I'm completely and utterly stuck at rank 5 each season. I was considering looking into coaching but it just feels bad to me. I feel like I should be doing it myself. Thoughts?
there is really no reason to get coaching for the game. why? first of all there is no real organized play for this game. 2nd this game is stupid simple. if you dont get it now, just play a little more and you will get it.
Hey, coaching is important. Not even coaching in the sense of someone telling you what to do, but having another experienced player discuss plays with you opens up your mind. Some plays, no matter how you try, you will not see. This is where having that other player come in is helpful, because you can SEE the other plays now.
Getting to rank 5 is great, but being stuck means you need to fine tune your plays. I and probably others would be happy to help. Just add me in game.
Watching streams, continuing to play, changing decks, all meaningless if you don't see the plays youre not making, which they can't help you with.
I charge smiles for my help :)

If you're happy and you know it... well that's good :)
Hey guys! New streamer with a small following so I do answer all questions. I don't consider myself great but I have hit legend every season I have played. I'm just your average Joe with a pretty card back :D
I like LifeCoach's approach to Hearthstone, playing the same old decks over and over again and learning all the ins and outs of the deck and plays against other classes and stuff. Helps with laddering, it's like playing one champion in League of Legends or something.

I stop playing once I hit rank 5 each season due to how long it takes to climb the ladder. I think paying someone to teach you how to play a game is rubbish. If you want to be better at the game, then that's fine. But don't spend your money or possible time that could be spent making money on a game that won't make you a dime.
I feel as though I've got a decent starting knowledge of the game, and I've been reading a lot, and watching streamers to try and speed up my learning curve. So far, I haven't been able to get below rank 12. If any experienced players out there are willing/interested in giving a little advice, feel free to add me! Aeternos#1836
Coaching, wow. What's wrong with you, it's a game. Do you also need someone to teach you how to watch a movie?
Yeah, coaching is stupid. When I was on a baseball team when I was younger they gave us all a ball and a bat and told us to figure it out for ourselves. Why would we need a coach? Baseball is just a game after all.
I'll be happy to watch a couple games and make some suggestions if we're on at the same time. maroon5five #1484

wow, you are responding to a message thats more then 2 years old by someone who didn't post anything in the last year and a half.
There's a bunch of different ways of getting better at the game; Simply play a lot, watch streams, read about it, get coach and many more. Some things work for some people and other things work for other people. If you're at rank 5 then you're already doing great. (meaning you at least understand the basic stuff about the game, and you're probably using a okay deck)
I used to do a bunch of free coaching for players, but I don't do it as much anymore due to lack of time. If you want I could try coaching you, but I probably won't be able to do it regularly. :)

I have coached many people in the past when i had the time, for free of course.Especially when hearthpwners added me because of my decks on this site. The bad thing however is that if you do it 1or2 times most of them believe that you are their personal teacher and they tend to become veeeeeeeeery annoying and sometimes plainly rude. :/
i haven't coached people in Hearthstone but I've done coaching in Dota 2. Personally, I feel if you can get to rank 5 you are already a more than decent player. Going above and beyond that simply requires time and extreme dedication. It was the same for Dota 2, no amount of coaching will make you better at the game unless you actually spend A LOT, and I mean A LOT, of time playing.
Sounds like your gameplay issues will be solved by playing more as they did for the guys I coached in Dota 2. It's not like there is zero merit in coaching but it usually should just be reserved for people who are new at the game or people who are just bad at card games (as they may be more suited for another gaming genre see FPS, MOBA, MMORPG etc.).

Probably 10-20 games with around 50-60% (I haven't calculated, just a guess)

Find a streamer that explains their plays and uses a deck that you like. That's basically free coaching.

Anyone who is giving coaching for free wouldn't be doing it wholeheartedly.

Watch someone on Twitch and try and guess what move they are going to do. That's how I learned.
