This may already be something that people know about, but if you have Souleater's Scythe and Prince Renathal, at the beginning of the game the Scythe will remove Renathal from your deck and his start of game trigger won't resolve. Because of this I think it's possible that you might be able to run an Even Deck in Wild with Renathal, because this makes me think that Class Start of Game effects trigger first. You'll start with 40 cards and 30 life with Renethal + Scythe.
Now in one way this is stupid because it makes Scythe "worse" - making a minion in your Bound Soul pool a dud at all times. But! I see this as a major improvement on Renathal, making it so instead of drawing a Spider Tank, you're drawing Jace or some Stheno or some other powerful minion.
Really this is just a piece of tech for Questline decks, more cards to draw makes the Quest reward better(?) in theory. Though I'm only recently getting into Demon Hunter so I'm not super tuned into the deck building theory for the class yet. Thoughts?
In theory this might work, but unless you are only running three minions in the deck, scything Renathal each game isn't a given. And if you are only running three, well it doesn't seem like a good deck imho.

Yeah I don't really think that Even+Renathal+No Minions Demon Hunter is gonna be sweeping Wild haha. But it's interesting to think about how these mechanics interact and overlap with each other. I had forgotten that if Scythe takes Genn away you won't get his trigger either, which is pretty funny.
Seeing some moderate success at low ranks with No Minions Renathal, with Jace, Stheno and Renathal being my only minions for the Scythe.

Yes, start of game effects are inconsistent. The question is why you would want less health and more cards (thus a more inconsistent deck).
Yes, once active, you can reduce more cards and gain more value - but it's harder to draw the cards that progress your quest in the first place.
So Scythe and Renathal is an odd choice.
dude someone gotta try that with C'Thun, the Shattered so maybe you can get him as a whole
Actually C'thun won't get scythed because he always will trigger before scythe, not sure about other start of game effects, but I can try
Edit: Scythe eats Genn before, resulting into not giving even bonus
The same happened to every other start of game cards, except C'Thun, the Shattered
