anyone else think its complete garbage that we have to drop 1k gold and win 3 games in one run of heroic bawliseum to get the new ghoul queen scarlet skin its complete middle finger to majority of the population i feel like majority of the playerbase is gonna lose out on it
Yikes. The skin doesn't look good but it's such a scummy move to make people pay just for the chance of getting a skin. That's a new low and i don't expect much from Team 5 these days.
I agree, the entire game should just be free. Everyone should get all the cards, and It'd be nice if Blizzard would pay us a small monthly fee to play their game as well.

Standard, Wild, and Classic player.
Losing to Sire Denathrius makes me not want to play this game anymore. The Sire Denathrius nerf makes me want to play this game again. Losing to Deathrattle Rogue makes me not want to play this game anymore. The Prince Renathal nerf makes me not want to play this game anymore.
It's an even more scummy way of trying to get gold out of people right before the mini-set than the actual brawliseum itself. Like, I can't imagine how bad a newer/casual player who doesn't follow the game's economy and social media would feel if they entered the brawl and went 0-3. Heck even going like 5-3 is not beneficial.
I honestly would have preferred it if it was earnable through some solo content just like the Prince Arthas skin from the Knights of the Frozen Throne adventure.
The skin is just subpar when compared to the other Death Knight skins. I wouldn't complain about it so much if it didn't require you to play a mode whose rewards doesn't make up for the high entrance fee until you hit around 12 wins.

Was friends with Paladin, now Death Knights are my homies.
I mean devs at least add something else to the brawliseum rewards. It is not like it got worse now, just extra skin if you want to participate. But overall brawl is still a scam as it was before.
P.S. At least as a moderate high legend player you can farm all noobs who are going to participate for skin, so if you consider yourself a decent player good for you

You completely missed the point. I don't mind if they make people pay for a skin. Skins are overpriced imo but it's just a cosmetic item after all.
But if you pay 1000 gold and it's not guaranteed that you get the skin, how can you even defend this?

It's just a loot box with extra steps.
But neither are any of the other rewards guaranteed from Brawliseum. So it's not like pay 1k and get the skin.
the only thing that blizzard can listen to is our protest... if we as hearthstone players in the world, dont play the brawliseum, this will send a message to blizzard and they can rethink their strategy... we may not have a voice against them, but our wallets will speak better!

You're right but unlike packs, gold & dust, skin rewards will create fomo and an incentive for some people who wouldn't take the risk otherwise. Nobody is forcing them to waste their gold and some of them probably don't even care about the loss but it's still scummy to use skins as an incentive to get more people to play a mode which ultimately ends up being a gold sink for most players.
I want the skin, I have the gold—finally, thank you twitter giveaway for standard bundle— but it's in no way mandatory for me to actually buy the ticket and attempt to get 3 wins when I have the best deck playable right now because I'm 100~ wins away from golden Valeera and needed to craft the last legendary I needed. So I won't.
Does it suck? Yeah. Is it okay for Blizzard to be doing this? No. Do you HAVE to buy tickets to try? Absolutely not!
I have a different look at this. I don't bother even buying packs these days since I'm mostly an Arena player, and the only way I spend gold is to buy mini-sets or returned hero skins. I always have a stack lying around of about 7-10k, I spent 3k on the latest Diamond card out of boredom.
So this is like a fun opportunity to make my best on the Brawliseum and (potentially )get an additional award. It is also going to be my first time ever playing the Brawliseum, so some excitement is there. I don't mind losing and not getting my gold back (the whole point of it is spending, at least considering my gold movements), most likely won't take more than 2 tries to get that skin (which I quite like, tbh), but certainly will prepare and play some Standard game testing out the decks I enjoy. Gonna have to wait for the balance patch though.

It absolutely does create FOMO and will lead to wasted gold for some collectors that need to have everything.
I always compared those things to Gladiator mounts in WoW: super exclusive and a high commitment needed. Then I asked myself if I cared enough about the mounts to commit to it and the answer was no. With HS, I was collecting for quite a while as well until they started pumping out skin bundles every month and then I asked myself again, if I cared enough about some random skins to pay through the nose for them.
While I wouldn't say that I'm completely free of the bug, it got curbed quite well.
