former WWF/WWE wrestler). There is no actual connection between the two, but I find it rather fitting.
Are there other people who give their cards irrational names or am I the only one?
(Sorry if on the off chance that there is already a thread just like this)
A mate and I often refer to noteworthy cards as "<X> McGee" where X is the defining factor of the card. eg Imp Master - Tokens McGee, Defender of Argus/Sunfury Protector - Taunts McGee etc
I am guilty of that. The lines minions say when they are played are funny like that. Id like to imagine when anyone plays or encounters a Frostwolf Grunt and he says "WHAT YOU WANT!", more people than just me respond "BABY I GOT IT!"
Any name that starts with an L I add a C in front of it. Cloot Hoarder, Cleeroy, Cleper Gnome...idk why I just subconsciously add the C.
Mind Control Tech is TC 100.
I call Rockbiter Weapon, Cockbiter
Ironbark Protector is Earn Berk.
Stampeding Kodo is Bro-do
And then there's Edwin van Cleave.
Some minions I always say their battlecry when I play them. For the King! y-y-y-you gotta be kiddin' me! I get the best deals anywhea. Im reddy iiiiim noot readay. And I do my best Murloc gurgling everytime.
On my friendslist, we have a nickname for nearly every card in the game. Some come from various streams (like dudes -> paladin hero power), some from nicknacking. My Favs so far: Enraging Worgen -> Torben Oozeling -> Otzelot Chillwind Yeti -> Jedi (in Germany it is pronounced similar to Yeti) and finally: Wisps are called Pingbots
And maybe all mage spells are variants with "skill", like skillstrike, skillball, skillbolt ...

I have started to pick up some nicknames from streamers/etc. as well. I call the Knife Juggler "Gnathan" after the Gnome Rogue I used to play since they look so similar =)
I call the paladin hero ability "Dudes" (Thanks alot kripp / artosis), Senjin "Taz dingo". I refer to taunt giving creatures as "Shields up" guys most of the time.

Whenever I play the Northshire Cleric, I play Macarena until she dies.
She looks like she's doing it.
I'm sure everyone calls Sen'jin Shieldmasta TAZ DINGO!

Surely you mean Taz Dingo?
Unless explicitly stated, my posts are my opinion and mine only.
Aye, I call him Taz dingo. Another that people have pretty much re-named is Noble Sacrifice - pretty much known universally as "Get down!"

"You no take candle" - I find myself repeating that each time a Kobold is played.
Same! I love it
I'm pretty sure everyone calls Defias Bandit - Scrub.
