I've been seeing widely opposing views on what sort of behaviour is acceptable in Hearthstone. Some players seem to think that any form of emoting that is derogatory or comes across as gloating is a form of BM.
I think that is too wide a definition. The emotes are there to be used. If someone says "Thank you" when you play something that sets them up for their next move, that's a perfectly acceptable use of the emote. When someone says "Sorry" when you draw a Wisp off your Unstable Portal, or says "Oops" when your Mad Bomber kills your own minion, that is also perfectly appropriate. It is a game and mild trash talking is to be expected. It adds to the flavour to the game.
To me, what crosses the line is when emotes are used excessively, repetitively or for no good reason. For example, players who say "Well played" after every move you make, who keep spamming "Well met", etc. Aside from emoting, other instances of BM would include deliberately drawing out your turn to annoy the other player, pretending to not have lethal and then killing the opponent at the last moment, etc.
The worst kind of BM are players who add you as friend after the match and proceed to either flame you (if you beat them) or gloat (if they beat you) and then quickly defriend you so that you cannot reply. This is the very definition of BM.
I agree, a lot people here seem to be really touchy when it comes to emotes and I don't know why.
Anything beside spamming and wasting time through roping every turn just because the opponent is a dick is totally okay. But I'm sure it's a loud minority on both side. On the side hating everything that's not boring/auto squelching on the other side the guys who really feel like to go out of there way to BM as much as possible. Most people are in the middle.
Well put, a lot of people get butthurt of the smallest things. I really don't care if Anduin apologizes or Garosh threatens, it's all part of the game. Thank you for this level-headed post.

This is statement is false.
From the losing players' point of view, anything the winner does is considered as BM. Even apologizing b4 shattering his golden avatar.
