I dont get to play too much - like an hour a day on public transit.
Let's say I loss a game by like 1 health. I generally think this is funny and want to say GG let's hang out more later on cuz that was crazy; or I barley win GG I got lucky.
I can't be the only one that FRIENDLY friend requests after a win or loss - people seem to think it is only rage around here....
I sometimes friend to apologize if my opponent had me and I topdecked some BS combo card to kill them. And if someone plays their deck really well sometimes I'll friend and ask for tips on how to play or beat the deck they were using.
It's funny - this happened to me a few days ago. It was a lock vs. lock match, fairly even but he was barely winning. I was down to 1 HP, and won with some super lucky top-decked combo. The guy added me as a friend and I accepted, expecting some incoming rage to laugh about. Instead, he never said anything, so I guess it was a friendly add. Still removed him after a while though because I didn't know him :P
I make it a point to friend request an opponent after an epic game. Mainly because I generally would want to play that person again. Most of my friends on my list were gained this way.
I'll always friend request after a really good or crazy game. The only problem is people often take a while to respond, and then I forget why I friended them. I never rage-request, though. 'Cause, you know, it's a game.
I friended a guy after my first and only tie game. He didn't have much to say but to tell me how a missed play on my part cost me the win. (he was right)
People add me all the time after games (and I always accept), and 95% of them are just sore losers who want to tell me that I only won because of luck and blah blah blah. I do enjoy making friends though so I am glad that there are people out there who do add people just to be friendly.
Funny story: This Druid guy added me to tell me that I was insanely lucky that game and shouldn't have won because he had game next turn, and I was at 20 life so I was like "How?" and he told me he had FON, double savage roar, and intervate. Considering we were only 15 cards into our decks I'm going to say that I'm not the insanely lucky one in this scenario.
I try to do this when a game is really close, or I run into a different deck I like the look of, or my opponent just played really well. I have a hard time getting them to accept though. I think the assumption is you want to rage on them, which, honestly, you can't blame people for assuming, given the current net culture. LOL
Played against a Patron deck yesterday with my Mage and wanted to tell the guy "good job." Yes, it's the #1 deck and yes, they are all almost identical, but he played it really well and despite some fairly bad card luck on my part, I don't think it would have changed the outcome of the game much (if at all). But he didn't accept, which I can certainly understand.
i send friend requests very often after fun or exciting games and most of the people often accept the request and i just talk to them about the match we had and sometimes i meet really nice guys that i talk to almost every day about the game and the decks we are playing
I once added someone as a friendly request and they said something like "wow, you're the first person to add me as a friend and not rage at me".
It's pretty safe to assume that if you play aggro decks that rely on luck, you're going to get a lot of rage requests. Rage requests are, likely, also more common at higher ranks, where people take things more seriously. In arena... it's a toss up.
I usually get friendly requests because I play unique decks at higher ranks, and typically people add me to complement my deck because it has pirates... or whatever.
It's usually pretty easy to assume what kind of friend request it's going to be. If you pulled off some bullshit luck with an aggro deck and were using emotes... it's safe to say they are not going to be friendly. If you had a good game, it's probably going to be friendly (hopefully).
That's the only way I've ever sent a friend request. The whole rage invite has never really entered my mind. I did have someone do it to me once after I beat him fairly soundly though. I naively thought he was adding me to say good game or something similar, but instead I got a tirade of profanity laced with racial and homophobic insults. That's what I get for assuming everyone else is a good sport I suppose.
I've friended someone for having a really unique deck, and have received positive requests as well. Generally the nature of the game and the ladder rank at which it occurs are enough to tell if it will be a bitter troll or not.
I accept all friend requests. Sometimes it's not an angry kid yelling at me. Today though some kid playing netdeck midrange paladin said "nice netdeck" when I beat him with zoolock :,( :,( Some people have so little self-awareness lol

Have a great deck that's really, really cheap? Help the new players out

I tend to invite people once in a while after a really good game. Haven't had a rage-request in ages though.

I often request people after a particularly good or interesting match to chat about it. Maybe 1/3 of people accept.
Feel free to add me if you play on NA! iMPose#1429
Seems like 1/3rd of people accepting is even a high number - Id say 1/5 maybe anyone else getting that?
