Let’s be honest, overall this expansion is bad ass.
There are so many viable decks to play right now! Literally every class has multiple archetypes they can play and successfully climb with.
I’ll address everyone whining about 2 particular archetypes now…
druid: if you’re that upset about Druid then play an agro deck. It’s that simple…I do believe they will need the 10 mana card to have a maximum number of infuses, but until then, play agro. Otherwise there are multiple options of dealing with it. Mutinous, swap cards with them with the new legendary or play thief priest.
imp warlock: survive the first 6 turns and you win. Shaman and Paladin both destroy imp warlock. I do believe the location will get a nerf to the health given, but until then, survive past t6….
TL:TR - I think this meta is super bad ass and I think it’s been a long time since we’ve seen every class have a legitimate deck to play and a long time since we’ve seen so many different archetypes able to be played.
I agree, also druid and warlock both looked like the strongest choices going into this expansion so most people would've started off playing those 2 classes the most to begin with and we yet might see the true mvp shine in a week or 2.
But I've already made 8 decks that all seem really good and almost all of them have 10+ new cards in them, one of them has 20. Infuse/swarm hunter seems like my strongest so far followed by a new quest DH, having lots of fun with both of them and both classes have historically been in my bottom 3 favs too...
There are some definite nerfs incoming but I don't think there'll be too much to begin with, the location and draw for implock are both worthy contenders but for druid I do honestly just think it's Guff that's the only problem still.
I disagree - it's a clusterfuck of unbalanced, un-fun nonsense.
Imp games are over by turn 3, priest games can be over by turn 5. None of this has (imo) been properly balanced/playtested (or we're looking at the cynical view "make the new stuff OP so people buy it"). We're back into the game style of "don't have a counter - you lose", except you're looking at that happening in the first few turns of the game.
Did we really need a new miracle rogue archetype? I mean, I guess it was always so much fun watching the opponent draw their entire deck while you wait patiently. This time round they get some giant stealthed minions and a giant weapon too! How exciting...
Mage - woohoo - unavoidable endless damage. You get a freeze, you get a freeze you get a freeze!
Druid is always irritating to play against (and alaways will be as long as Guff is in standard). If it wasn't for Guff (and perhaps cold tooth mine) I think druid would be pretty poor this expansion.
As for paladin, shaman, warrior, DH and hunter I have seen zero of them since the expansion launched (I mean literally zero), so I cant comment on their decks.
I realise this is just how things are, but it really pisses me off to play against identical, net-decked decks the first 10 games of the new expansion.
I think I might just play duels for now - probably more balanced
I haven't tried imp warlock in standard, but in wild it's actually tons of fun. I don't think my deck is refined or anything, but galakrond package feels insanely good with the imp package. Moreover, I was very hesitant to craft Imp king rafaam, because I don't feel like he has a place in my list, and I still managed to climb from bronze 10 to diamond 10 in few hours (no bonus winstreak stars)
I appreciate the impact the expansion has on the Wild format, except for mage, and to a lesser extent demon hunter and hunter, the new cards actually have a huge impact, improved a lot of old decks or created new ones, and revived some cards that had been forgotten for a long time.
But I can see how infuriating this must be for standard format players, powercreep has gone too far, it doesn't matter for Wild where everything is pure non sense at maximum power, powercreep has no meaning there, but standard is supposed to be balanced, and when I see the standard druid package for example, it's just ridiculous how many insane cards they are able to fit into multiple archetypes.
Denathrius being good not only in druid decks but also in imp warlock was a good surprise as well for me, because I strongly believed that he was a druid card disguised as neutral, I was wrong, it's a dual class card.
I played a few games in standard as well just to see how things go, I don't understand why people complain about skeleton mage ? It's a terrible archetype overall, the only reason I win games with it is because half of the deck is hero power mage. The skeleton archetype is atrociously bad, not enough synergy and awful pay off legendary. The location is good on its own for sure, especially with the 4 mana 4/5 that discovers a copy of a card in your deck, and the 4 mana card that gives 4 armor and 2 skeletons is ok, but they don't make the archetype good, they just help hero power mage survive better against aggro. The 6 mana board clear is nearly unplayable and the skeleton itself is a bad 2 mana card.
Anima Extractor has to be my favorite card so far, together with charge (the card) and Remornia / Olgra they make a crazy OTK and bringing back Grim Patron to life feels so good.

It’d be interesting to see a nerf to guff. Because I’d argue that the only thing that makes the new mage any good is the hero card there also. Idk, I can’t imagine a guff nerf though, just to iconic to the class being that Druid is all about mana.

I have heard awesome things about duels so far. Just haven’t dived in yet myself.
as far as same decks. I haven’t seen that yet. Currently sitting D3 from B10 yesterday and the only deck I’ve seen lots of repeats of is mage.
I still haven’t played a Paladin, secret rogue, and many others.

Literally 8 out of 10 druid cards are insane, only the 2 big spells are pretty bad, and Denathrius and Kael'thas are essentially druid cards, they got the most love from this expansion by far, the way Kael'thas Sinstrider can abuse Oracle of Elune and Brann Bronzebeard is absurd, Topior is also ridiculous in a full nature deck. I win many games with Guff at the bottom of my deck, the new 4 mana ramp card easily makes up for it.
Also Guff at 10 mana would still be a playable card so if people expect a change you should start asking for a ban not a nerf.
druid: if you’re that upset about Druid then play an agro deck. It’s that simple…
Go ahead try to beat my Topior deck with aggro, good luck. You might have a better chance against Kael'thas deck, but if I get to 9 mana you're dead, and I have 3 insane ramp cards to get there before turn 9. Alignment druid is old school stuff it's not worth it anymore (in standard).
Druid and warlock got the best cards this expansion. We knew going into this that they would be strong simply because of widowbloom and catastrophe. Those two cards alone can make janky decks functional because they are simply unconditionally good.
the game is very fun right now. but there are still things that have to be looked at. Alignment should preferably be deleted and cards like snowfall guardian and the stupid shaman bird should be nerfed into the ground. not because they're op, but because they literally end the game for one of two players which is terrible.
we need to take a moment to post how amazing this expansion is, alot of variety on the ladder and every class can climb, wish the woke mob would stop crying for nerfs every time

I don’t agree with snowfall. It’s oppressive, but can be played around. Silence destroys it. Board clears.
alignment is interesting though. i don’t know what to do with that card. Really no idea haha.
I haven't changed a single card and continue playing Beast Hunter / Quest Hunter / Quest Priest. Actually, because no Nathria card makes these decks stronger.
So yeah, awesome expansion. Haven't crafted a single legendary yet, cause, well, there is no need to.

That really surprises me. I have been seeing a ton of new cards. Can you really hold up against druid and warlock?

I love the expansion and then remember Guff, Alignment and the Hunter Questline still exist.

When new expansion hype calms down I think quest Hunter going to come back and be stronger then ever. That’s my prediction for when things mellow out.

I just uninstaled after years of enjoying this game because of this expansion
remove Guff and I’ll be a very happy camper
we need to take a moment to post how amazing this expansion is, alot of variety on the ladder and every class can climb, wish the woke mob would stop crying for nerfs every time
Haha what? Why? Compared to any of the previous expansions? The entire last expansion was based almost entirely on luck. Did you not watch any of GM?
I don’t agree with snowfall. It’s oppressive, but can be played around. Silence destroys it. Board clears.
alignment is interesting though. i don’t know what to do with that card. Really no idea haha.
how come no all the warlock druid mage complaint but hear nothing about hunter cheating Krush into Secret Double Revive Krush
