I had to do the math on this one. I had Chow and another minion (read: target). We're both low, I am at 4 life. My opponent plays Knife Juggler and Implosions the Chow--for four. You see where this is going?
That... slow... agonizing... ani... mation.... as each knife sinks into me. Each knife hitting me is 1/2, so that's already a 1/16 chance. (I assume they can't hit the dead/dying Chow, otherwise it's 1/81!). But he also had to roll 4 on Implosion, for another 1/3 chance. That's a 1/48 shot. Glad that worked out for you, man. He's probably posting about this in a brag forum here.

Decent decks for dabblers! Under 1000 dust, no Adventures required!
Did GvG not really add much in terms of new decks and stuff? I mean the expansion had been out for a good while now and if you look at all the classes im only seeing like 2 new decks that were not possible pre GvG but all the other decks have been around for a good while and only got like 4-5 cards max from the expansion and half of them are just better versions of older cards like Antique Healbot for earthenrings in handlock. So maybe the best is yet to come but I think they there may need to be something like a balance change to start bringing light to new stuff because with a meta so heavily revolved around a few really solid decks/classes it kind of chokes out some room for creativity.
For each class most of the same decks are being played (keep in mind im talking more competitive decks so im kind of going to leave out gimmicky decks)
Druid: Mostly ramp, mech and mill druid not viable yet
Hunter: Same old face and Deathrattle decks, Control hunter gets eaten alive by the current meta so it wont see too much play until a change
Mage: Mages probably got the most in terms of new decks, Mech mage and Echo mage are totally new and pretty cool ( mech mage not so much) and then there is freeze mage still
Paladin: Got a new Mustard deck which is totally new and cool and their control deck got buffed up to
Priest: Still running the same Control and Deathrattle decks, the only real staple was Voljin and the other cards they got are situational and not auto include. Also Mech Priest is a flop for now
Rogue: Honestly its hard to say whats even a core deck for them right now as their staple deck got wiped, maybe control rogue looks decent
Shaman: still playing Midrange with a few new cards and then there is mech midrange shaman which is debatable on if it is any better then them more classical one
Warlock: Zoo and handlock with few new additions nothing really new here
Warrior: Control Warrior with like 2 new cards from GvG tops
Correct me if im wrong but -2 or 3 decks and you have the same meta as before GvG aside from the few new cards in the old decks.
Recently I've gotten so bored of this game. I've looked at most of the top hearthpwn decks but most of them aren't good enough to justify laddering with. I'm bored out of my wits with playing huntard already. It's impossible to play "fun" decks because anything that isn't meta and cold-blooded and efficient just gets destroyed by either mech mages or huntards lel.
I went from rank 15 to rank 10 with ramp today, logged on tonight and lost down to almost rank 12 again. Anyone else get sick and tired of not being able to ride one deck to legend?

I haven't gotten to legend due to time, but I pick one deck a month and ride with it in ranked. Lately I haven't found that I have to sub completely out, I just have a few tech cards to swap out depending on what decks I'm seeing. My rogue deck right now I have a sideboard list next to my computer for swaps I make depending on what I seem to be drawing a lot.
I love when I get a string of face aggro or zoo decks because I have an 8 card swap out that absolutely destroys an aggro deck.
I honestly don't know how mages have fun playing secret mage. It's the most reactionary, boring, time-wasting deck. You immediately know your facing one, yet you can't do anything to prepare for it. I'm thinking about sticking Kezan Mystic in my deck just because I'm seeing so many lately around rank 6-7. It might be a winning deck, but how can you have fun playing it? I bet they never go into a game going "I wonder what will happen this time.." I know that's one deck I will never make. Complete opposite of my playstyle. At least with Control Warrior you can play around their threats. All I see on ladder right now is Aggro Hunter, Control Warrior, and Secret Mage.. not much diversity.
<= Decides to play fun deck, faces only aggro. Decides to play aggro, faces warrior and priest exclusively. I'm really salty about this. It seems that no matter what, I'll always end up facing exactly what my decks aren't good at countering.
Brawl saving the one creature on my opponent's side and clearing my three, both players being on fatigue with no follow-up in hand. Yeah right, "well played" you say, as if winning from a 25% RNG roll is any indication of skill.
Mages getting Flamestrike every single draft is random? umm, ok. And not having the choice to pick mage in the last 8 drafts is random as well huh? random is great :) Is the RNG factor not enough for you kids?

Random is random. It does not mean evenly distributed. I've recently had similar streaks of not being able to select Paladin in arena. Also, in my last three Mage arenas, I wasn't offered any Flamestrikes to choose. It's random, or at least as close to random as possible with RNG algorithms.
That may very well be the worst suggestion I've ever read here. The arena is fun and in a strange way balanced because everyone has the exact same random factors they've got to deal with.
Every step towards making the arena less random would mean making the game mode less fun and to some extent even senseless.
So by this logic every step to make it more random means making more fun? ?

No. You may realize that reversing a statement does not equal to a "logic" it's just taking something out of context to the point of it not necessarily being true anymore.
Ok so if you make arena any MORE or LESS random, it becomes less fun?

Er, what he means is, the logical converse is nt necessarily true

Druid Paladin Warrior Hunter
I used to play handlock.
Just gotta rage so hard when aggro decks don't just insta concede against my control warrior. They're wasting my time.
I mean it's just so easy - rank 13-5 in 2 days. Probably lost 1 game in 10 to aggro, maybe less.
Why didn't I play warrior before? Feeling salty about all those face hunters I lost to with handlock.
It's payback time - and damn is it satisfying.
How to become ∞ at arena: - practice, practice, win, dominate, profit.
20K G's saved up every new expansion.

mage is a fucking nightmare to play against in arena. maybe its because i'm relatively new to the game, but holy fuck. i cannot beat mage

*sigh* Getting tired of RN Jaina.
At this point I don't even care that I managed to beat the mage who played a T6 Nozdormu and T10 Jaraxxus + Frost Nova
Honestly, who cares if you don't get to control what the card synergy is if it always manages to hugely break curve.

wish i could hit the like button for this

Every class & arena draft should have the choice to pick some sort of AOE or no one should.
