I do not have very many legendary cards, but I do have Foe Reaper 4000. Since TGT will be introducing numerous cards meant to slow/stop aggro and boost control/midrange decks, how much more viable do you think Foe Reaper 4000 will be?
The problem with Foe Reaper is that there are better options at 8 mana, since he does nothing the turn he drops. That doesn't make him a bad card, just a suboptimal choice in most situations. If you want to use him, just sub him for any other big legendary in someone else's deck.
Quite acceptable, it is better than its image. Doesn't die to BGH and wins you the game when you're in a good spot to drop it safely if your opponent has no unconditional removal. The problem is, you already need to be ahead to play it safely.
But I am sure it will see play in a new type of Control Warrior with Varian Wrynn, however this deck will need a bunch of other legendaries.
Foe Reaper will not be worse if you do think that. Rather he might get actually better since the meta will slow down. Does not change that he is not really good enough to be played, and mages will now hat a lot more removals (althrough don't think that they have maybe enough space for the new spell in their deck).
So no, he will not get worse in TGT compared to other cards. Instead maybe he gets better because of the game slowing down. Wait and see.
Well, with more hard removals like Mulch, Dark Bargain, and Void Crusher, let's just say that any minion that costs 6 or above needs to be able to influence the game state the moment it is dropped, or at least before the turn finishes.
That deck looks interesting, but I don't have much experience playing priest. Would FR4000 fit well into midrange or ramp druid?
Foe Reaper 4000 definitely can fit into a Ramp druid. If you can keep him safe for at least one turn and make use of his passive, then you'd be getting good value. Perhaps if you shield him with a Taunt minion. I don't think he can be played onto an empty board. If your opponent is mid range or control, they probably have a number of removals but if they've already used them and you're willing to gamble they've no more, then I'd think about throwing him down onto an empty board. If you're up against aggro and they've used their silences already, you're good to drop him anytime really.
With Varian and Aviana he will become more viable of course but how much - who knows?.. I guess 80% and more of ladder still will be cancer-abusers (who have no gold/dust/brain for a decent heavy deck). So I suppose - marginally more viable, no more.

You could try this deck if you want to use him.

Otherwise, it's a semi-vanilla.

Sure, why not. Any deck that just stalls into dropping big threats could use him as one of those threats, if you don't have better options.

I think I am fooling myself into believing there is untapped potential that simply isn't there.
I hope to get Aviana from my packs or possibly craft her and build a deck around Foe Reaper and two Ancient of Lore.
Unfortunately, I have limited resources and am trying to make the most of what I got.
