Just dipping back in to clarify one bit: Like someone mentioned earlier, I'm more okay with Discover as a thing if there are rules attached to it. Magic Trick and Wand Thief I was generally OK with, as they were narrow channels of expected value. Venomous Scorpid... Not so much, especially with what is effectively rune-cheating in DK's. The other side is things that discover from your own deck, making effective tutors like Tracking and Thrive in the Shadows, where I kind of preferred Tracking's old "discard the other two" downside to keep it honest.
Honestly there are much bigger problems in the format right now than Discover. Namely the fact the top decks survived a rotation untouched, and are top tier decks in current meta without any alteration. This has greatly robbed me of my enjoyment of this meta, because it just feels like the last meta but with fewer options.
It is the price to halt powercreep and I am willing to pay it. But I think Blizzard doesn't and we'll see massive buffs for new cards
This might be slightly off topic but, speaking of Power Creep:
In 2017, (not that long ago) you’d need to have your opponent draw three candles to get a 20/20 minion (The Darkness). I was thinking about that and how much Power Inflation has gone absolutely off the wall mad shit since then. I don’t recall if the card was used at all back then but still. Astalor as a 8/8 minion 14 damage battle cry which can be cheated is light years more powerful.

2017 was an extremely long time ago in video game time, and the Darkness was one of the worst cards ever printed, wasn't used competitively a single time ever, not even meme decks would touch this garbage. Not only is it not a fair comparison to Astalor because of that, but they also have absolutely nothing in common design wise.
It's also funny you should mention Kobolds and Catacombs as the good old times because it was one of the most power creeping expansions of all time.
Since the introduction of discover, I thought, why the hack is it possible to discover legendaries.
I mean after all there is a reason why the card is legendary and cant be twice in a Deck.
In that regard discover messes with a fundamental rule of the game and that just shouldnt be possible. If a card is meant to be played once, it should be once!
Tl/dr: at least remove legendaries from the discover pool
As far as I'm concerned I would also remove the possibility to bounce and play them multiple times in a single game.

Discover gives Blizzard greater control of the outcome of each game. It's not going anywhere.

It’s also impossible to powercreep bad cards. “Powercreeping” them means making a playable version of a cool effect that sucked before.
off topic: Darkness saw competetive play twice: once as reno counter in Reno decks and once in otk switcheroo.
