ive got golden priest and i farm 18-20 with OTHER CLASSES sometimes, not with my golden. doesnt really make sense unless you reaaaaallllllyyy want to troll. chances are they were just working on a quest or just started playing for the season.
oh okay I guess that makes sense, by the way how long did it take for you to make to earn your golden hero?
about 2 months of farming 2 hours a day. since then i havent been able to decide on a second golden to farm and have 300+ on warrior, lock, and mage ;)
Yep, when I started in the summer there were quite a few scumbags doing it. It takes a special sort to mindlessly grind hundreds of games against little resistance.
I don't understand why player with golden heroes would farm newer players at rank 20, when they could trying to play at lower ranks
Well, hitting a golden hero is faster than getting level 60. They might just have got the golden hero recently, but are not level 60 with it yet, so they keep farming it. My shaman was 54 when it became golden, my paladin 57. Reason is: u use super aggro decks to farm golden heroes, so you play very few cards every game to win, you barely get xp.
You can imagine 95% Winrate here for quick Gold Farm etc
Wouldn't you have to lose a lot to keep dropping back down? If you're winning a tonne at lower ranks, you're ranking up fast, and have to lose more matches each time.
Personally, I think it's a dumb idea ... never done it, and I have 2 classes golden.

3 months of R20 grind... wow... guess you got all Golden, right?
I doubt everyone is doing it to get golden heroes. I think some people who have attained legendary or golden heroes in the past aren't interested in ranked anymore or don't have time to climb to legend again, so they're just finishing their daily quests at low ranks, where it's quicker to do so. I'd imagine these people are probably spending most of their time in arena nowadays.
It's annoying, but that's what's going to happen if ranked matches have no matching criteria other than rank. Maybe Blizzard needs to double the number of ranks to keep new players farther from the good ones. And maybe institute class-specific rankings and limit players to how far down they can drop in their rank, based on the level of the class they're playing (i.e., a level 50 warlock can't play below rank 15, while a level 20 warrior can play at rank 20). That wouldn't solve all the problems, due to good neutral cards accumulated for the level 50 warlock, but it would help.
I can't imagine this being useful to farm gold. It would take 30 wins to get a pack. If they play 20 games an hour and win them all it's going to take at least 90 minutes to get a pack worth of gold. Considering that a pack costs $1.50 this makes little sense. If they really are gold farming at 20 just rope every turn, they will probably concede to cut their losses.

Yeah I usually farm rank 20 for gold portraits during the first 20-25 days of the season then start pushing my rank during the last 5-10 days. Its just faster that way and as a pretty much f2p player the 100g a day you get from it also is another incentive to "scumbag" it where 30 wins at rank 10 or higher isnt as doable per day.
I actually blame the Devs for this dynamic. The fact is they have done almost nothing to make grinding the ladder rewarding. The only reward is a card back which is essentially a freebie and a legend back which less than 1% of players will ever see. What incentive does one have to grind to lower ranks? Like Senchae points out, it actually diminishes rewards to play at lower ranks, including the golden portraits. Even a 'best rank achieved' would be an obvious improvement.
You basically win one game then concede the next one so you're sure to stay on Rank 20. You can also auto concede against the class that is the specific hard counter against your current hero.
I've never done it myself but i guess that since Blizzard kicked out most of the bots it's nowadays the best way to get your Golden Portrait within a month.
Just curious

The reason to do it could be Easy Winning - fast Gold farm / Wins farm

I farmed rank 20 for 3 months to get my golden heroes back in june/july/august. fastest legit way to get golden heroes IMO.
what is your question?

Common but boring as shit.
ye it might be boring but also might be very very efficient (in matter of Golden Heroes and Gold)

I don´t know...i guess they just dodge win streaks all the time

How much wins per day you cca make with this method ?
