I was watching Kibler just now. He was playing priest. He had 30 health and 2 minions: a 9/5 holy champion, and a 6/12 wyrmrest agent with 2 velens chosen on it. His opponent, the patron warrior, had an empty board, 10 hp, and a deaths bite with one charge left. He played emperor the previous turn and Kibbler SWD'ed right after. On the final turn (I think it was turn 8 or 9), the patron warrior puts down a warsong commander and Kibbler immediately says "we might just be dead here." Sure enough, after a patron, frothing, and 2 whirlwind, he was dead. A patron hit him for 3, and the frothing hit him for a 27. Exact lethal.
Getting real sick of this shit. Personally I'm finding myself intensely disagreeing with Ben Brode on his entire philosophy. Putting more cards in the game isn't guaranteed to fix problems in the meta, with Patron Warrior clearly displaying this problem. He also thinks that adding elements of RNG "add more skill to the game", which anyone with a functioning mind should be able to call out as bullshit, but that's another story entirely.
Patron Warrior is going to continue dominating this game until something actually gets nerfed. And Ben Brode isn't too keen on that.
Personally I just quit as soon as I realize my opponent is playing Patron. Tired of dealing with it, tired of playing perfectly and losing anyways with decks that are obviously Tier 1. I still make it to Rank 2-3 (and occasionally Legend) every month, but it takes a long time because I have to skip all the Warrior matchups.
Best way to deal with patron is to kill them before they combo. Clearly Priest is not the best choice for this.
Also they only thing they need to do to fix the deck is change Warsong Commander to simply say "Minions you control with 3 or less attack have charge." No more Berserkers, only Patrons (a max of 6 on the board with the Commander)

I agree with this second bit 100%, I think that could fix the deck. The first part is bullshit though, and here's why: Warrior is designed to be an incredibly defensive class. Patron Warrior specifically spends the first several turns simultaneously drawing a ton of cards AND building defense with Taunt, a shit ton of armor gain on cards, and their hero ability. These combined mean they cycle through a ton of their deck WHILE also protecting themselves. When the fastest and most aggressive decks can't beat a deck before it can combo off for the win, then what the hell are you supposed to do? Face Hunter has a miserable matchup against Patron. Secret Paladin also has a lot of trouble against it.
Furthermore, Patron PUNISHES you for playing minions, easily wipes your minions, and only extremely rarely has bad draws as long as it is played correctly.
The deck is a blight, and is clearly a tier above every other deck in the game. Does that mean it can't lose? Definitely not, but it is clearly overpowered and has single-handedly rendered multiple decks and even some archetypes completely unviable. The meta gets incredibly monotonous because of decks likes this. It's oppressive, it's not fun, it's irritating, and it's ruining this game for a lot of people, casual players and pros alike.

Fair enough, I wasn't suggesting that Face Hunter was good against it, I know how much they get wrecked by Unstable Ghoul. My point was more that playing a reactive deck with a slow finish is not good since they kill you all in one turn.

It is not about if it is a dragon deck or not... Watch the video, no one should be able to one shot someone from nowhere in that situation, it is not a good thing for this game and is disgusting...
Patron is for retard players that misplay all the time and still end up getting carried by the deck and winning. Either that or pros that want easy tournament wins for easy cash. Patron no matter how you look at it will never be considered a respectable deck. And to think that a specific set of 30 cards would be so fucking cancerous to the entire game.

Hey all F2P players out there! Try out my 100% free deck before trying to call this game pay to win!!!
It is not about if it is a dragon deck or not... Watch the video, no one should be able to one shot someone from nowhere in that situation, it is not a good thing for this game and is disgusting...
/looks at malygos druid deck and malygos mage deck that hits ppl in the face fom 30 to 0
/looks at divine spirit innerfire on a deathlord smashing faces on turn 4
/looks at people with alex going into face smash mode with gromm and a death's bite
the difference is that patron is the most popular one.
No, the difference is the consistency. None of those decks get their combo EVERY game. None of those decks have unparalleled card draw and defense while setting up for their combo. Patron has too many good things going for it, and no major weaknesses.

LMAO, WHAT????? You know what is the HUGE difference between Patron Warrior and the first two examples??? It is NOT popularity, it is CONSISTENCY!. And for the control warrior thing, it is a two turns play, there are a lot of things you can do to play around it.
Please, watch the video first and think about before making posts like that, it is ridiculous.
Leeroy Jenkins created a strategy that revolved around trying to defeat your opponent in one turn without requiring any cards on the board. Fighting for board control and battles between minions make an overall game of Hearthstone more fun and compelling, but taking 20+ damage in one turn is not particularly fun or interactive. This was occurring when Leeroy was used in combination with other cards like Power Overwhelming, Faceless Manipulator, Cold Blood, Shadowstep, and Unleash the Hounds, among others. - Blizzard

He didn't even use execute.
This Patron Warrior shit is ridiculous...
That's basically the same as good ole miracle rogue.
Just sit there doing nothing until you cycle your entire deck and get some dumb combo.
But at least you could like.. play taunts against that. Not against patron apparently.
