I can make them both pretty useful in decks, and I'm not sure which to craft. I would go with Grommash since I like warrior, but Malygos is a neutral and I like playing Rogue, Paladin, and the occasional Mage Which would all benefit from spell damage. thoughts?
Decision: Thanks for the input guys! I'm going to grab Grommash, I think. I feel like with the strong presence warrior has on ladder, he might be one of the cards to get nerfed, so it's a good deal.
Grommash Hellscream and for me, it's not even close. Grommash is used in more decks than Malygos is used in all other decks combined. For a 9-drop, you can put in far better cards than Malygos; in most warrior decks, Grommash is almost mandatory.
What do we have here, those who would defy the spellweaver? Those without foresight or understanding. How can I make you see; Malygos is saving the world from itself!
Grommash is a warrior card, but a powerful one. It fits in almost any deck and wins games.
Malygos can be used in any deck, but is gimmick as it was already pointed. Very few combo decks benefit from Malygos, and I don't think that they are viable at the moment.
If you are going to spend dust in a neutral legend, there are a lot of better options - Ragaros, Sylvanas, Dr. Boom etc.
EDIT: One time I think I did 49 damage with all of my spells and Malygos with the help of Thaurissan and Ancestor's Call. Blew my control warrior friend away to see me hit him that hard.
Malygos wants either Preparation, damage spells of 1cmc, or both. When you play Malygos, you're behind about 70% of the time due to having him in your hand all this time instead of another card. And so when you play him while behind, you need to get immediate effect. If your plan is to pass and wait to get the turn back, you're going to lose for sure to Execute, Equality, Poly, Owl, etc.
You sound like you are making a practical decision and Grommash is the practical choice. He's almost always good in nearly any warrior deck. Malygos is very situational and mostly is for specific combo trick decks.

If you're interested in playing a lot or climbing the ladder with Control Warrior, then Grommash Hellscream, certainly. In my position, though, I practically never play Warrior (it's still at Level 14 compared to everything else 25+), and Malygos has a lot of extremely, extremely fun potential in Casual.
You said you play Warrior, so I would recommend Grommash Hellscream, especially for competitive purposes, but if you don't want to play Warrior that much and just want to have a lot of fun playing the game, go for Malygos and own people in Casual. ;D
With a decent setup in dragon pally, he can get some decent effects. If you Dragon Consort to set him up, you can play a Hammer of Wrath, and in some rare cases you can get a turn of Emperor Thaurissan to hit either him or a consecrate, so you could play Consort -> Malygos + Consecrate. Refer to the dragon pally deck I built, haha.

Which one do you think would be the most fun to play?
Feel free to add me if you play on NA! iMPose#1429
Grommash - He ends games, period. Malygos USUALLY needs to survive a turn to make use where as Gromm comes in and murders.
Grom = Warrior staple
Mally = gimmick
There is a couple nice decks with Mally but not the most consistent in this meta.

Bah, you are hardly worth my time!
I can wait no longer!!!

I love Malygos. OTK Shaman with Ancestor's Call let's you play Malygos AND spells on the same turn. Even better with Emperor Thaurissan.

I was kind of thinking of making a dragon paladin with Hammer or Wraths and Avenging Wrath. Seemed good on paper.

He doesn't go into very many decks.
Grommash for sure. Unless you just enjoy screwing with people's heads ... then Malygos.

Edit: I havent played that deck I made, for lack of Malygos. Could someone tell me if that would make things more viable for the Malygos argument?
