I'm just playing vs the perfect hand over and over again while I didn't draw into any kind of AoE for the last 3 games vs Aggro/Secret Pally. It is just straight up pointless. Usually by that time I'm around rank 9 or 8 but as of now i can't even go past rank 16. Perfect curve, all AoE spells whenever they need them (1 aggro Pally even had Equality + Consecration), T6 Horseman every game. Just pointless, even when i'm even trying to play around these things but when they have such stuff twice in their hand i can just stop playing anything.
I've never been so frustrated about a fucking videogame before.
Then adapt to it. Play a different build, a different deck or even secret pally. Metas change either you adapt or you don't get as high up ladder as you used to.
I never liked paladin, spawning tons of supid 1/1 fucks and hoping the enemy doesn't have an AoE is not what i want to do. I even adapted to the meta by including more AoE but the problem is i still don't draw it. Just so fucking unlucky, it is outrageous.
If you´re that worried just play ramp druid and you will eat any aggro out there. Then u will get eated by control but hey you cant have it all.
I think people climb faster when they are having fun so just choosing a deck you feel like playing instead of tryharding 24/7 helps alot in most cases.
Exactly. Whenever i switch back to stupid Facehunter i'm on a winstreak but it's no fun and i switch back to something else after 4 or 5 games. I want big guys and nice combos.
I've switched back to Midrange Hunter without Loatheb or Quick Shot. It's magic right now. Try adding Flare. Would work against the meta, just the only hard opponent is priest.
I imagine that midrange works really well, since most people expect face hunter at this point of the season.
If you dumped me in top 100 legend and said play; on any other night with this deck I'd be winning >50%. These bad runs I get are fucking ridiculous beyond belief and it's the complete essence of this game. Moderate nights followed by utterly fucking ridiculous ones where you can't beat anyone because you don't draw, they do and every single fucking dice roll is against you.
I'm fed up of being one of the best players stuck at the lowest rank imaginable. I'm fucking positive there isn't a better player than me ranked lower than I am, but I'm fucking sure there are tens of thousands ranked above me who don't even know what they are doing but just stumble through by blind luck
Cool story hansel..... perhaps you should l2p or head on over to the salty thread.
I am sure that there are worse players than you that are a higher rank, but the RNG gods treat you the same as everyone else.
The only thing that prevented me from hitting a rank higher than 4 last season was Secret Paladins. Seriously, I beat everything else except secretdin. Didn't help that almost everyone I faced at ranks 4 and 5 was a secretdin. Seriously, I did 10 matches one day and 7 of them were secret pally's. Now I have some good counters though, I wasn't really prepared for new deck archetypes then. Now I think I'll do better, my winrate vs secretdins has increased so hopefully I can hit legend!:)
Edit: Forgot to mention my decks...I'm using a MidRange Beast Hunter. Maybe Patron Warrior but I want to avoid using that to rank up.
I currently have a Tempo Mage (My main, mostly built by myself it's the basic Tempo mage with Firewalkers, Portals and so on. But i'm using Antonidas and Rhonin) and lots of other decks like Patron Warrior, Midrange Hunter (Flare), Token Druid and Dragon Priest. And a few others that i'm experimenting like Dragon Warrior, Dragon Mage and trying Kolento's priest.
But sometimes i wonder if i should be focusing more in a single deck instead of changing so much.

Focus on one of these decks and if you are losing alot of games with it, try to add tech cards. If it still doesnt work switch and repeat.

Depends on the meta. Start with a deck you enjoy and are skilled at playing, if you find that you are losing too much to a particular deck type or encountering a specific deck more often, switch as necessary to counter them. Really just depends on what you're facing. If you're doing good with something and enjoy it, there's really no need to switch.

Yeah usually the best thing to do is focus on 1 or 2 decks, that way you can change it up from time to time but you probably don't want to be jumping between 5 different decks all the time. The more you play a deck the easier it is to pilot it since you have experience in it.
Also teching for the meta is good, but make sure not to overdo it. For me sometimes it feels I just need to tech something in and Ill never see that class again.... tired of your third pally in a row with a million bubbles? Put in a bloodknight thatll show em! and then face all the rogues, druids and warlocks on the ladder..... ohh well
I don't find secret paladin that bad. You just need to save a brawl for mysterious challenger. If you can Sylvannas before it's obviously even better. They burn a lot of cards so you need to play for fatigue.
I'm one game away from going back from 17-20 with freeze mage. It's literally fucking unbelievable. I can't count quick enough because this game was designed for people with attention issues, I can't draw anything good, and some of these fucking decks I'm facing are beyond ridiculous. I had a paladin who healed himself for at least 22, and then alexed himself as well. Opening hands like 3 secrets and alex...
Time is a big issue for me in this game. It is even playing aggro decks. But there's so many permutations with freeze mage when you are trying to work out the next 3 turns that it's even more of a factor and it is leading tonight to some bad plays because I just haven't got time to check the maths to make sure I'm right. I play this deck far better when I am really really drunk.
Edit: 0-6, still going strong.
0-7 or 0-8.... I fucking give up this is beyond ridiculous. There's luck and then there's what I have to deal with. It categorically is the reason I can't get above rank 10. My winrate with this deck had been really high up until now and this shit is so common when I play that there's nothing you can do. I haven't won a single game tonight. I'm back to rank 20. Some people here just haven't got a clue what it's like to play when everything goes against you... absolutely everything.

You're just obviously bad at freeze mage. I was legend last season, this season just trying freeze mage for fun and I've already climbed to rank 5. IMO freeze mage doesn't require THAT much thinking that you run out of time. Thinking 3 turns ahead and about all the possible permutations is unnecessary.
Kolento Went 0-3 with secret pally at lastnight tournament vs Ramp druid / Patron and Handlock. Theres Three counters to use if you feel secret paladins giving you trouble on the ladder.

I started off this season using Reynad's hybrid token druid and have had an extremely successful run with it. I am at rank 10 at the moment and climbing. I also have played a few games with krups' tempo mage (tempo mage is one of my favorite decks) and done well with it as well. Finally, if things don't go well I have the slow grind with dragon priest. All these decks can be found here on hearthpwn. Good luck in the grind!
Bouncing between 14, 13 and 12 at the moment. Kinda tough meta. Gonna switch back to Tempo Mage, the classic version, again, as it's good against paladins, hunters and priests.
I'm exactly the same, just been knocked from 13 to 15... You on EU? The meta's so varied, it's hard to pick a deck that will have decent match ups :/
At rank 11-10 today ive faced 6 midrange hunters, 4 mages(2 freeze and 2 tempo), one combo druid,2 secret paladins, 2 warlocks (one handlock and one zoo) and 5 Warriors (3 control 2 patron) over 20 games.
So a deck that counters midrange hunters and control warrior would have been good.
Sadly i started with secret paladin, swapped to handlock (went 1-4 facing hunters and mages) and ended with control priest with a final score of 20-20 so im back where i started!! ie rank 10 two stars :)

Yep, Kolento got totally wrecked with his secret Pally, and in one of those matchups (vs handlock i think), he even had the dream draw, and still got owned.
Had a terrible time this morning but im making headway with priest.Dragon priest was fun but i was still getting beaten down by secret paladin. Went back to a hard control priest. It has bad match ups but i cant stand losing to secret paladin.

With druid deck is the best one out there atm?

Thank God.
I managed to escape the quagmire of Rank 17- now I'm at Rank 14 with some weird Midrange Hunter I made.

Anyone having any luck with any particular deck on EU?
I've tried totem shaman, midrange pala, secret pala and now midrange hunter and it's just constant back and forth, stuck at bloody rank 8-9.
