In my experience, since GvG, Priest is almost never played anymore and Shaman is still very unexciting. What kind of cards or abilities could shake up the game and bring Priest and Shaman back to playable?
I like a lot of the Priest cards and I think GVG had some nice Priest ideas but the meta is so much about speed and value that Priest is just not a popular hero to use. So many of their cards need to be comboed with other cards to work properly. I think they need some early game options.
Give me some of your Priest or even Shaman ideas that could create some buzz with those two heroes.
Priest is absolutely viable and playable, it just isn't favored. Fast decks are favored as you mentioned, and I'm not sure Priest could, or should have fast decks that wouldn't throw away half their class cards. If you're going to that length, you're better off playing a class that does it better. There's some Mech variations on Priest that are a little quicker that aren't so combo reliant also.
More combo stuff for Shaman, better totems, maybe a weapon that buffs them. And tons of elementals, possibly a lgdry like Gazlowe that puts Fire Elementals in your hand whenever you play a spell.
Yeah I'd love to have some more totem and overload synergy, maybe also elemental synergy ^^ but as to shaman being bad? Look at 11point5ft, guys midrange deck which isn't that special still wrecks the meta and gets you to legend easy. Even my uncommon deck http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/203285-march-2015-outcontrol-the-meta has at the moment 54 wins and 14 losses this season. So shaman has more than enough to be succesful.
@plsDontShoot well priest maybe doesn't have as unfair mechanics as mage or druid but shadow madness, cabal, shrinkmeister and recombobulator and voljin are all quite unfair cards. + of course the awesome removal spells priest has.
What i would wish for priest is a good minion that works as kind of unsilence:
Stormwind Cathedral Cleric: 2 mana 1/4 - Battlecry: restore the status of an silenced minion.
So for example: you had a Lightspawn with Divine Spirit 10/10. He get silenced, you have a 0/5. When you use the Battlecry of the minion on your lightspawn, he return to be a 10/10 minion. Naturally this would also remove buffs that were added before the minion got silenced. Multiple silences does not count, it restores only the effect before the first silence.
Since Priest is the master of silence, we should have an effect that removes this effect too.
EDIT: changed it to a 2 mana 1/4, we have more problem with 2 than with 4 mana.
Priest is very viable and very strong aswell, i am actualy quite glad ppl arent using it that much. Hell id rather face mechs all day long than priests. When it comes to shaman idk, i loved that class when i started playing and it was my fav one but then ive jumped into ranked when i got cards and saw how weak it is to rush decks ;/ I cant say shaman is very weak, but its very complex class to play and imo hardest one. Its heavily rng oriented class so unlike other classes u actualy need to predict and play around not only ur opponent cards but on the rng of ur goddamn cards.Not to mention overload mechanics aswell which over the time i started dislikeing so much( and u also need to play around it aswell) Neptulon is great card imo, late game overload that doesnt criple u that much unlike other ealy game cards so id like to see some new cards wih that kind of desing and more overload synegry since its quite bad atm.
As a main Shaman player cant give advices on priest but actually shaman vs aggro got alot better with GvG when we got good healing at last. So Hunter and Zoo matchups turned around to Shamans advantage. Mechmage is still a problem though.. My March matches: zoo / demonlock 8-1, hunter 11-2, mechmage 7-5 while mage 12-5
Everyone always forgets that Warrior needs help too. Warrior has the least amount of successful playing styles available in constructed and is significantly weaker that the other classes in arena.
I would say these four classes need the most help from the next expansion. In order from most dire need of help. 1) Priest 2) Warrior 3) Shaman 4) Rogue

I agree , Shaman n' priest didn't get anything that good from GvG compared to other classes , they are still viable you migth say , but why would i play priest when i get way better results with mech mage , rigth ? ; Really hope they get some love in the next adventure , fingers crossed :)

Do you speak about Demonhandlock from December/January? If so then your knowlegde about the meta is very outdated. Watch Kolento's stream or some of the tournaments, Demonlock is a thing now and it's strong on top of it.
Demonlock is strong yes, but also not the non-plus-ultra. Personally i find Handlock harder, but as a priest-player Demonlock is simply much much easier to defeat, so i am biased. The thing is that a simple silence can wreck Demonlocks; when their Voidcaller get silenced, the deck gets much harder to play, since they cannot cheat their mana-curve anymore. Also if the voidcaller draws out Lord Jaraxxus, as a priest this can get so crazy: SW:P, A 6/15 Vol'jin and the best: Shadow Madness + Recombobulator... the dream!
When i think about it: i really hope Demonlock becomes more popular; maybe this helps priests. And a crazy class minion.

I agree, last month I finished 8 (ok, not a great success) but the funny thing was that my Priest deck was designed with an specific goal, Humilliate, Destroy and show MechMages how disgusting that Playing style looks to me.
It worked pretty well against aggro, zoos and big minions based decks (like the Giant's Warlock) and surprise, mirror match were more easy that expected.
Still not too good to become legend, but obviously I'll try to improve it (if there's room for that, I'm not sure if feasible)
I mainly relay in these cards: Wild Pyromancer+all the cheap spells (words and circle), Doomsayer, take control staff (Cabal S.P., Mind Control, etc) and AoE
My first idea was trying to make it without minions (obvioulsy, not possible) but you will find out that you don't really need too many minios if you focus your mechanic on playing your opponent cards and clearing the table.
Priest can do this better than any other and its healing capabilities makes a balanced Priest Deck a nightmare if you don't beat it before turn 8-9.
Haha, I've been running a very similar deck, specifically built to counter MechMage and other Aggro. It's definitely fun, and the amount of BM received can be staggering at times.
I like priest allot and I think if you play enough you'll know that at different ranks you face different decks and you have to keep changing your deck every time you hit a wall. It's not the class that is weak it's the imagination of the people playing priest.
If I were to add a priest card it would be like a 5 mana 5/4 charge creature battle cry silence a minion = dead belcher, highmane wind runner ect ect with no draw backs. op maybe needed not really want it? yes :D

I think we need a 1 mana shaman minion. 2/2 minion when destroyed you are overloaded one something like that
