I agree. There might have been similarly busted cards in the past, but they were always dependent on synergy. Guff is just obviously busted and would see play in any deck that isn't agro. After the first use, you will still have the same mana as your opponent after using the hero power. Personally, I would nerf Guff so that the battlecry and hero power effect both players, but I really hate the card.
Great nerf could also be to give your opponent the battle cry as well. Both players get the extra mana cap, crystal and card. Sure they get the hero power, but at least it wouldn't be all upside.
Nerfing bran is a horrible idea. The card sucked in wild for at least 2 years (aka it was an ultra greedy card) and before you nerf it for standard just rotate it back
Even post-nerf this is still one of the most anoying cards to play against. It just feels so unfair and makes a mockery of the concept of mana cost for cards. He enables so many combinations of cards that the devs. obviously know are broken (and hence prohibited through a total mana cost > 10). Even if they remove the option to draw cards with the hero power I think people would still play him (even though that in itself is really good, particularly with 20 mana).
They reaslied that a Brann/Denathrius combo (with Kael'thas Sinstrider) was shit to play against and nerfed it, but not for Druid...that shit can still come down on turn 8 or so.
It's just really depressing to think he's going to be in standard for another year. Makes you wonder what other broken shit will appear with the new set?
It's been a while since the creation of this thread (and yes, it probably should have been a salt-thread comment, but all good), and after some time getting used to him being around, I do agree that there are definitely more problematic cards than him right now.
Personally, I find cards like Theotar and that 7-mana murloc to be more of a problem. But that's just me.

To make it balanced they just need to make both battlecry and heropower affect both players.

That would really make the card borderline useless, to be fair. The whole point of giving up your turn 5 (because that's often a big swing turn) is to sacrifice it for something powerful. It's also why many cards that do something good for both you and the opponent can be overall a bad idea (in terms of strategy)

I love that card, made him golden today. There are many cards, which deserve the nerf like Denathrius.
I don't think they would do an early rotation of a card that's already set to rotate out in less than six months.
