I already told in many other posts and I actually have already sent a ticket for the support asking for information about the cost of the stuff and telling that 5$ would be a lot more reasonable.
"if you wanted it bad enough you'd pay for it."
Nope, Im actually a very proud person and I consider overprice a disrespect, and Im not going to buy it since I was disrespected.
LOL, exactly so you aren't willing to pay the price of "disrespect", now it costs to much too you and it outweighs how much you want it. Hence, you don't want it bad enough to buy it. If you wanted it MORE than the price of disrespect you would buy it. Plain and simple.
I'm not going to say to you what you should or shouldn't buy, thats up to you. But I have the right to complain about overprices. And 10% for a skin IS overprice. Asking that much money for just a skin is disrespectful to the fans. Even 5$ would still be lame, but at least I'd gladly pay for it, I KNOW they must make money somehow, but they just showed me their greedy side once again.
This is a YuGiOh game-mat. You could call it a "skin" for YuGiOh. They generally cost around $15-$30. And almost every serious player has several of them. It doesn't give you any type of advantage whatsoever, it just looks good.
Card games are without question, the most expensive type of games in existence. Most people who play card games spend $100+ per year on them. Go out and ask any competitive MTG or YuGiOh player and they will tell you the same thing. I don't view this as Blizzard being greedy at all. They are simply giving us a new option that we can spend a little extra cash on to make our game look shinier. No one's forcing you to spend 10 bucks to continue playing the game. Literally nothing bad whatsoever will happen to you if you don't buy one.
I have always viewed more options as a good, positive thing. Nothing bad whatsoever can come of having more options. Which is why I genuinely do not understand why so many people are saying that this is a bad thing? I really don't get it. Either you are the type of person who's willing to put down a little cash for some fancy visuals, or you will continue playing the game in the exact same way you always have with no change at all. There is no downside that any player faces from this in any way, shape, or form. The absolute worst thing that can possibly happen to you is nothing happening at all.
So someone please explain to me why people are complaining?
As I already said, I am not complaining about the content, but the price. I totally agreed with you when you say the more stuff the game has, the better it gets.
I played YU GI OH since I was a kid and I gave up on it last year, I know a lot of things about it, and I know it is very expensive, but the big difference is that hearthstone is a COMPUTER GAME, your cards, your card backs, your heros, nothing is real, they are just information in a computer, thats the big difference. There is no reason for it to be overpriced since the cost of it is only the development which is pretty simple (just a pic with really easy to make effects).

You aren't wrong, it's probably very easy to make and probably very easy to implement. However, since the game is essentially free to play and you can get anything and everything in the game that matters for nothing, and am willing to bet many many people do exactly that, they have to make their money on the fluffy bull shit and off the people who will pay. That being said, I am sure they are making money hand over fist with this game.
I wouldn't consider it a slap in the face, it's not like Blizzard promised anything and this IS a free to play game. If you want to see a real slap in the face, check out the current state of World of Warcraft where people pay a monthly sub AND have to throw extra money at them for mounts, pets and other cosmetic items (while the standard content is at an all-time low).
That said, I do understand and share the general disappointment. The community cried for months for more rewards and incentives in the game, even several of the famous streamers made videos throwing ideas around what could and could not be done. Alternate hero portraits was one thing people looked forward to, be it as a reward for reaching level 60, collecting all of the class cards (hello $$) or reaching a certain rank on ladder / 12 arena. Blizzard not investing in the game but in microtransactions is kind of sad, even if it's not unexpected.
So yeah, it does affect everyone, even those who don't buy them. Personally I just hope that they will also invest in the game apart from things that generate cash. You know, incentives that round the gameplay.
I think it's perfectly fine for a company to offer things which have no impact on the free to play game itself but can let people who dont mind spending money decide to buy some extra stuff if they so wish. I think it's very naive and childish to get angry or insult a company because they offer something which appeals to some of the consumer base to generate profits.

I wouldn't rule out new grinding...er ladder rewards yet. Blizzard does everything in Blizzard time. I bet these were planned for quite some time.
So honestly, this topic has had more fame than the infamous Caitlyn Jenner, who in my opinion is god damn sexy.
But thats off topic...
So the price of these cosmetics is a bit much , BUT YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY IT!! if you dont like where this is going dont buy it. Some people like myself LOVE WoW Lore, will do anything for Azeroth and Blizzard. But I have only bought a few packs when I had some extra cash, for the most part free to play.
I dont have much time to play, so the cosmetic part is nice. I cant wait! I play shaman, rogue, warrior and priest for the most part. I can expect to buy those since i'm almost at 500 ranked wins on the following.
Dislke; the fact that its golden. LET US 500 GOLDEN PEOPLE SHINE.. Dont just give it out... /sadface
No real issue with it -- their game, their business plan, they can make what they want and charge what they want for it. If anyone feels it's too much for what you get, don't buy it. If sales aren't what they expect, they can re-evaluate pricing or availability. Probably fair to say that alternate heroes are cheaper/quicker to produce than new heroes outright, what with the hero power and class cards not needing redesigned.
I suppose I'd care more if it had an actual mechanical impact on the game, but being cosmetic...not so much. People buy WoW mounts hand-over-fist for $25, that do the exact same thing as mounts they already have (and are paying a subscription to boot!).
My favourite part of most people who say $10 is too much, probably went out for lunch within the past week and spent $10 on shit food and ate it in 5 minute and didn't think twice about the money.
People who defend this obvious cashgrab are the reason why the video game industry derails more and more,...
Im 29 years old, maybe that's why I can judge the actual value of some stuff a bit better, but even if you're 14, you should understand that the work and effort a huge company like Blizzard had to invest in those simple artworks, combined with a tiny bit of voice acting doesn't justify the price of 10 bucks by any means.
And HS is already Blizzard's cash cow,... Being on the take with such a pricing model on top of it, is nothing but checking out HOW stupid their customer base really is. If they get people to actually buy this joke, they will align their prices in the future,... and other companies will follow. This is simple economics. If people are willing to pay a inflated price for a given product, this price will become the standard.
You can get a whole Indy title on Steam for 5$ or less, in which people did actually put a lot of work, but huge companies like Blizz are getting away with such a business model, where they sell basically NOTHING for double teh moneyz, because they managed to amass a flock of retards.
This nonreflective fanboyism, which makes people think that video game corporations are their "friends" and that they have to defend them, is stupid beyond belief. While you guys write at the forums how Blizzard is doing the right thing, their financial department laughs their asses off, because they make you their bitches and you even enjoy it.
And now you guys maybe get the problem: We're all in the same boat. If a horde of imbeciles keeps showering corporations in money for unfinished or unworthy content, the prices will rise and rise for less and less quality.
DON'T BUY THAT CRAP!
Oh crap 29, Jesus, I had no idea, give me just a second to bow down to your immense life experience.
I dont mind cosmetic products in a f2p game. What bothers me is that this means we will never see a Magni Bronzebeard card or anything practical of him due to this.. Cosmetic representation. I hope they don't take more iconic characters, turn them into pictures and say they exist in Hearthstone. The original 9 are fine already.
Each character should at least be unique to itself really, no matter how sucky Illiden or Nozdormu is at least they are special, not a clone of another guy represented by a different picture.
WoW, this is like when you walk by someone at the cinema, who offers you a chance to watch the movie you're going to, only in 3D. But, so, then, well.. you need 3D-glasses. And they cost like WoW, a lot of money. And with your popcorn, candy, tickets and sweetheart by your side, the choice is clear, you decide to stay in the hall an whine because you think these 3D-glasses is overpriced.
Exclusiveness is supposed to be overpriced. Because our world is all about holding on to class society. Yours sincerely, Trollololol.
I'm really just confused by the decision from a business standpoint.
Let's say hypothetically, that of all the hearthstone players, only 1 million are willing to spend a penny on the game, no matter what.
Looking at a simple demand curve would have made both blizzard and players happier.
With an incredibly steep price of 10 bucks, chances are a very small percentage of players will purchase the new heroes. 10% of those who spend money is a reasonable estimate. 100K times 10 dollars is 1 million dollars they'd make off one hero.
Now imagine if the new heroes cost 2 dollars each. I would think that well over 50% of paying players would fork over the 2 bucks for the hero, making their profit more than 1 million dollars.
So clearly Blizzard does not want to make money...?
Sure some people asked for this feature.... Which makes it all the more curious as to why they choose not to listen to something far more useful that pretty much EVERYONE asks for.. More deck slots.
Still i I was not 100 percent disappointed... Until I saw that they would be 10$ EACH...
Now im just annoyed. That they would waste time on being greedy for something most people don't even care about! While continuing to. ignore what would make sense and actually be useful. I'd gladly pay 10$ for more deck slots. I won't pay 10 per hero.. For a picture. And I don't care who does. It won't effect me. If people want to waste their money that's none of my business.
I just don't understand why they don't listen to what pretty much everyone in their player base truly needs.
Hero skins...hmm they cost almost nothing and they get some extra millions out of them. From what I've read here some people will buy 1-2 skins. I've spent 1k for all the cards but I am not going to spend any euro for skins.
Since they are going to release these skins one by one i guess we wont see any real updates for quite some time. :(
It doesn't work like that. You are guessing. Blizzard has the numbers and can decide which policy is more profitable. In simple words why they chose the specific price. "Those who are gonna buy them, are gonna buy them anyway, even if they cost 5 euro or 10 euro".

New animated hero portrait, new animation to hero power, card back, different emotes.
Definitely should be $4.99 USD or cheaper...

How do you kill that of which has no life?
Thanks, I couldn't have said that any better.
this is like mobas do with skins.
I have nothing against the price, idk about warrior but if they give me a cool rogue am in it.
