Just wondering if anyone else has ever seen this. This guy gets an Auchenai Soulpriest from his Piloted Sky Golem and a mistress of pain off of his Piloted Shredder at the end of his turn he hits my face with the mistress of pain and the combo proceeds to do 28 damage to his face and kept going until he was -6. wondering if this is a bug or if that's how those cards were intended to work together?
It's been confirmed to be intended (or, well, it's not a bug at least). Essentially when Mistress of Pain deals damage it heals you for that much, but with Auchenai Soulpriest that healing is instead ALSO damage it deals, leading to an infinite loop.
misteres gains life, but the soulpriest says that if someting gains life, it does damage instead... so mistress wants to gain life, but does damage instead, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, but instead of giving life it deals damage, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life, and when it does damage it gains life, but instead of gaining life it deals damage and wants to give life... infinite combo!

To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffer!
It's intended to work that way and it's pretty well known occurrence in the world of hearthstone. Imo a pretty neat effect. Chances of it happening are pretty damn small since you need 2 minions from different classes but if it happens, it makes my day :p
Never happened while i was playing tho.
EDIT: welp 3 people where faster then me, ignore the part where I answered a question that was answered 3 times already. :p
How could this ever be intended. Read the card descriptions. Auchenai makes healing into damage. Mistress of pain makes you heal 1 damage. So how does healing over 30 make any sense.

When Mistress of Pain tries to heal you, it instead causes you one damage because of Auchenai. But since MOP caused damage to you, it tries to heal you again (as per its card description), and ends up damaging you again, ad infinitum until you die. Get it?

That's the stupidest thing I've read all week. No way the game designers were coming up with Mistress of Pain going like like "oh yeah if Auchenai Soulpriest is in play and Mistress of Pain attacks you fucking lose instantly"
Sounds like an excuse not to fix this interaction.
You clearly don't read many threads on here if that's the stupidest thing you have read. I'm sure the designers didn't actually think about it when they started designing Mistress, but in testing when they found the interaction they probably left it in because it's a very cool interaction. The game needs crazy interactions to keep it interesting. Yes, this one in particular is very rare because it uses 2 different class cards, but it's still really cool.
The only way to "fix" this would be making an exception of the entire game's mechanics just for this ( unlikely ) combo, which just isn't how you want a game to work.
It's probably not intended, but it's definitly not a bug or glitch. Works as intended.

There's no fixing to be done. When those cards are on the board Mistress of Pain tries to heal you but instead it deals damage to you, so because it deals damage to you it tries to heal you, just like the writing says and so on. Someone else already explained this, i don't get how it's so hard to read. Next time don't call something you don't understand stupid, you know it's a double edged sword.
WHENEVER Mistress of Pain deals damage to SOMETHING, ANYTHING it will try to HEAL you for the damage done by her. Because of Auchenai Soulpriest, WHENEVER Mistress of Pain [/card]tries to heal you it actually deals DAMAGE to you, so that means that for this DAMAGE [card]Mistress of Pain tries to HEAL you the same amount of DAMAGE dealt, but she does DAMAGE again because of Auchenai Soulpriest. This loop can't be stopped because she never gets to HEAL you, she just deals DAMAGE.
There really isn't much more explaining than this, if you don't get it, forget it. :)

still the funniest thing i've ever seen. as you can tell i was losing for sure before that happened... :P
Lmao the odds to get those 2 specific cards out of the Golem.

Why you bumping a thread a month old lol
That is exactly how the interaction functions.

Why would it be a bug
