I've been playing HS a couple of months before Naxx was released. I can't remember the exact date, but whatever.
So what I like about this expansion : building ships. Pretty much like crafting a custom zombeast with DeathStalker Rexxar. That's an interesting thing and, it is available for all classes, which is a big difference between the Hunter DK.
I can't say I'm a big fan of WoW, I barely played it.
For some reason, when I hear the innkeeper voice when I start HS saying "Welcome to the tavern" and then game play is about space...
That doesn't feel quite right to me.
But the expansion just went live. More cards will probably be printed in the next expansions to craft better ships / pieces etc.
I just would like to hear the feedback of other dedicated players !
I love the way Earth rotates, it really makes my days.

Very unlikely, actually. There'll be some more stuff in the upcoming mini-set and then we will never hear about Starships and Starship pieces again. Starships will be like Colossus and Titan and the Prime legendaries from Ashes of Outland and the Loas from Rastakhan's Rumble. Expansion specific flavor and minions and keywords that just never come back unless like maybe 1 card in a specific throwback expansion like we had with Whizbang's Workshop.
Hearthstone is not suddenly going to be all about space going forward, don't worry.

If you know World of Warcraft lore it makes more sense. I think it was a smart decision. Gave us a new mechanic. We will have a mini-set for this expansion that will be the same theme. After that who knows. We might do the opposite of space and start digging into the planet :D
I guess you're right Mint. I never played World of Warcraft.
So in WoW there isn't like a SPACE theme persay. The Demons, Orcs, and Draenei come from different planets. The Draenei have a ship The Exodar that crashed on the main planet of the game. So they're just using that stuff. I can't say Hearthstone developers are true to the lore though. They like to invent characters that didn't exist in WoW.

At this point, I just assume that the lore in Hearthstone is either something Harth made up for the game, or maybe the storylines that they have are from an alternate timeline in WoW.

They do, but it's not as often as you might think though. A LOT of the characters in Hearthstone are from the greater Warcraft universe in some form, whether that is WoW or Warcraft or books or comics about the universe.
In a totally different chat I had someone ask who the hell Talgath even is. Well, turns out he's a character mentioned in one of the Chronicles books, as Kiljaeden's second in command who was sent out to find the Draenei. He followed and found them on Draenor and led KJ and the Burning Legion to bring about the doom of Draenor (which is how the Orcs needed a new world and ended up on Azeroth).
There are new characters in Hearthstone, like the main characters in the Year of the Gryphon (Guff, Xyrella, Rokara, etc. etc.) and most of the Explorer's (Reno, Elyse and Sir Finley, but not Brann who is a VERY well established character in WoW) but more often then not Blizz just take some minor character and give them more shine in Hearthstone than they ever had in other media.
I scrolled through this year's expansions and by my estimate about half of the named (legendary) cards in Whizbang and Perils are existing characters and about half are Hearthstone inventions. And for The Great Dark Beyond the amount of existing characters is even higher, since all the Draenei are existing characters in some form, and many of the other characters, like Archimonde and Kil'jaeden, are existing major lore figures too.

When in doubt, run their name through the search on https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Warcraft_Wiki
