I think the main problem with DK is that right now it's a jack of all trades master of none kind of class. The devs basicaly designed a burn - Combo-ish (frost) archetype, a control archetype (Blood), and a Zoo - aggro-ish archetype (unholy), but all of these are outclassed by other classes doing the same thing, but better.
Frost DK feels like a freeze mage wanabee, but demon hunter just get more damage faster, and even frozen touch mage does the same thing but faster.
Blood DK wants to be a control deck with obscene amount of health and hand disruption (Patchwork), but control priest with Plaguespreader just outclasses it, and technicaly armor druid also does what blood dk wanted to do, but faster thanks to the ramp. (at least, Blood DK is better than control warrior, but I think it just shows how bad control warrior is right now).
As for Unholy, still the worst DK archetype, out zoo ed by Paladin, and even Shaman is better than unholy DK.
No matter which DK archetype you try to use, you can point to one or two deck using the same strategy in another class, but doing it better.
They will keep buffing it because they want it to be popular like Demon Hunter was at first. Remember those 60%+ win rates? Every game on ladder was DH. Another round of buffs will be incoming.
Also when looking at the threads on this website compared too two years ago the game seems to be dead , there are very little topics and it takes hours or days before anyone says anything this used to be allot different. Also 10k people watching the world cup vs 100k+ in the past.
The first part says more about the state of this site than about the game, nowadays most of gaming community left forums at large and congregate via reddit or other social media, and the whole kerfufle when hearthpwn changed hands alienated a part of the audience for it, but I really can't correlate it with the actual playerbase for the game.
Frost is the only archetype that survived the process of refinement. Due to being the only deck that has a constant threat of damage burst and pretty good card draw and board locking potential.
When Demon Hunter was released it was right after rotation when every other classes card pool was at it's smallest. Death Knight comes out when every other class is at peak card pool which includes a very high powered year of the gryphon. After rotation DK could be in a BETTER spot than DH because DK will have an extra expansion + mini-set. I could see DK being really OP after rotation.
I agree with you in the sense that if you were to compare core sets only, DK would be extremely strong. But Classic is a joke, and that scenario is unrealistic.
Unholy is pretty good too despite what most ppl think, got legend before the patch and its even better now with Unleash Fel/Renathal nerf. It doesnt see play cuz:
1. Aggro in HS suffers from gameplay redundancy. If theres one new aggro deck with a good enough matchup spread, its the only aggro deck that sees play, period. Pure paladin and unholy dk are both new, but pure paladin is slightly better so its all aggro players play.
2. The Unholy dk deck most ppl WANT to play, the handlock-esque one with Corpse Bride/Giant, still sucks. If that deck was ok we'd see it all over ladder, cuz it fills a niche that is lacking representation rn. This is the reason 3B dk still sees play post patch despite being worse btw, attriction control is underepresented and the deck is still somewhat playable.
3. Frostwyrms Fury and Solid Alibi are warping the meta. They allow Frost dk/mage to win the face race against aggro, making these 2 decks difficult to counter with aggression, something burn decks should lose to. If the meta doesnt solve this dillemma soon we're all back to nerf waiting room I fear.
1.) It's just enough to crap on mindlessly aggro drones.
2.) Good matchups where you're playing a little bit slower than a turn 8 KO are some of the most enjoyable games I've had in years.
3.) There are straight counters to it; fighting to beat the odds is fun.
It's not OP it's just popular because it's cheap and adjustable. It's not like most games after 9-10 mana are wins; it's just flexible enough to beat other aggressive decks.

Running the same 3 blood deck. It's heaps of fun!

Make these LOW IQ frost dks show some respect, they like non-interactive facerino gameplan? Me too!

Kibler has been running Blood DK a lot and so ha s acouple other streamers.
DK Reno is an easy win now, and Dk Blood HandBuff is ridiculously strong

Frost is fun and strong if done right ; there's 1 Blood that's good if draws are aren't bad.
Frost is getting a bit annoying actually, but if you draw healing as blood it is an easy win.
Frost DK burn deck is ridiculously strong. It will inevitably win against any deck that can't heal through the turn 5-7 onslaught.

Post Deck Bros
Yeah, this frost dk is utter lame deck, the game is absolutely shit show rn.
Scamstone
++ so stupid and cheap
hey its christmas, whats a better deck than frost DK for the day?
Deck the face with frostwyrm’s fury. Fa La La La La La La La La
Tis the turn to play deathwhisper. Fa La La La La La La La La
Give all your spells plus two damage, Fa La La fa La La fa La La La la
Play your hand for lethal damage. Fa La La La La La La La
Frost is fun for 3 reasons.
1.) It's just enough to crap on mindlessly aggro drones.
2.) Good matchups where you're playing a little bit slower than a turn 8 KO are some of the most enjoyable games I've had in years.

Seems like they did a good job balancing the Class to me.
they did a horrible job with DH. I think that's what it throwing you guys off. YOu wanted it to be terribly unbalanced like DH.
