I'm curious how Blizzard is going to handle this class going forward. Warlocks undoubtedly have the strongest hero power in the game, and as more and more cards are released, their hero power will only continue to grow in strength in comparison to the other hero powers. I really don't see how they are going to be able to balance the class without reworking the hero power.
How is it going to work, do you think? Or will we all just be playing warlocks?

Anyway, warlocks aren't broken at all. I don't really think they need balancing...? Zoo is manageable (more manageable than hunter anyway) and handlock is also manageable. Demonlock is still in it's gimmick stages IMO, so what's the issue?
Warlock will always be a strong option, but even today, I do not think Warlock has the best deck in the game. The hero power will not change, it is fine. The class itself will be balanced in a way, that the weaker classes will receive stronger class cards in the future. Just the way Mage was handled in the last two card releases.

I think the idea a lot of people have is that even if their class cards come with drawbacks, they can make more or better use of the available neutral options. The new Malygos Warlock is a good example. Near the release of BRM many speculated that Shaman MIGHT make a big comeback with Malygos, even Freeze Mages tried him instead of Antonidas. Yet who made the most out of the new toy called Thaurissan? Warlocks. Not only did it enhance one of their strongest decks, it added another to the mix.
Anyway, I also think that the class will remain among the top unless something terrible happens to hero ability. But hey who knows, maybe the possible burst damage will increase over the next few expansions, or more classes will gain some burst to begin with. There is a reason why Warlocks of all kinds have issues with Hunters after all - tapping for 2 health matters a lot more against them.

Why do people automatically assume every single thread on this forum is a whine thread? I'm not whining anywhere in the OP. I'm trying to discuss the game. You guys should take a break from the forum if all you see are whine threads.
Warlocks are the only class in the game who have a hero power that grows in strength with the power creep. As cards become stronger and more valuable, their ability to completely omit any card draw from their decks without it hindering their play looks like it could be tough to balance. I was looking to discuss how it might be balanced when there are say, 5 more expacs released, or 6, or 7. The power creep is real.
If this was about warrior, i'd be right on par with ya; warlock..Not so much. I dont even play much warlock so im not defending but playing against them is ok, unless they have their mana curve decided before using it, then you might be in trouble.
I do think voidcaller is a tad much,, the minion stats are very strong considering your opponent is going to summon a minion for free; Alarm bot does the same thing basically with no stats, so these 2 cards in comparison, theres a pretty big disconnect in the stats and yes, the deathrattle is not as good as the bot because itll proc next turn but you wont get any favorable trades out of the bot, where as with voidcaller you could get one, and then another in one turn if doomguard comes out on your turn, or even a mal'ganis or something ludcaris like this.

Actually, I'd say that Druids make the most use of Thaurissan. He enables much stronger Force of Nature combos, which in turn punish Warlock for every single life tap. I'd say that Thaurissan, because he encourages burst combos, actually weakened Warlock.
Nothing. Blizzard doesn't do things actively to classes, and yet the meta changes and new decks arise that cause havoc and complaints. They continue to do nothing and changes continue to occur. I don't think anyone could have predicted the cards produced in naxx, brm, and gvg, so there's no real way to predict what the next card set will do.
By doing nothing, they are doing something.

This is also the reason that I doubt we'll ever see any more aggressive neutral Murlocs. (I think that's why Blizzard has started pushing Murlocs towards Shaman instead of keeping them neutral.)
Since it's all but impossible to change the hero power, I think we'll continue to see Warlock's aggressive class cards being under-powered relative to the other classes. I think Blizzard is forced to push Warlock towards mid-range and control strategies instead.
We almost have reached what in MTG was the "Black Summer" ( 1996). The Necropotence question. They nerf almost every black card in that deck till they finally banned Necropotence. They even ban dark ritual ( iconic black card that was included in every black deck and marked the average cost of blackcards) before reconise they should made something with necro

In early days of beta, Rogue Hero Power used to equip a 1/2 weapon, but if you cast it while you have a weapon, it'd give that weapon +1/+1. They changed it because it was clearly op. Life Tap is a different story because it has it's own pros and cons but as OP mentioned, it'll get stronger as more expansions will get released. Maybe in the future they can scale the damage with hero's own life so early game it'd be more punishing and late game wouldn't even punish at all.

Agreed. I think that's why Druid Murlocs etc will never be viable. A lot of decks are indirectly suffering because Life Tap is limiting Blizzard's ability to make aggressive neutral cards.
Although I agree that the Warlock hero power is pretty good, I disagree that Warlock cards are underpowered. Warlock has access to some of the best aggressive early drops (Voidwalker and Flame Imp), some excellent low-cost, high power damage spells (Power Overwhelming and Soulfire. although the latter is not as powerful as it was when it costed 0), minions and spells with insane value (Voidcaller, Doomguard, Lord Jaraxxus, Imp-losion) and the best AoE spells in the game (Hellfire and Shadowflame).
The fact that despite all these very powerful cards, Warlock is decent to good, but not overwhelming, just goes to show, in my mind, that their hero power is pretty well balanced. The cost to use it is real - and it has the least board impact of all the hero powers, in a game where board control is oftentimes the key to success. The strength of Warlock in tournaments does not only come from its sheer power, but also from its unpredictability : it is pretty hard to choose a deck to face it, as you can't know for sure if you're facing heavy control, all-in aggro, or some kind of midrange / combo deck.

Kill any minion with 2 hp or less, or if they do survive freeze them.
