I doubt they use whether or not a player emotes as a reason to ban people.
I also doubt they use user reports that a player is a bot, except perhaps as a reason to investigate further.
They've banned so many accounts in recent months, if the process was as arbitrary and prone to error as that I'd expect to see thousands of people saying their accounts have been banned for no reason. This seems to be an isolated incident.
My assumption would be they ban accounts by detecting illegal software/inputs, and that the OP was either outright botting or using some sketchy third party software.
And if that's not true then I assume his account will be reinstated because if he wasn't doing automation there should be no evidence that he was.

If only they could give me a hint about how they concluded that. Like what do they want me to do,jumping jacks to take me seriously?
They will never give you the details on how you were "caught" because that can give you information on how to circumvent their scans. Which is fair. But if you're caught unfairly, expect this to be reverted after enough people complain. I personally tend to side with them. I think you did a bit of botting or automation of any kind, and have been caught. Otherwise, we would see a lot more similar cases.

I have never ever done any botting, I don't know what to say about this situation. I guess my case is just really really rare.
I’m dubious. On one hand, I doubt they banned you without reason. On the other hand, I don’t see why you’d create a thread here to lie about it. I think you used something on your computer which was flagged by Blizzard as bottling, although you didn’t do it on purpose. Could you have used some deck tracker from some unreliable place or some shady plug-in for it maybe?

I don't have any deck tracker going on. Now they responded to me and supposedly they did more investigation and uphold the ban(!). That is just so unfair. All I can say is that, I HAVE NEVER used botting and I am accused of it for NO REASON. They won't take me seriously it seems. I don't know if I should push them more because they really are convinced I did it.
Have you ever used any software, other than Hearthstone, fresh and unmodified from the Battle.net App or the App Store or whatever, to play Hearthstone or to run alongside Hearthstone or to interact with the Hearthstone app/program in any way?

Never. You know what? Maybe since they investigated with an actual person, this account is definitely hacked. There is no other explanation whatsoever. Or these people of that company just don't really care about complaints and don't take anybody seriously.
I think I saw a similar thread on reddit (99% sure it was reddit) not so long ago
Some guy got banned and had to appeal like 3 times (first few times they only respond with AI on the side of blizzard) until he got to a human and then after some time he actually got unbanned
I'll try to find the thread when I have some time, but a quick google/reddit search should help you too
Yeah this kind of untransparant BS is really infuriating. My friend had a case in League of Legends where someone hacked and was playing on his account (characters he never played in his match history with crazy stats). He got banned and made a case he never even plays those characters in his 9+ years of playing on that account. Got ignored for 7+ months until he got unbanned.
If your account is valuable to you, make your case as clear as possible, don't leave out any details. Tell them what kind of conditions you play the game on (computer, phone, tablet, Windows, IOS, etc) what programs you have running alongside it usually and the state of your internet connection.
If you play Standard only, tell them that. If your account was hacked and bots were used on Wild, they can see that. And same in the other way if you only play Wild.
I really hope you can get your account back. Good luck
Wouldn’t Blizzard have access to his IP though? Surely they could check if the botting corresponds with a certain IP. Being unable to speak with someone does suck though.

Well there could be a few things going on here. I'd say most likely is you're lying and just trying to stir up more hate towards Blizzard. If not that, you may have used a program not realizing (or realizing) that it went against Hearthstone ToS. Either way, we have no way of knowing if you're telling the truth or not. Lot's of people just hate on Blizzard for the sake of it, blindly assuming it must be their fault.
I NEVER used automation at all, nor any program that is related to hearthstone AT ALL. This ban was completely wrong and now they even told me again that nope, no further investigation whatsoever.

Whats the update on your pursuit to freedom?
Nothing so far, now I wait their answer to the second ticket...
Did you post on the official Hearthstone Forum as well?
Yeah, for 5 days they ignore the second ticket by the way.

I think that might be it. Someone used your account and used bots with it.

Edit:
I think this was the thread I was thinking aobut - https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/1ef5cey/wrongful_account_ban/
although it seems it's about a different kind of ban

But why would someone else hack his account and use it to run bots but not make it inaccessible to him and then stop doing this of their own volition?
Like what's the profit incentive there?
Well I'm emotionally invested now.
Your thread on the Blizzard forums got deleted? What happened?
