So I've been thinking about recently the coin and I've been pondering a lot of ideas but I've finally found one that might be useful to add into the game.
So obviously as we all know the person who goes first gets nothing.. except for going first which honestly isn't that great unless you are playing a rush deck or a priest. This might put the player at a huge disadvantage on turn 1, especially if they don't have a good hand. Maybe if there was a way to possibly get a better hand? Why not give the player who goes first a second chance to discard what they want in their hand so maybe they will survive the early game, or they can get their turn 1 drops.
Now obviously if they do add this, the person that goes second doesn't get a second chance.. unless you were able to trade your coin for a second discard chance. This would be perfect, especially if the second player doesn't even need the coin.
There isn't a need for this. The starting hard RNG is part of the game, just because player one gets 3 cards doesn't really give them an disadvantage. The thing with going first is throughout the rest of the game you will always be one mana ahead of your opponent the net set of turns, which is actually a huge advantage.
Personally I think if anything should change with start hands it is to add one more card to each hand and start at 2 mana, because the majority of the time both people skip over 1 unless they get a lucky draw with some of the few good 1 cost drops.
In addition to Player 2 starting with The Coin, any player who finishes their turn with spare mana gets The Coin. You cannot have more than one and it continues to count towards the hand size limit.
