Paladin. i lick my chops when i play them. Aldor Peacekeeper and Equality destroy them because you have more threats then they do. all you have to do is nerf a few and trade with the others. they run out of gas.
It's probably because magicamy wrote on Tempo Storm that ramp druid (without combo) is currently the best deck. In another week people will start running The Black Knight again and suddenly ramp druid will be less powerful again. And the endless cycle will continue.
It's a bit cynical of me to conclude that people at ranks 5-1 are all playing a deck based on what one player wrote in an article on some website, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's actually what people did seeing as people who are really high rank follow the game and news very closely, and people really take magicamy's opinion (and Tempo Storm in general) pretty seriously.
Combine this with the fact that Druid has been one of the most successful decks for the past few weeks of ESL and voila.
The reason Druid (and Warrior) get played so much in tournaments is that even their bad matchups are only 40-60, so they can't get hard-countered in a deck elimination format. You see less Freeze Mage, Shaman, Priest for this reason.
Yea the only thing I really struggled with consistently with my ramp druid was paladin. Then I started seeing some different freeze mage combos that were pretty tough, along with some mech rogues. I think any aggro with a great start will put them on the defensive. I have had issues with control warrior, just depends on the draws.

I agree with OP. Druid suddenly became quite popular in ranked.
In past 47 games I played in last several days, 17 of them have been Druid.
I'm wondering why. Did some popular streamers got top legend with Druid or someone stomped a tournament with it? Like ESL Legendary Series? I haven't watch much recently.

Ramp Druid struggling with Paladin? Interesting... If it was a control Paladin with double Equality and lots of board wipes I can see Ramp Druid having a tough time, but that would mean the Paladin sucks against Aggro as after 2 consecrates+wild pyro they're pretty much dead to aggro. Also, Freeze Mage can dominate Ramp Druid, as you don't tend to flood the board and your strong minions remain frozen for the entire game,
Is this your experience?
Yes the paladin was full control which is rare. The freeze mage I kept having issues being able to pressure him enough to stay ahead.

So everyone started playing warrior a (few) week(s) ago. People took advantage of that by playing druid, since it beats warrior. Now people have started playing paladin, wich is really good against druid. And so it goes on.....
And all three get their ass kicked against hunters with any kind of decent draw and mech mage with good draw.

for lulz, slap a Coghammer on a Sylvanas Windrunner and watch them concede

Meta changes the moment you switch your deck.

I personally feel Paladin does really well against hunter.
