So I find in lower rankes such as 20-15 people are still playing with some basic pre-GvG stuff. It's frustrating because for some odd reason OLDER decks are beating newer decks. Normally I end my seasons around rank 6 or so. But this season I can't seem to climb past rank 18. I get stomped by these .... these ... these random ass pre-GvG decks. Thing is not all of them are even last season meta decks.
Oh sure I get the hunter deathrattle every now and again but for the most part, I am seeing these decks that are so random that I have no idea where they are coming from. I mean Druids with nightblades, Ysera, and mind control techs in it. Shaman decks that are using ONLY basic set cards and somehow coming out on top because of a good blood lust play. I usually have no problem cruising to rank 10 or so right when I start ranked. But This season I am facing decks that are just insane in the sense there's no telling what type of deck they are playing or what is potentially in it.
So what decks are good for climbing ladder? At least till I can get to where constructed is actually a little bit predictable?
I was stuck in a similar spot and started trying random stuff just to see if it was fun when i chanced upon a great Mech- tempo rogue. The key cards are: Tinkertown tech, Tinkers oil, Iron sensei and an assassins blade. I when on a sick streak from 17-9. Try it if you want.
If you can't beat decks running nightblades then I'm not sure how we can help you
lol...I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble climbing but it is good to hear that there is finally some diversity on the ladder instead of the same 4 decks over and over. Post your deck so everyone can help and see if something is wrong with the build. The more information you give the more people can help you.
Was running mage aggro the other day and got stomped by zoolock running two hellfire that he put in there "for the paladin match-up". I had a good chuckle.
There are some random decks out there, but you can rest easy in the knowledge that even if they're randomly better at your match-up they're getting stomped by the rest of the field. To succeed higher up you need to run an efficient build of a common archetype or a something that's completely teched out against the meta.
It's the unpredictability on ladder alongside the fact that there is no clear cut dominant deck right now. Thus everybody is playing around with decks of every kind, and everybody's decks runs into some sort of counter more often than not. If you're running into decks with basic cards and losing to them, it may just be your deck being inefficient, or you just had a bad draw/hand, those losses happen every once in a while.
And i´m amazed of all the legendary netdecks playing at higher ranks in NA. This seems different from the EU ladder where i have my main account. You rarely see a complete "netdeck" before rank 15 in the EU ladder but in the NA ladder i face people with complete "netdecks" and golden legendaries at rank 19 already.
I still win some of the games with my F2play value mage (made the NA account at GvG launch and only did the starter quests for gold) but it´s damn annoying facing those decks that early in the ladder :P

From what I can tell, mech mage or mech warrior are pretty solid for climbing. If worse comes to worse you can always go rush hunter.

Handlock seems to beat all those random non-meta decks quite well.
