Patron warrior, combo druid, oil rogue; they all got one point in common; they can deliver massive damage in a single turn, in the range of 20 to 25 damage. Every time it happens in a game where I seemed to be in control, the loss feels cheap, sometimes I do get salty but I try to control my temper, this is just a game after all. I see it coming and try to plan accordingly but if they get the right cards at the right moment it seems unstoppable. Then I start to think, what if they introduced neutral secret cards that triggered on the opponents turns, something like "silence the next minion" that could foil those combos or at least make them bait out the secret. Anyone thinks this could be a good improvement? Of course it would have to come with several other secrets to avoid giving away the obvious "1 neutral secret" everyone knows about :P
Generally when I hear about countering this and that.. people usually respond with playing a certain class due to the cards available specifically for them. So a card that any class can play that counters the mentioned decks sounds kinda painful...
idk? kinda like loatheb? he's still popular right...
I think it's better to introduce a niche counter, if it's a hard counter into a single class and give them the option to tech in or out that card. That way it can slightly influence the viability of that kind of deck or mechanic without completely gutting it.
Something like Flare is a good example of limiting rampant Secrets. If it was Neutral then Secret Paladin just wouldn't exist.
