I think the synergy available for Sul'thraze just hit critical mass, every expansion I try to revisit a deck built around this weapon and for the first time I feel completely satisfied with the result.
It is almost guaranteed that you will get to abuse the benefit of multi-hits through Defias Cannoneer, Hookfist-3000 and Pufferfist. Defias and Pufferfist especially are vital and surprisingly effective at going through walls of taunt without using every durability point on your weapon and not having any left to hit face.
And it is extremely easy to cycle through the entire deck due to the pirate package and the latest addition Hookfist-3000 that benefits Sul'thraze more than any other weapon in the game, it's literally the perfect 2 cards synergy.
And the icing on the cake is that it's pretty cheap to build, with only one required legendary that probably every Wild players has, Ancharrr, and only 2 epics, obviously the 2 Sul'thraze. I play 3 other legendary cards in the deck, namely Brann Bronzebeard, Doctor Krastinov and Lady Ashvane because I like decks that push synergy to the most extreme extent, but they are easily the weakest cards in the decks and I'm actually here to get suggestions to replace them.
Here is the list if anyone is curious, I encourage every bored player to try it out.
So go ahead and tell me what you think would be a good replacement for the 3 "bad" legendaries ? I was thinking Armored Goon, even tough it's the most powercrept card of all time, critical mass synergy is always good, and this deck could use more armor. Brawl, because fast aggro decks can destroy me if I don't draw Risky Skipper in time, and Sul'thraze really likes it best when there's only 2 or 3 minions, it doesn't like full boards because it needs to both clear the board and hit face as much as possible. And maybe 1 Axe Berserker or Forge of Souls because this deck is almost unwinnable if you don't draw Sul'thraze. Also thinking about Prince Renathal...
How does it faire against secret mage? quest mage? Pirate rogue? Even shaman? Discard warlock? Big priest?
Theorycrafting is fun and all, but this deck looks completely useless and memey since the top wild decks end the game fast, and this deck is focused on barely doing anything early game in order to get stuff going past 6 mana.
We live in a world where 6 mana deal 16 is really not impressive, when only 4 go face. It feels like a very optimistic strategy without much payoff. The conditions are just too tough to survive in a fast format like wild:
1. You need your opponent to have a board of stuff below 4 health. Not all decks do that.
2. You need to have no board, or your opponent will trade their board into yours.
3. You need to have defias canoneer in hand, keep it until turn 7, and skip turn 6 to play your weapon and do nothing. Even so, defias canoneer can ruin your plans and damage the board, reducing your targets, so strict counter synergy with your proposed combo.
4. It's just a glorified 6 mana deal 3 to 3 minions and 4 to an additional one. Warrior has better board clears.
Sorry to burst your bubble, the card is still unplayable.

It's not theorycrafting I played the deck. Win rate over 20 games is irrelevant and I have no idea, over 50%.
It does good against all decks mentionned. Of course big priest wins if turn 3 neptulon and pirate rogue wins if I don't draw risky skipper.
Big priest does literally nothing for 5-6 turns in order to get stuff going way past 6 mana and you think it's a good deck, I don't think this should be an argument to dismiss mine without even trying it once.

1. 95% of decks do that and no Sul'thraze does not need minions it can directly hit face. It's actually the best base weapon if you're looking to hit face and ignore minions, it does the most base damage of all warrior weapons, it grows exponentially faster than other weapons (except Gorehowl) with buffs, and the ability to multi hit and hit minions+face in one turn is just an added benefit. Please read card text before being rude.
2. What ? Opponent won't just stop playing minions because I have a board, and if they do I can just hit face anyway, what is your point ? The strategy doesn't rely on the opponent having minions, it simply doesn't get worse for it.
3. Defias cannoneer is not needed to win the game, I've had plenty of games where I win without Cannoneer, pufferfist or Hookfist. I think you vastly underestimate what a 7/7 multi-hits weapon can do and how quickly it can wear down an opponent. Holding dead cards in my hand is typically not something I usually do with this deck. I would have to draw very very poorly for that to happen. And the turn I play the oversized Sul'thraze is definitely not a turn I would call "doing nothing" since it's literally the turn I can start confidently clearing the board and hitting face every turn from now on.
4. Did you even look at the deck list ? The whole purpose is to buff Sul'thraze, it's never, ever a 6 mana 4/4 weapon, it's almost always 5 or 4 mana, and at the very least a 6/6 that keeps growing after you played it, and generates armor and draws cards through Hookfist.
Sorry to burst your bubble, the card is still unplayable.
Don't apologize cause you didn't burst anything, I'm just sorry for you that you are so quick to dismiss the deck with such bad arguments, that won't stop me for playing the deck and climbing ladder with it, and I'm sure some people who will read this thread will be more curious or interested than you are. I was not looking to be educated, sorry to burst your bubble.
You don't need a tier 1 deck to win games. And if you are looking for a tier 1 deck then yeah, you're probably on the wrong thread. But you're also on the wrong thread if you're looking to teach me such basic and wrong stuff about Hearthstone. Also be nice.
My big question is why? It's fun to build different styles of decks and a weapon synergy deck is neat, but sulthraze of all things? It's a weapon that runs out of charges fast even with upgrade support and ends up murdering your own face. If you're going to build a mass weapon buffing deck, do it with a weapon that matters like Wrenchcalibur.
If you really insist on sticking with sulthraze, Rummaging Kobold isn't an awful idea because your deck is based around 2 copies of a very fast quick to run out weapon, and you're going to get upset after the 10th time you get oozed by zephyrs.
Also add patches. Any deck with like 10 pirates is always better with a free draw a card. Pawnbroker is pretty crap, cut that.

Doesn't murder my own face anymore because of Hookfist. Wrenchcalibur is much slower and unreliable and unable to clear the board and maintain pressure at the same time. It would absolutely not work in this particular deck list, wrenchcalibur is more of a control/fatigue/attrition type of card, my deck list is an aggro deck. And it doesn't run out of charges as quickly as you think, half the deck gives more durability to the weapon.
Most of the time I still have a few charges when I land the final blow.
And instantly losing the game to weapon removal is something I'm ok with, every deck has weaknesses. Rummaging kobold is a neat idea but it gives me an unbuffed copy of the weapon way too late in the game, I think it's too slow to recover from weapon removal anyway. I'll try though, thanks.
My big question is why?
It's what keeps me engaged with Hearthstone. Favorite part of the game for me is to revisit old, historically bad cards and make them work with new synergy.
Do you remember how awful discard warlock was 8 years ago ? Now it's insanely good, yet it uses cards from that awful era that were considered absolutely useless like Fist of Jarraxus. That's what I like to do. Find ways t make Fist of Jarraxus type of cards better.
I'm confident Sul'thraze is good enough to be playable now, but I guess if everybody believes it isn't, I'll keep playing it alone until a popular streamers figures out a good deck list for it.
Yeah because I absolutely used the word destroy in capital letters. Is it such an impossible thought for you that a warrior deck that generates armor and pressure and clear the board can win against pirate rogue which is 100% pressure ? Sounds pretty normal to me. Doesn't mean it's a better deck, it just means it's a positive or at least neutral matchup
And over 50% win rate is not incredible, I can show you much worse and stupider deck lists that can achieve that. Hearthstone, especially the Wild format, is extremely match up dependant. If you can win against just a few meta decks, it doesn't matter if you get destroyed by other meta decks, you will have positive win rate anyway.
You know a better weapon than a 6 mana 4/4? Rusty hook. You get it on turn 1 while building a board. And with all the buff cards, you can fet it to 5/7 without having to sacrifice tempo. Oh wait, that's just pirate warrior.

Exactly, different deck entirely. And pirate warrior isn't built around rusty hook. Isn't built around weapons at all actually.
Pirate warrior is definitely a better deck overall. What point are you trying to make ? I agree with you. I don't recall naming this thread "Sul'thraze warrior is better than pirate warrior, 99% winrate omg". Why do most of you seem so offended by this thread lol ?
Look I attached my last game, a regular game against big priest (yeah I know, bad version of big priest) to give you an idea. I went through so much healing I doubt Rusty hook can do this. And you can even have fun discussing why I only have 4 games with this version of the deck.
You should definitely add patches he’s never bad with pirates. I would also add the rokara hero, it has swing potential and gives you another weapon to buff plus a better hp. You could run old Finley for a better hero power too.
i don’t get why people say play something different, wild is the most fun of you play and face off meta decks

Great suggestions thank you so much. I'm not so sure about Rokara because it could end up being a dead card a lot of the time, but Patches and Finley are great options.
And it's just the usual with Hearthpwn people hate when you try new or old things, I was expecting it. If you're not a popular pro player you just suck by default and everyone is better than you.
I think the synergy available for Sul'thraze just hit critical mass, every expansion I try to revisit a deck built around this weapon and for the first time I feel completely satisfied with the result.
There is more than enough ways to buff it through Upgrade!, Bloodsail Deckhand, Bloodsail Cultist, Corsair Cache, Grimestreet Pawnbroker, Doctor Krastinov, Lady Ashvane and Weapons Expert.
It is very easy to consistently get it in hand before turn 6 through Corsair Cache and Weapons Expert, while not having to rely on weaker cards like Forge of Souls or Axe Berserker anymore.

Holy crap! An over 50% winrate and it DESTROYS all current meta decks?!?! Wowwie someone found the metabreaker!
Can someone please play this deck and upload some video of a few rounds of it against current meta decks. I have to see this for myself!

One person makes a comment and you twist and roll all over the place like a goober.
Get some self respect. Nice deck, btw.
