Clearly Evil Heckler isn't that great of a card, and isn't going to cause any power creep problems.
I'm just very, very afraid of the power creep, at some point, obseleting cards that were played once. Just imagine a vanilla 4 Mana 4/6 being released in half a year because everybody stopped playing Chillwind Yeti. Everyone would (hopefully) go nuts, but couldn't that be too late? What if they have released about 15 cards that are strictly better than others at that point? A big part of the playerbase might quit the game while the ones that didn't care about power creep wouldn't have cared anyways if old cards would have been rebalanced.
What if people get used to power creep and suddenly accept a neutral 4 Mana 4/6?
Another thing to mention is that Blizzard isn't printing anything, why don't the use the fact that they are making a digital CCG when it comes to balance?
Power creep is a slippery slope that has the ability to ruin great games. I'm very afraid of Hearthstone dying at some point because devs don't utilize the power which they have oer the game because it is a digital CCG. The guys at Blizzard have kind of proven that they want to pretend the game wasn't digital in some weird ways.

Imagine if my brother was a girl. He'd be my sister, right?
What you're demonstrating here is a classic "slippery slope" fallacy, which is just that - a fallacy. You even called it "slippery slope" yourself!
Do you honestly think that the developers are unaware of "power creep" and have failed to read any of the numerous articles about it? Really?

Yes. Ben Brode specifically said that he is okay to making new cards which are effectively old cards with better stats, as long as those cards are not played regularly. So yes, that's uour developer saying that they will creep the crap out of non playable cards and a dollar to hundred says that they will soon release a 4 mana 4/8 yeti because the last thing i trust blizzard with is game balancing.

He said he print new cards rather than buffing old underpowered cards. Which is entirely different from what you are suggesting. He didn't say he would print new UNBALANCED cards to replace old underpowered cards.

You think that Evil Heckler is "creeping the crap" out of non playable cards? Really? You think that this is going to be used in any top-tier decks then?
I totally accept your bet. *shakes hands*. Your prediliction for histrionics is going to cost you!
(And you say you really honestly think that the developers are unaware of the concept of power creep. Actually, I'm going to call you out here and say that in fact you don't really think that the developers are unaware of the concept of power creep. You, sir, are clearly a LIAR.)

They wouldn't have release an OP version of War Golem if they are aware of Power Creep. So yes, they took an unplayable card that is War Golem, and creeped the crap out of it to make an unbalanced Dr Boom, and still stand by their decision that it is not overpowered, just like how they stood by their decision of keeping Undertaker the way it is before nerfing 3 months later.
Guess what that means? It means ever since Naxx, we are effectively playing a version of HS that was broken, because that's why they changed Undertaker. Right now, we are still playing a broken version of HS because they created a power creeped Dr Boom, which they will nerf 4 months later. Now they are a bit more careful, they didn't make Ice Rager summon 2 boom bots, but they are still making the fundamental mistake of power creeping old cards. So they are not learning from their mistakes.
So yes, i truly believe that the developers of HS don't know the fundamental concept of power creep. There's no such thing as "it's okay to power creep unplayable cards" or "creating strictly better versions of unplayable cards is not power creep". Power creep is power creep, and it is a concept that needs to be avoided. That's because you can't avoid making old cards obsolete because you need to introduce stronger and more versatile cards in terms of abilities, which is why Pilotted Shredder is the new Chilwind Yeti. However, what they should avoid is situation where you have absolutely no reason to use a card because there is another card that gives you the same thing, but at a cheaper mana cost. That's like inflation. It's like printing a new 10 dollar bill that costs 9 dollars to buy.
Nevertheless, one silver lining is that one can argue that this is not 100% power creep because with the Joust mechanic, sometimes Booty Bay Bodyguard is better than Evil Hecker. However, that's quite a stretch because i don't see the future of HS being "oh i think i should put the 9 mana cost Dr Boom in my deck instead of the 7 mana one because of Joust".

Ben Brode already stated that they would create new cards rather than buffing old ones:
