For me, it doesn't feel like a card game anymore, feels more like a freakshow with highly overtuned cards. With every expansion everything gets more: more damage, more card draw, more healing, more summons, more ... Every round full boards are built, just to be cleared the next turn. Seemingly endless draws from unlimited deck ... Still tons of mana cheating, 0-cost cards ... For me, I think it will not get any better soon, it will only get worse, because Blizzard needs to make more powerful superhero cards with every expansion to keep players buying the card packs. Playing since beta, I have finally reached the point where this game doesn't feel like Hearhstone anymore.
What do you think? Do you like the game Hearthstone turned into or does it still play like Hearthstone? What do you think which way will Hearthstone go in the future? I really don't want to give up on zhis game, because I had so much fun with it, but the last expansion were heading in a direction where I don't want to follow.
I'm with you also playing since beta, things are just out of control man... look at the best deck we have right now which is Elemental mage ,cheap asf, the deck has no room for improvements anymore they literally figured that day 1 of the expansion, the deck plays by itself barely has any decisions making you just vomit hand , you got infinite draw , burn dmg from hand, you even have a OTK if things align perfectly , it's just complete nonsense the balance of this game nowadays but they have to do it like that otherwise a "tempo deck" like Elemental Mage wouldn't have the slightest chance. New overheal priest is a pretty oppressive tempo deck as well that cheats ALOT of mana but at least this one is hard to navigate that's problably why you dont see many people playing it yet.
I usually just get legend day 1 and stop playing for the rest of the month and focus only in arenas when i feel like playing Hearthstone again.
Yeah and Paladin players. For a couple of the last expansions is all the same: play a minion, buff a minion, go face. How do people even find this interesting to do?
Meh. Nothing in this expansion is really grabbing me yet. It's early days, though.
exactly this. I've tried a few decks from whomever makes the list for theory craft decks and so far they kinda stink. I've gotten slammed by my grandfather's decks. Aggro Draenei DH is funny af. Its slower than other aggro. Its basically a combo deck.
An expansion is fun the first day. Afterwards, the meta settles (or start settling) and deck diversity quickly dies. Having starships with Reno makes no sense.
Decks I already hate playing against:
Fire mage
Meteor shaman
You have to play on the first day of the expansion because after that the HRReplay scum just F5 until they get that deck they're looking for.
Just played against a rogue, T5 OTK. He had played 12 cards by the time I died (but was still at 5/5 mana). I am now dead certain that the team behind the game is incompetent. You can't fuck up your job this bad and somehow remain employed, this is lunacy. Maybe the team is great but the shot caller is incompetent.
There's no way they didn't know this would happen, no way. Keep in mind that I had a board (not that it matters since it's just straight face damage).
Keep this in mind: I had 4 turns to beat my opponent. 4. Name one class which can OTK (in standard) on T5 besides Rogue? None.
I had no agency whatsoever. There was absolutely nothing I could do. Nothing. I had more agency with Big Spell Mage, at least you had 5 or 6 turns.
I am beyond words by the sheer incompetence. Not only did they design spaceships which are board centered while still allowing Reno, which is major blunder 1. Major blunder 2 is designing a card (Quasar) which allows OTK on T5 with no agency. Nevermind the bastards who choose to play the deck and kill any and all interactions. In a card game for christ's sake.
Why would a bastard play such a deck? What's the point? There's no game, no interaction, nothing. *They're* not even technically play the game. This is as close as it can get to printing a card = automatic win. I sometimes figured, ''Would people play a card which meant automatically winning the game'' and now I have my answer, some bastards would even if it leads to non-games.
I've been beaten by aggro priest, meteor shaman and just about anything but in every game I thought: ''Well, I could've played this, I should remove this from my deck and use this instead''. That's fine, it happens. But that T5 OTK, sorry no.
Don't bother telling him it's not even a good deck and relies on luck. I don't care. If you have a deck which can lead to a card played = T5 OTK, you've fucked up to such a degree, you should resign and leave your post someone else since, somehow, no one is firing you. Have someone else in the team call the shots.
It's really too bad because this game could be so good but somehow they can't help but fuck up repeatedly. If it's not Azurite Snake, it's Big Spell Mage and now it's rogue with T5. They can't seem to release an expansion where there's no outrageous oversight going on. Sure, maybe they never draw Quasar and therefore lose. That's not even better. It's flipping a coin to win a strategy game.
Keep in mind that Azurite Snake was nerfed a couple of days after being printed. You didn't win by playing 12 0 cost cards on turn 5 however. And yet, it was nerfed right away. How long is it going to take before they patch this shit and nerf it? A couple of weeks, no doubt.
not suprised here at all. otk, aggro, cheap elemental decks etc. it's all been seen before. i'll just keep playing highlander decks and losing 9/10 times. really winning has become so obsolete to me, it's just not fun winning that way.
Yeah i dont get either why they even printed the starships in the current scenario of the game, dont get me wrong i really like them i think it's amazing but it feels so out of place with everything else they've been doing lately...
The quasar specificaly is a bad design card and im sure it will get nerfed problably to 8 mana and the deck never gonna be played again because it's obvsly a toxic play pattern that shouldn't exist, i think they print those cards just for selling more, not even kidding , they just bait people into playing this dumb decks than nerf it right away, this theory goes in line with their design philosophy lately I'm not just spitting things from out of my mind.
The expansion has potential i really like a lot of cards they printed this time but unfortunely the current state of the game is very toxic , there is a lot of things they need to address, it has to be a big change period.
It has been really bad for quite some time, but this new expansion is complete and utter retardation.
Getting nuked for 100 dmg to face on turn 4 (or 5 at most) in Wild from Wrath Paladin is beyond retarded.
If you switch to Standard it is same crap, but Rogue T5 OTK.
There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING you can do. Not even the aggroest of aggro can beat this retarded shit.
It is EXTREMELY CONSISTENT and you have zero options of impacting or slowing down the deck. They just play their crap and bomb you for a 100 and move on to the next one.
I am diamond 8 right now on EU server and today out of 8 games 6 were against that complete form of retardation.
I love how everyone laughed at Quasar in its reveal and now the game is quasar -> next turn guaranteed dead. Like, no shit making your entire deck free with Rogue's 20 draw options is going to lead to some OTK nonsense.
I don't think starships suck, they're just irrelevant in a meta where quasar rogue exists. Maybe launching the starship could cost 3 mana. I'd go as far as saying the Hunter one is extremely good just because of Biopod+Yodeller doing like 40 damage face OTKs.

Standard is dogshit and so is the Starship mechanic! They failed so hard with the expansion! I’ll stick to Arena for now :-)
Starships are underwhelming, which is shame.
getting Holy Wrathed for 100 face damage sucks.
The card art is the better than the playability of this expansion.
Standard or Wild? In Standard its doing decent at this moment. All my aggro crap is getting shut down fast.
I find joy in hearthstone through playing gimmick/combo/control decks. Anything else meta just feels boring as hell
yea cheap decks like elemental should be punishable for playstyle, but its so damn effective... frust
Wild--I should have specified. The Pala OTK nukes anything other than agro and some midrange.

Anyone who thought starships were going to be super good was foolish. Since when has tall that allow reaction been good in Hearthstone?
Fire Mage is going to get tuned for sure, but even then DK will still prevent anything fun from being experimented with.

Have you actually watched gameplay? Starships can get insane bud.
If you can get to turn 8, yes.
