I'm concerned that Hearthpwn will have a new deck section specifically for the current brawl challenge, like the PvE section for heroic bosses. If this happens, I'm probably going to like this game less than when there was no brawl. A door you know you won't enjoy going through is worse than no door at all.
I'd like to start a movement to prevent people from posting decks for brawls.
Think of it as in the adventures. There are those who want to obtain full value for what they bought and play each boss multiple times, tweaking their decks and creating the best strategy to defeat it by themselves. Then there are those who want to go straight to the cards and netdeck the best strategies to beat the bosses the first time they play.
If you want to have fun and get the full experience in the Brawls, you'll create your own decks and figure out strategies on your own. If you just want the fast win, you'll search for the best decks on the internet EACH week. The amount of fun you get depends on how you play.
Besides, there is plenty of space for "fun, self-crafted decks" in ladder. Maybe not so much in the lowest ranks where people play the most popular decks to get the monthly card back and then get out, but the higher your rank is, the more variety you'll find (or at least that's what I see when I play).

If there are rewards or some sort of rank system most people will netdeck and there is nearly always going to be an 'optimal' deck, although yes there will be some people who go above and beyond and create very good decks, I fear netdecking will make it very stale however.
people will just netdeck what is considered the best for each week challenge, people who wanna have super fun decks will just shoot themselves in the foot like in ranked playing fun deck, thoughts?
Then get in on the brawl early and let it be later in the week. Just one week you have to wait instead of months between expansions / adventures.
It's pretty obvious the main purpose of tavern brawl is to make it slightly easier for new players to get into the game and complete dailies. Between ranked, casual and tavern brawl, you would definitely have a better chance of winning in tavern brawl because you're not going to be up against decks that have been refined over months.

The meta decks are often established on sites like Hearthpwn after weeks and months of testing from lots of sources. If it changes up every week it's going to be tough to get enough data to be like, "This is the best deck for this brawl." There will be a section, it will be theory-craft, and then before anyone has solid data it's a new brawl.
Well I think the rewards will govern how much fun Tavern Brawl is.
I hope they have like portrait rewards and card back rewards not just actual value rewards.

I am a Druid/Hunter/Rogue player with about 1,760 total wins and I am capable of high legend play.
Want to chill and play someone or make theory craft decks with them, then that's me. I am a Hearthstone coach and I build decks whenever I get inspiration.

I think the OP's gripe is that even if people can't come up with the absolute best and most refined deck each week, there will be decklists floating around on how to best tackle the brawl each week. Most likely, the top voted one will be netdecked a lot and instead of everyone making their own decks and having their own ideas, a lot of the time you will be facing the same netdeck. That much is pretty inevitable.
I haven't actually thought about Tavern Brawl turning into mini-ranked. I really hope "Brawl net-decks" don't become a thing, but what can I even do to stop that? Nothing -.-
This is really going to depend on how they choose to build Tavern Brawl; If they choose to go the route of just lame ass side content every week that is "Just for fun guys!" but no fun at all, i'm going to be really upset because this idea has alot of potential to explore in relation to all the theorycraft bullshit. This might even be a new way to play the game all together that we're going to see rise to tournaments along side regular games, who knows?

If there's real rewards, it'll be heavy on netdecking, though the decks will be very unrefined and, thus, wide open for inventive folks to break past it. Patron decks 1 week after BRM were A LOT weaker than current decks.
Note that if there are real rewards, though, then this isn't the real solution to pure 'for fun' play. Blizzard has already said that thhey know ANY reward results in a competitive spirit and that they will need a place where there's no rewards at all.
i dont know what youre talking about, the people who truly want to have fun will build their own decks. Plus, we should wait for full details for it and find out.
You'll only have 3 or 4 days for each ruleset, that's barely enough time to even build and post a deck. Why should top players who've "broken" the format share their decks straight away? Sure by day 3 or 4 you might have some pretty good decks posted on hearthpwn, but the brawl meta will continue to shift and that netdeck will always be running at only about 70-80% of its potential. Plenty of room to refine it yourself, or just do something else completely off the wall.
The format is going to be a real boon to deckbuilders, and hopefully will recapture that Week 1 insanity that happens whenever we get new cards.
What? Fun? Are you serious? They already stated that "3 wins 10 gold" quest will work there. If more people are going to play "fun" decks there, even I will go farm easy gold in Brawls, plus I get free Pack, plus they're "thinking about more rewards".
Kripparrian once theorised that any potential "casual" mode will stay fun for as long as there are NO tangible rewards for winning. As long as there is no win state people won't bother mid-maxing for the sake of "winning" the game (mid-maxing for the sake of personal satisfaction is absolutely OK). Even such trivial stuff as daily quests incentivise people to use the most optimal decks (see: net-decks in casual or net-decks at rank 20). So, maybe the best way to keep tavern brawl free from net-decks is to disallow quest completion in that mode?

It also takes a few days for the meta to settle, and the brawls are only up for like, what, five days at a time?

This. OP is just being pessimistic.
No one will invest dust only to cater to a weekly Brawl. That alone should prevent mass netdecking as we see it on the ladder.
That said, I love that this will likely be an incentive to not auto-dust "terrible" cards.
