I believe it would be good for the game if you were allowed to pick your deck at the start of the game after finding out your opponent's class (mage, hunter, etc.). EDIT: I should clarify that you would have to pick your class first, for example, Mage, and then once the match starts, you would be able to pick which Mage deck you want to use.
This would open a new dimension of strategy to the game, since you could then build specific decks against specific classes and counter the current meta.
I assume that, in general, most people have a 'main deck' that they play against every class since you cannot know which class you are facing next. My suggestion would put all of your deck slots to use. You would actually use multiple decks as part of your strategy, rather than using your main deck over and over, and changing to another deck/class when you get bored.
What this would do is diversify the decks used. If you see that you are playing against a hunter, guess correctly that it is a Face Hunter, and react accordingly with a deck that is tailored against that specific deck, then you would be at an advantage. Whereas, if you guessed incorrectly, you could instead be at a disadvantage.
I think it would be awesome if I could build a deck that counters these decks without having to play this same deck against every other class that I encounter.
People would no longer complain about Face Hunter, Secret Paladin, Patron Warrior, or any other deck because they would be able to play their favorite deck, even if it were weak against, for example, Face Hunter, without being punished every time they encounter Face Hunter.
Again, this would diversify the decks used. I find it boring whenever I encounter a hunter because I can almost guarantee that it is a Face Hunter with the exact same cards as the Face Hunter that I just encountered last game. I have a feeling that many Face Hunter players do not even enjoy playing their deck, but is forced to do so because it is one of the only viable hunter decks that generally works against all classes (since you currently cannot know which class you will be up against prior to picking your deck).
To the Face Hunters out there, I am sure it is not the most fun experience when you play against another Face Hunter. My suggestion would allow you to branch out and try other decks and strategies to counter the counters that other players would create against Face Hunter.
I think this would be healthy for the game because you would then be able to use whatever deck you want (within the class that you choose), it would diversify the cards/decks used, and nobody would complain about 'cancer decks' anymore because you actually have a way to counter them.
The game would be dictated more by strategy and skill, rather than which deck you choose to play against every class/player.
How would this even work? The opponent would wait for you to pick your deck while you wait for your opponent to pick his deck. Then as the timer approaches 0 to select a deck, both will pick a deck at the very last moment, which would defeat the whole purpose of this.
Can you please explain how this would exaclty work?
Oh, sorry about that, I should specify that you still have to pick your Class before finding an opponent, but then you would then pick which deck you want to use within your class.
Once you get to see your opponent's class, and he gets to see yours as well, here is what might happen:
Option A: Based on your statistics, You decided to create an "all-in" deck that hard counters the most common deck archetype for each class. For example: every time you face a mage you assume it's tempo and play your deck that counters tempo mage.
What would really happen: is You'd both be stuck in a guessing game trying to hard counter each other. If you guess right, after a terribly boring and one-sided game, you win. If you miss your guess and it is freeze mage (which your deck sucks against because it was built exclusevely to counter tempo), after a terribly boring and one-sided game, you lose.
If you're ok with that, why do you have a problem in auto losing to face hunters? Ladder is the same, if you play an "all-in" deck (be it super aggro or super control) you'll have an awesome win rate against certain decks and fail miserably against others.
Option B: You decided to build a "jack-of-all-trades" deck that does relatively well against all of the most common deck archetypes for each class.
What would really happen: You would still have favorable and unfavorable match ups. Specially considering that your opponent would also be playing a deck that performs better against your class.
If you're ok with that, why don't you just adapt to the meta? Ladder is the same , you may tech in cards to improve your worst match ups at the cost of decreasing your win rate against your best match ups. Or you might even change your deck entirely if you feel the ladder is filled with unfavorable match ups.
TL;DR: It would not change anything!

I stop reading at the end of the first sentence.
I answer NO.

Do you play Go/Weiqi/Baduk?
I am 4D

It would severely hurt classes with only one or very few competitive decks, so I don't think it is a good idea.
I mean, warlock would become insanely powerful if you could chose between zoo, handlock and demon handlock.
Bad because this heavily favors some classes creating further imbalance.
My legendary count excluding adventure legendaries, dupes and old murk eye: 40
