I have been playing Demon Zoo and got all the way to rank 5, only to hit the wall. I'll win a few and the lose a few, overall going nowhere. What deck should I use? I'm seeing lots of Patron and Handlock.

Use a deck that you are proficient with and you win that has good matchups against what you are seeing a lot. Using the same deck over and over will result in a changing meta and you getting caught in the spot of the ''netdecker''.
Using the FOTM deck is not what I recommend. I was laddering with Handlock back this season and many people jumped with it since it has a strong matchup against Zoo/Patron Warrior.
Handlock is great at the moment.
Control Warrior is fine.
Mid Zoo is fine.
Many decks are good.
You need to find by yourself. Or you can be a sheep and try to copy what many people do.

Used to be a proud Handlock player.
Legend 17 times.
Still flirting with the ladder from times to times with Renolock.

Thanks I guess.
In other words, there is no perfect since you can't predict each matchup you'll face. But... you can play a deck that stand a decent chance against what you faced the most in the past days.
Of course... Handlock is pretty fine at the moment. Play Handlock, that would be my advice.

Welcome to the wall! From here on you need to play to counter the meta. It's good you took note at what you're seeing. To kill off Grim AND Handlock, you gotta pick a deck that's favored... I think Dragon Paladin or Waker Mage works. Good luck!

If you're happy and you know it... well that's good :)

I'm in the exact same boat. Broke into 4, but fell back to 6. Now hovering around 5 for a while. Can't make any further progress with mid-range zoo. Took me all the way here. Really don't want to change horses mid stream. I think I can make more progress. I've had a string of bad RNG. Just need to keep chugging away (and not playing while on tilt ;)

Either try a deck that is powerfull against the decks you are facing the most, in your case control warri , handlock with a shit ton of stuff to get through those early turns, or maybe a priest deck.
OR:
try to improve the way you play your current deck. Even though you might think you have figured your deck out 100% you still make mistakes.
If you record your games and rewatch your loses, you'll often see a way you could have played differently , and probably won.Learn from these games, and improve further.
That seems like a good idea. I find that I may also be a bit careless when I Imp-losion for two five games in a row and lose because of it, which may mean I just need a break.
Apparently you didn't use Kolento version, as this guy uses his demon zoolock every time he shows up. There are architecture and statistic in the 30 cards, and you will end up losing to pure math if your construction is careless. Seriously you need to post your deck and compare to Kolento's to see the difference, which is usually the hidden factor that costs your games.
Kolento doesn't use demonlock all the time ... he was playing Handlock other day, and often changes class multiple times during any one stream. And he plays decks like most players cannot.
On a more relevant note getting stuck at rank 5 isn't really that surprising. There is a pretty significant change in the way the ladder works at that point. You can no longer get win streak bonuses. Prior to that Wins are worth more than losses because win streaks can and will happen. As a result you climb quicker than you would have otherwise and it's even possible to climb the ladder with decks that aren't winning more than 50% of the time. Generally that has the affect of pushing a decent player towards rank 5 as long as they play enough games.
Post the win streak bonuses your wins are no longer worth more than your losses so you need better win percentage to continue climbing quickly or even continue climbing at all. This is one of the reasons why the meta tends to slow down a bit as you get to the better ranks. Quick wins become less important than overall win/loss percentage because the bonus is gone.

Makes sense, thanks for the insight.
Huh, I didn't know that either. Does explain a lot. Still, I just wish RNG would go my a few more times ;)
Breaking through requires tight play and good deck choice. You can either play Tier 1 and try and play it better/tech for the mirror, or you can try and hit them with a solid Tier 2 deck that's a good counter. You can also go off the charts and play something insane like Shockaddin or Malygod Shaman and try to catch people off-guard. Most of the decks up here can handle standard aggro well so there's no cheeky short-cuts to be had with face hunter and co.
Handlock is my first love, nice to see it back in the meta and strong. There's a lot of room for skill in your decisions, so I think it's pretty easy to get an advantage in the mirror-match through experience.

control warrior working for me atm
Thanks bro!
Unfortunately I don't have that deck, though I might consider building it.

even copy 100% from Kolento. You not pro like him also no use.

Just because I copy a deck doesn't mean I will automatically get to legend lol.
