Was really hoping this expansion was going to address the fact Mage and Paladin is played 50% of the time and dominant the Arena scene. People just chain pick those 2 heroes, would have been nice to see a more healthy ratio/competitive heros. After examining the new cards Mage and Paladin definitely got one of the better deals in terms of Arena cards which will make it worse then it already is and it's already really bad.
Only difference will be Shaman and Druid got a nice increase and should be picked much more often but Mage/Paladin will still dominant and be 50% or more of my matches. The Blizzard Hearthstone Team really needs to address this, evening out Hero scaling in Arena.
Yep your right, Rogue is very strong and i've had many 12 win runs with that class..Reason it ain't picked as much is because Rogue is a much higher skill curve, but with this expansion Rogue didn't get the quality Mage did so the rift will be even greater now. It's just a shame...I believe a majority of people are sick of the sea of Mage/Paladin encounters. Only plus side to this expansion is the power rise of Shaman.
I absolutely suck with Rogue. This class has the lowest average for me. Funnily followed by Mage being the second lowest. However I got 12 wins with 5 classes so far (Druid, Mage, Priest, Paladin and Warlock) which let's me think that besides the warrior the balance in the arena is actually fine. You just need to know how to draft your class. Of course, Mage and Paladin seem to be the easiest to draft for many people, but if you get a little bit lucky with the cards and get a nice curve, there isn't much of a balance problem in my opinion :)
I think Mage and Paladin will continue to be picked a lot but Paladin did not get that big of a bump. A lot of the new cards for pally are crap which will water down their card pool. Also, don't under estimate how much better Druid will get. I think they may have gotten the best upgrade in cards of any class with the mega strong addition of 2 quality class 2 drops (Darnassus Aspirant and Druid of the Saber) and a 1 mana card that has ridiculous flexible use (Living Roots). They still don't have a quality hard removal butMultch less severe draw back compared with Naturalize.

If that can help you smile, I've never done 12-wins Arena with either Mage or Paladin. I've done it 3 times, each of them was with Rogue...
I do believe that Rogue have the better class cards in Arena to make tempo plays and be some kind of aggressive past a certain point.
Used to be a proud Handlock player.
Legend 17 times.
Still flirting with the ladder from times to times with Renolock.

- in progress -
I have over 70-80 12 win runs but only got 35 archived..It looks like this.
13 Mage
6 Shaman
5 Warlock
4 Druid
4 Rogue
3 Paladin
Mage is just too OP...Getting under 7 wins don't happen often.
I would say Rogue is probably the best, but Paladin and Mage are more consistent.
Shaku, the Collector gave me the Plague
