Actually can't be assed to rank up because everyone is just running Mech decks, face decks, secret din. Only way to consistently win is to just join the club. Which isn't fun.
hate the bullshit rng sometimes that you have no chance to counter... my opponent was playing a mage t2 Unstable Portal. fucking Shado-Pan Rider. no answer to it. following this the second Unstable Portal. guess what? another fucking Shado-Pan Rider. FML
I just hope someone else comes with a card game that gets rid of some of the fucking draw bull shit. You just sit there and have to take it and there isnt a fucking thing you can do about it. So pissed I spent money on this game. If I would have known then how random and arbitrary it is Id have just played basic free decks. Same chances to win and less anger-inducing when you lose the dice roll. Fuck this.
Draw is the entire point of card games.
The problem with hearthstone is tempo. Tempo is STUPIDLY good. That's why if you draw poorly, you auto-lose most of the time. Especially in arena, the most minute RNG tempo swing in the early turns can just decide the winner. That's beyond frustrating.
It's also why it's not that easy to play tempo or face decks. Miss just one early turn with those decks and you're usually out of the game. Hero power turn 2 with tempo mage? You probably lost. It's that simple and that fast. Not particularly compelling game design.
I think that's why most people will admit that watching hearthstone is more fun than playing it. That may be true for a lot of games though. Certainly I spend more time watching people play this than I do playing myself, it's just repetitive and stupid to constantly lose to topdecks when you're winning because you just can't block any damage. Dumb.
I understand that draw is required for card games. It just sucks that you have to sit there and just "pray" you get what you need and can't do a darned thing about it. I know, the deck gurus will say to build a deck that removes some of the draw luck but that's not realistic. Your deck has to curve out and then you must draw into that curve at least reasonably well to have a chance. This is why many folks feel that the game is won or lost within the first few turns. It really feels that way.
Agree on the tempo thing too. If you dare miss a draw or don't have a proper minion to play on a certain turn it just wreaks havoc on the rest of your game and probably costs you the match. Just soooooooo much out of your control. That's the hardest part to deal with. You just sit there take it. Like being chained to a fence watching your house burn down and there's a garden hose just out of reach. Frustrating as hell.
Iam so tired of all these priests... Their 90% luck, 100% unpredictible and are slow as fck. Give me a huntard anyday they are predictible and easy to win against.
Some comment to RNG, although it was on my side that time:
Pala having 7 life left vs. Mage who is down on 2. I have an empty board, he has two medium minions, enough for lethal next turn. (s)he adds Dr. Boom.
I did not topdeck heal, taunt or damage/weapon, so I put my faith into the grandfather of RNG,Ragnaros the Firelord, hoping against hope for face damage. As an afterthought, I added that Leper Gnome. Well Rag did not hit face but instead hit a Boom Bot, who in turn, you might guess it, hit the Leper Gnome - gg.
I would really have liked to emote a heartfelt "Sorry" but felt it would be like making fun of my opponent, so i didn´t.

You and me both. Their turns take like 10 minutes a piece with the heal, buff, card draw, etc, etc. Make it stop. :(
I climb up to rank 13 -> I loose a bunch of games and end up at 16 -> climb to 15 again -> I loose a few games again and end up at 17. What the hell ?!
Such is life on the ladder. Crazy grind. I get "hot" and blow through a bunch of games and then hit the proverbial brick wall and drop right back down. Just so damned dependent on starting cards & the draws. Ugh. The top players say that final 10% skill(versus the 90% luck/RNG this game is) is what gets you over the top. Ive yet to find it. Still searching...LOL.

I just don't get how all these "Pro"-Players get these amazing win streaks from 16 to 7 ?! How do you do this ?
Its that 10% skill I mentioned. Really. I know some legend players and they realize how much luck and RNG this game has. But, they also have that litle bit of skill thats needed to break through. These decisions usually happen in the middle turns where you start to have some options. Its amazing what going face versus trading will do to the "tide" of the game. Or, if you use a clearing spell at the wrong time. Or if miss lethal. Believe me, I dont like to admit it but I have NOT mastered these decisions yet and thats why I can only get to like Ranks 8-12 each month. Thats IT. Cant go further.
It can also be decks too although with netdecking and the internet its pretty easy to assemble a deck these days so thats not as much a problem. I hear ya though - KILLIN ME, LOL.
I think the slower decks help leverage skill more, as well. I'm a multi-legend player, and In the Face Hunter or Secret Paladin mirror I win maybe 60% of the time while climbing to legend. In the control Warrior mirror where both players have to leverage every resource in their deck and have time develop their strategy to its conclusion, I win almost 80%.

That's why I like my combo priest deck, no one has any idea what I'm about to do, or when.
Druids SMOrcs me trying to get me into combo range. I play muy Dr.Boom in order to help my handlock to hold the line.Apparently, did'nt have the combo, and plays Swipe to clear my board (has a BGH and Azure Drake on the board). Perhaps he should have attacked first, Boombots kill both BGH and Azure Drake. I take over the board and win the match. I would have said "Sorry", but that would have being BM... and in fact I was'nt even that sorry.
I have all my lategame and boardclears which I would have needed to win in my last 10 cards, but I keep on drawing rockbiters and stuff. quite a lot of my shaman games have ended like this.
This game is stupid right now.

Posting on behalf of my opponent. 2xSavage combatant on board as hunter.

I win due to skill and lose due to bad RNG. :D

So...learn Patron I guess? XD
Just got reminded why i barely play this game anymore.
5 Paladins in a row. All T6 Dr.Secret. Nice Expansion Blizzard.

Plus it's crazy when you finish someone with Auchenai Soulpriest, Zombie Chow (2x), Circle of Healing, Light of the Naaru, Flash Heal (2x).
Had a fellow priest player add me the other day like:
"Why the hell are you at these ranks, when you pull sh!t like that off?"
"Because it's hit or miss, you either WRECK the opponent, or suffer through 40 minutes without closing the deal."

Too many whiners and RNG haters!! Keep that salt level high!

i hate whem people say the chances to get a legendary are 1 every 20 packs, mine feels like 1 every 50~60.
need take time to make new pic and signature using the new cards.
This game infuriates me so much.
-Retarded Paladin, where idiotic players can slam just about anything at anytime can still win.
-The boom bot that hits me in the face for 4, when there's 6 targets on board with low life, leading to a fireball finish from my opponent
-Arena, where the retarded players who draft with shitty synergy can hit cogmaster--> mechwarper --> tinkertown tech -->blast mage ....
Handlock is the douchiest deck
reeks of cheese and gimicks IMO
brb putting giants out for 2-6 mana. K pretty lame. molten should have a minimum, mountain should have a minimum PERIOD
you shouldn't be able to put out an 8/8 body out for next to nothing.
