Not really climbing honestly. I lost my will to climb years ago.
If only Team 5 would give players a legendary card for reaching legend each month as a reward, I'm pretty sure things would be really different for many, hehe.
One thing that has me wanting to play more recently, is the fact we can buy older card backs with gold now. I've missed so many of them, so now being able to buy my favourites is giving me new juice to play. They're 500g a piece, but one thing I had always wanted was a way to get CB's I'd missed in the past.
Haha, I have been using the same card back for years, but for each its own. ;)
This one, the Hogger card back:
:
:)
The Hogger one is really nice.
I have a bunch from 2016 when I started playing I would like to get... I think 2020 had some of the coolest ones though, so will be going for a mix of old ones I missed, and newer ones I missed.
Do they never sell them in the cash shop any more? I got 3 from there that I had missed (thrall, c'thun and cupcake) I know they did the Naxx one and I missed that, and some others. Hopefully they will come back. I don't mind spending the price of a pack on a CB, it's way cheaper than the 5 x packs in gold value.
Sorry for replying so late, I was very busy.
I'm pretty sure they will continue selling old card backs in the shop, albeit from time to time.
Meta ia horrible. Either imp locks kill you turn 6 or mage grinds you and your dead to hero power ping. No inbetween. Quickest ive taken a break after a expansion. Not sure they can fix it.. i think Sire Is a huge problem and is warping the meta via ita existence.

I hate Imp Warlock with passion.
Not had much of an issue with it personally. I am mostly playing big spell mage though, so maybe it's a good match up for me.
I'm planning on Upgrading to the full 40 card freeze deck, but I feel I'm better off playing Big Spell for now as I have 6 Card sets to learn (as well as the stuff in core that I don't know) so the easier to pilot deck is probably a better idea... Spooky Mage looks great though, and I think the Freeze mechanics right now are one of the only things that can hang with decks that are putting up big minions that cannot be countered bu silencing them... freezing is the one tool we have keeping that in check right now.
I was planning on playing Ramp Druid, but pretty much shelved it for now as I think too many people are playing decks to purposely counter it... got ruined by this boar priest last night. I think though as IO didn't read the boar cards when he played them, I doomed myself by not silencing at least one of them.
TBH all he did pretty much was keep using those zero cost trade cards to get his combo and then got that weapon that completely ruins ramp druid... the winrates for Druid mostly actually come from Aggro, Ramp Druid is sitting bellow the good mage decks and the good hunter decks by quite a bit.
I guess I should go and read about these boar decks as I was not prepared at all for it. I guess it's fun in a way just learning the other decks by playing against them though, I don't need prior knowledge on everything before playing.
Big Spell mage though dude. great deck. I have won most of my games with it so far, it's just so versatile so you are rarely having a dead hand and turns where you can't gain tempo.
EDIT: just seen the reply on the card backs. yeah I hope they do, as would like to buy a lot of them. Right now I'm probably better off buying packs though as there are so many cards I still need... well really I have most of the sets complete, it's just the ;legendary and epic cards that mostly elude me now.
Those welcome back bundles really helped, I was gutted when they took them from my store though. I thought I had two weeks to get all 3 levels on all of them, but i only got level 2 of nathria and level one of the big card bundle and the small one as well... I think maybe they know if someone buys all those bundles that they'll probably get all the cards and that's not good for them, so if you buy too many they cut you off or something...
who knows, mate. I have been contacting customer support to find out why they took them away early, but I can't get a straight answer on it. They always act like they don't actually know what's going on, and that they have zero power anyway...
I mean the last part is true, but they can give "luck" to players which essentially means certain value cards will drop faster, this much I know to be true because they've done it for me before after getting abysmal luck on big card bundles.
You contact them and they give you some "luck" which is actually them improving your rates of getting legendary and epics in the next X amount of card packs opened. it's how I got my 2 golden legendary, 1 regular legendary, 1 epic and one golden rare pack. was insane... I have a pic of the pack saved on my desktop I think if you wanna see, ha ha.
I hit rock bottom at nearly 10,000 legend (my worst rank ever) and then played a Secret Pure Paladin deck I made. I have climbed back to 6000 legend - woo hoo - and it is actually decent against everything but Mage. The problem is Mage is over half my games.

Would like to see your deck, please. I keep pulling card for Pally so I feel like I'm going to be able to run some stuff soon. I just need their colossal and hero now pretty much.
I think the best deck right now for those, like myself, who just want a quick run to Diamond 5 and then goof around has got to be the Beast Druid deck. Easy and quick deck. If they wipe your board around turn 4 or 5, just concede and move to the next match. Had about a 60% WR on my climb.

Sorry for the delayed response. I have been using this deck recently and I've had a positive win-rate against everything but Mage. Druid is close to 50-50, but I have it currently slightly better than that.

Thanks, I will upload the deck to my game.
I have a lot of the cards for this though, so will try it once I can complete the deck.
EDIT: uploaded it. Just missing 1 x Elitist Snob, Cariel and the Colossal card. Hopefully will have them soon enough.

I have always love the decks using Auctioneer so I'm having fun right now, the deck is really hard to play perfectly, you barely have the time to do everything on Auctioneer turns so a lot of quick thinking required and quick apm its cool. :
Having somewhat surprisingly good results with Secret Mage so far. I got Orion randomly in a pack, and so I have tried to make use of him since. Most people queueing into me expect me to run the Big Spell Ping KT/Sire package, so it almost always catches them off guard. And then the real mindgames begin when I get Orion rolling and he keeps buffing himself and casting secrets.
Implock and Quest Priest are the bane of my existence though, but I haven't seen many that much of them on ladder.
Climbed to D5 with Evolve Shaman early in the month, but after the Snowfall Giants nerf I switched to Ramp Druid. I thought the most popular lists were pretty bad, especially because if you idn't draw Denathrius/Guff (or if your Denathrius got stolen) you would auto lose every single time. So i added some Oracles, Giants and Ivus which worked out great... until Aggro Druid got popular. I can beat every other deck (except Imp Warlock) at 70%+ WR but against that specific druid list i’m at 5% to 10% tops. So i’m having fun but i don’t see myself getting anywhere close to legend unless they get hit with a nerf without my list getting hit too, which is highly unlikely.
I hit legend with a beasthunter deck that ran a denathrius in it. It was fairly easy. I've reached legend about 4-5 times but never with anything else than hunter :( I am one of those that simply can't play the top tier decks, such as denathrius druid, shaman, imp warlock or skeleton mage.
I am having a lot of fun with xBlyzes XL demon hunter. Not sure if it can be classified as control, but ut can do somebdisgusting things and it constantly generates big boards. Mage feels unwinnable, but it autowins against a lot of other decks. Like aggro druid. It's great that i can take my final class to 1k wins now. They will parobably also dodge balance changes.
