A few new cards seem over tuned and a few entire archetypes seem to be majorly lacking in tempo, draw, value or whatever the game plan would be (Dh relics, Warrior Enrage, etc.) Hopefully some minor balance changes and the mini set to come balance Standard out a bit more than it currently is
I think if enrage/buff warrior becomes meta it will be just as anoying as all the other OTK decks. Uninteractive drivel...
I'm absolutely certain if I see Brann, Mad Duke and Mutanus in one more deck, I'm gonna puke.
Well, I play all those cards only because I see Sire Denathrius in 99,9% of the decks I face. If Sire Denathrius doesn't get a serious nerf, I will assure you people will keep playing all the cards you hate to face.
Which brings me to my point. Every single game I lose is against Sire Denathrius. Although there are lots of different deck that uses this card, It becomes very tedius and boring.
I dont think I've ever seen a meta where there are so many decks that can just spew out endless minions over and over again.
Hunter - endless dormant minions
Druid - endless 3/3 rushers
Mage - endless skeletons
Warlock - endless Imps
What in the actual hell is occurring???
And exactly that is the problem. Bliz knew exactly what they were doing when they brought out Sire Denathrius . The card would only work if classes can spit out minions like crazy, which is exactly what happens. They sold their expansion very, very well.
Except, people will get bored pretty fast losing against the one same card over and over and over again.
This Expansion, this Game is absolutely crap right now. Who ever wanted to support aggro with cthun Denathrius, which doesnt even needs support cards like cthun, needs to be fired. Relics, evolve shaman, steal priest, all way to slow... worst expansion since years in my opinion.
My first thoughts is that the expansion is largely fun except for a small couple of HEINOUSLY bad actors
Number one is Sire Denathrius. This card just should not fucking exist. Ever. He is far too easy to power up for too many decks but ESPECIALLY abusable in Druid - and mind you, this comes from me playing PRIMARILY druid so far this expansion in order to win games. It is just way too easy to ramp, play a Capture Coldtooth Mine somewhere along the way to guaranteed grab my win con, start playing my Scales and Flipper Friends, and then just turbocharge the crap out of Sire for no effort, just playing the gameplan I want to play anyway, and from there set up a 60-70 damage instant win via playing him and Brann. Of course, part of the bad actor here is Brann, who I also feel is just a flat mistake in the current game environment, but he at least allows for more fun and explorative deck creation and synergies than Sire.
But even outside of druid, the card is just way too easy to turbo charge through little to no effort and then OTK with. And in the cases where you aren't OTK-ing with him, he for SOME REASON is also a 10/10 with Lifesteal, so in any game where I have to use him reactively, I am probably still winning the game because I wiped my opponent's board, gained 15-30 life back, and I have a 10/10 with further stabilizing potential remaining on the board. The card is a heinous design.
Second thought: Jesus christ, Freeze mage/shaman is still the single most boring deck to play against in the game, and they have too many tools available to keep a board nearly permanently locked down. Whenever they are around, they just incentivize the entire meta to devolve into degenerate face-and-burn or OTK strategies to be the only viable solution. I have said it time and time again, but the game should actively encourage the game and boardstate to be the main focus of ALL matches. Not the Majority. All. Every single meta where the tempo and board are rendered obsolete because it can always be answered in an instant, has devolved into the worst metas the game have ever had, and so far I fear that this expansion is once again rapidly descending down that road. I am not looking forward to it.
As soon as something is being done about Sire Denathrius and the warlock package, I'm sure the complaints will come in for Skeleton mage. After a couple of weeks that will get a nerf too and then people will complain about how annoying thief priest is with all their stealing.
it's funny how shaman is always either the dumpster class or the supreme one and everytime it's top meta the game is basically unplayable.
this is so incredibly accurate. every time shaman is at it's best, the game sucks massive dong. it was like this with tunnel trogg, then with even shaman/shudderwock shaman, then came galakrond shaman.
this meta is not bad, but the fact that hearthstone is turning into a bad experience when shaman is good AND popular, is pretty alarming. just shows how bad the class design is because the class identity of druid and shaman seems to be "be annoying and make the game feel like the single player mode"
they could nerf Guff in the way that you do not ramp automatically.
means you still nerf this b***h to 6 or 7 mana, but the only way you go past 10 mana is if you press the hero power and select gain an empty mana cristal (to a max of 20).
this would make the card fair, which means it would kill the card, which i'm totally fine with.
Brilliant macaw should be removed or nerfed to 6, it got completely out of control. Same as the vile library. Guff should cost 6 mana. Theotar and Denatrius are very annoying, but they somehow balance each other.
The warlock imp package is getting nerfed for sure (probably the draw, either to 3 or 4 mana, likely 3).
The solution to Denatrius is prety easy, just remove the lifesteal tag from him and change cost to 9 mana. Druid won't be able to pull him out of his deck every time (unless they remove all >9 mana cards, which they do use now) and Denatrius becomes ONLY a finisher. For classes like Shaman that lack a good heal, that card is not gonna be as exciting.
Oh, also - I know the WR on Rogue is very low, but boy did they manage to make Rogue annoying again. It's not even about losing, it's about waiting forever for them to complete their turn. And I am a Rogue main so that should give you a perspective.
My first thoughts is that the expansion is largely fun except for a small couple of HEINOUSLY bad actors

Yea, if Board gets removed due to everyone playing Freeze Shaman, we would be left stuck with Shaman and Quest Hunter (to answer it), lolz.
Fortunately it's not that Dark (yet), but surely once Implock and Wildseeds get the Nerf Bat, such scenario doesn't seem too far off from becoming reality.

WHO?

Well, number 1 is and answer to number 2...
Amen
Also, Theotar is pretty toxic specially with piranhas in shaman, this card should not exist imo.
it's funny how shaman is always either the dumpster class or the supreme one and everytime it's top meta the game is basically unplayable.
As long as Kidnap (rogue secret) allows opponent to trigger battlecries, it will be a valuable tech tool but for the rogue opponent
People must be getting mad with this expansion, can't get a game without BM in the end. Seriously, calm down.
it's funny that people are complaining about Denathrius AND Theotar, since one really counters the other.
biggest problems are still Guff and brilliant macaw.
As soon as something is being done about Sire Denathrius and the warlock package, I'm sure the complaints will come in for Skeleton mage. After a couple of weeks that will get a nerf too and then people will complain about how annoying thief priest is with all their stealing.
Like we all know, true balance won't be found.
this is so incredibly accurate. every time shaman is at it's best, the game sucks massive dong. it was like this with tunnel trogg, then with even shaman/shudderwock shaman, then came galakrond shaman.
