I've been thinking lately that a cumulative timer would be much better than a fixed one: instead of getting 75 seconds each turn, players would get, say 20 seconds to start, then each second not used would be carried over to the next turn, so that by turn 10, if a player acted quickly enough, he could accumulate about 3 minutes of time.
Watching the ATLC tournament and seeing how much grim patron decks in particular (but other decks as well) were struggling to finish their later turns in time is what makes me think this is a needed change. It would also solve the problem of players trolling or just being needlessly slow in the early turns. Early turns are typically straightforward and do not require a full 75 seconds, while later turns often require significantly more than 75 seconds (especially at high-end play). Also, this would reward players who act and think quickly, which would add another competitive dynamic to the game, and overall it would make games quicker and more exciting
