Just registered to say that I've been playing every day for two or so months now, and this last week is the worst I have seen in this game. In the last 2-3 days, at rank 4, around 25 of my 30 games were against hunters or druids. Don't think I saw one mage, shaman, or warrior in all of those games. Every druid with exactly the same deck. Every hunter doing the identical bumrush. Guessing the druids are just in response to the hunters, but whatever. Whatever meta this is is way worse than the reign of mages or murlocks.
I'm guessing in a week it's going to be shamans out the wazoo, they seem like they're poised to become the next flavor of the week. I feel yah, ranking from 12-6 tonight was just pure Hunter glory, I would in my totally unprofessional opinion, say that at least 70% of my games came up hunters, 20% Druid, and the last 10% mostly Locks/Paly . Part of me is stoked to see hunters doing better again, but goddamn that is a lot of hunters.
I think I would rather suffer testicular trauma than go through that "Frozen Giants" deck meta again. At least with the Hunters it's over in 7 turns one way or the other.
It is back to needing healing in spades and since only 2 classes have on demand big heals it is going to be annoying until they flesh themselves out and drop the hunter numbers like they did to the mages.
Of course it does not help that the hunter deck can be done with no epics or legendaries at all so it is extremely accessible to everyone.
The meta is quite flimsy at the moment with the recent patch change and streamers being a big influence on what people play, when a popular streamer is playing something you see a lot of it on ladder.
Having also gone from rank 12 to rank 6 tonight I can also say that about 1 in 3 games are vs Hunter. 1 in 3 vs Druid. 1 in 5 versus Pally. 1 in 5 versus Warlock & finally 1 in 10 vs Rogue.
And out of the 30 or so games I played I only came up against one shaman. No mages, No Priests. No Warriors.
Big advantage of this "messy" meta? Play hunter control :) Everyone behaves like hunters only play rush, exploiting this weakness, helps winning the game.
Alternative is playing Shaman Midgame, which both kills off hunter rush and super late druids.

Yeah I don't really play Shaman cause it just never felt right to me and I don't have many Shaman cards in my collection but I played him last night for a daily quest. I went to casual mode cause I figured I'd get stomped switching decks in ranked. I have no idea what my MMR is but I stomped the 3 hunters I came across on my way to 5 wins. They tried to ignore my minions too much and turn 5 or 6 I'd blood lust and crush them. I'm assuming I'm playing lesser hunters or people wouldn't be complaining so much about the new meta.
Hunters are definitely in full force this week. I'm interested to see what the maintenance from Blizzard is bringing about. Maybe some more card changes? That'd be crazy. Hopefully they fix the placement bug with Defender of Argus / Sunfury Protector.
It's actually fine with all the hunter rushes because it quick matches and I have good success with them. It takes a really bad draw from me to lose to them. Druid seems more rare however. I'd say it's something like 50% Hunters, 15% Druids, 15% Locks, 15% Pallys, 5% Other. I always freak out when I go against another Rogue, it's so rare.

I assume you're playing on US servers? Cause in Europe, at least 50% of my opponents at rank 4 are druids~

Yes I'm sorry I should have clarified that. I'm playing US Servers and I'm rank 10.
IMO, Blizzard fucked up this big time...I don't know who tested UtH with 2 mana and the combos...they failed !
my 2 cents
This! It should take less than an hour of in house playing to see how bad this change to UTH is. With the beast buffs that come with this class, it should be at least a 4 mana card. The hounds could also last only one turn, but that may be a bit much.
