Been playing HS for about 2 months now. Spent most of my time just collecting as many cards as I could, playing with the basic decks and trying to learn the game. I decide it's time to make a deck with my excess dust so I make a budget mid-range hunter. Play a bunch of games with that and have obviously pushed my MMR up in doing so. This evening I have a quest to get 5 wins with priest/paladin. So, I throw together a Paladin deck and jump into casual. Half an hour of getting whooped by actual decks later I think maybe the deck I have made is just bad. Find some example decks and create something similar from my collection and that fares even worse. Another half an hour getting flogged with 2 random insta-concedes thrown in. Decide to try the level 10 deck since I know I used to be able to get at least some wins with that. It seems to fare slightly better and actually beats an evolve shaman (I think he just got bad draws), then a random concede, then I seem to run into a squad of aggro druids and take loss after loss for another solid half an hour. At this point i have lost what must be at least 20-30 games in less than 2 hours and the game is still matching me with people who have Golden Hero emotes. I understand why MMR doesn't drop as fast as it climbs but this is ridiculous. Changed decks again and tried a couple of games in ranked but at this time of the month level 20 ranked is a lions den. So back to casual and another 15 minutes of getting repeatedly bodied by the same 2-3 meta decks and after I get a reasonably good start to a game my opponent concedes. So that was 2 hours of frustration in a game I have otherwise really enjoyed so far. For the record I know one way to get around this would be to let my objectives build up and roll them every day until I have only hunter quests and I will be doing that in future. But I feel this is something that would be very easily fixed by Blizzard and them saying MMR works the way it does to avoid smurfing would be a lot easier to accept if the game wasn't filled to the rafters with smurfs regardless. For the record I'm still loving HS but for someone who is thinking about making their first major investment into the game things like this are really off-putting. Anyway, rant over. Proceed to tell me to git gud etc etc...
Nope, no criticism or insults, just kinda sorry. Hearthstone is far from new player friendly, which isnt helped by the fact that many use casual mode to complete quests with net decks for quickest and most efficient result or that net decks can be seen as low as rank 20. I'm not sure how to change this either. When I first started out, experienced the same thing and it was horrible facing experienced players with net decks when you are playing some cobbled-together hunter bcos its cheap. Would've gave up on it if I didnt have friends that play the game longer who showed me the fun you could have with a larger card collection. So, keep at it I guess, it gets better as your card collection grow but if you give up in frustration, I can't blame you.
Right, the problem is the player base and a development team that has turned the game into and extreme RNG based fiesta.
As long as you don't take this game seriously and you don't mind endless farming of gold, play it. Otherwise, just save yourself the trouble and don't play it. I have been playing more MtG Commander/EDH a lot more and it has been a great away from Hearthstone. If I was able to sell most of my card collection in HS like I can in MtG, I would have sold half my collection in HS and never look back.
Well this isn't only a F2P or low budget issue. I though let's try some new decks after reset at these low ranks (16). I made some decks like fireblood-paladin, otk-paladin, elemental-evolve, quest-lock, oppression priest even freeze-shaman (non of them low-budget). Guess what I lost like 90% of my matchups and got rekt back to rank 20. Every single opponent played a keleseth/highlander or jade druid deck. Even at rank 20! I know we are facing the late stage of the expansion where decks are getting more and more aggressive and the meta is set but imo there is something wrong with this game when things like this happen...
I definitely don't play as much as I was used to. Family and work don't allow that anymore. Nevertheless I consider myself as an activ player and I reach rank 5 most of the seasons. Ben Brode lately said that 90% of the activ playerbase is between rank 18-25. Well then why is the only goal of this game to grind to legend with netdecks? Obviously most of the activ players don't have the time to reach these high ranks.
Imo the ladder and ranking system is broken or just don't fit the purpose anymore -> grinding every month with the same deck and this for years now. They really need to change something. But most important they need to add new gamemodes. Why is there no room for new experience? There are tons of people who would love to try some new stuff. All right try it first in a closed beta or what ever but just do something because I'm sure not the only one who is getting bored after all...
Just queued vs a gold backed Mage in Rank 20 NA. Player waits as long as possible to mulligan, then on their turn 1(they are going first), ropes until playing the Mage Quest at the very last second.
I don't have time for a lowlife like that. Congrats person, you got a free win at Rank 20 for being a word I can't write here.
I just got destroyed by a warlock priest who cleared my board about 15 times- twice using DOOM from my own deck that he stole in different way... then when I managed to build board of 3/3's he used abyssal enforcer- a card that was reduced in occurrence right? all the gooddamn rng
Another useless fucking singeplayer mode for HS. How fucking hard is it to fix that broken ass game and add some real basic ass features to that fucking moneyprinter?
People who discuss and debate again and again for cards that will out in four weeks make me want to delete my account forever. Just tired of these 12 yo kids who think we care about their shit pseudo-opinion, even pros like kolento or thijs are often wrong about new cards so shut up and wait pls
To the guy that played Shadowreaper Anduin without even having his battlecry worth anything, yet won because also drafted over 9000 bg removal and stole the White Eyes I got from Skillands Portal with his Mind Control; while emoting trash me for four turns before I finally muted that shit.

People are excited about this new expansion? Facepalm. I see more RNG, high roll crap, and solitaire. There is nothing interesting and only bad things that can come from Recruit. The weapons so far are just more "let me play with myself" cards. Yes, I'll reserve final judgment when everything is out, but the track record of recent design "achievements" and balance testing failures means I need to be proven wrong instead of getting excited and let down once again. The new game mode was the best thing shown today; someone actually put real effort into it, yet you don't even need to pay for it.
Why are DKs allowed in arena? I was 11-2 with my, to be fair, pretty broken Paladin/Druid deck. But my opponent played the Mage DK on turn 9 and there was literally no point playing after that anymore. Doesn't matter if you have UI and Tirion Fordring in your deck. He will just constantly spawn new Water Elementals that keep him at 30HP and freeze anything you got..
Why are my opponents idiots? Of the last 10 people that played Kazakus against me 1 or 2 of them picked the right potion.... All the other times they picked the 10 mana one and then proceeded to do nothing for 3/4 turns allowing me to develop a board and push face damage so they had already lost the moment they played the potion.... Heck I'm clearly playing Miracle Rogue and 90% of the times my Bloodmage Thalnos gets removed as soon as it hits the board what makes you think that leaving Azure Drake, that does the same thing but has a bigger body,on the board for 5 turns when you could've removed him and swinged the game if you chose the correct potion is a good idea?!?! How these people manage to win 500 games with a class is beyond me.... Ok end of rant now you can tell I'm just an arrogant prick.....
Ultimate Infestation has no place in Arena. Please remove this trash card Blizzard.
edit: fuck spikeridged steed while we're at it.

Razakus priest killing you from 20+ out, so interactive. Solitaire is more fun.

The worst part of Hearthstone is when players play like shit all game but win because they have perfect top decks.
So fun to lose as priest from raza priest just going face and ignoring everything else. It's like watching somebody play freecell. So exciting.
looking for some tips on how to beat the absolute nuts or play better than 100% flawlessly
because thats what i fucking have to do to win a goddamned game it seems

2 Win Twice with Rogue quests. First win easy on first attempt.
Then constant losses for the next 7 games, took until a friend got on for me to finish them Man, I suck at Rogue.
