This might be the strongest turn 2 I've ever faced. I tried to think of a way to counter this (with every class), but didn't find one. So my question is, do you think Illuminate is the strongest card of this deck and should it be nerfed?
I have posted about this the same post, look for "Rez priest" name of thread in recent forums. And yes it should, looks like it happens more than it should.
Since they started banning cards with warlock questline, I don't get why they don't keep doing it. It wasn't even that oppressive of a card, compared to Guff, Open the waygate, Illuminate, and shit like that. You still had to complete the 3 quests then play a vanilla 5 mana 7/7, and only then play other cards to win the game, it's a lot slower than some of the degenerates archetypes in the format.
I was against it at first but I think that's actually a very elegant solution to balance the Wild format. Just ban the problematic cards for a year or two. Then, bring them back, and ban another group of problematic cards for a year or two, keeps things fresh and doesn't kill the cards forever, and they don't get nerfed to be forever forgotten/dusted.
Also op you must not be playing for very long, I have faced way crazier turn 2 in my life, even years ago. Sometimes the stars align but this isn't that crazy they just got lucky illuminate into shadow essence, it's not a rare occurence.
Yes a ban has the major advantage that it doesn't interact with the standard format and I also think it should be applied more and it's definitely worthy subject for discussion. For me personally with this card in particular it would be a bit double since I really like the synergy with Handmaiden, which is one of my favorite priest cards and there aren't a lot of cheap always playable priest spells.
I would say my top 3 turn 2 high roll decks are the Jerry Rig Carpenter bug, the Gibberling deck and the 1 turn OTK with pre nerf Kael'thas Sunstrider but before that I indeed didn't play that much.
I feel like they could just change Grey Sage Parrot to 6 or more instead of 5, then it can't recast Time Warp but still fulfills the same role in big spell decks

This seems even better than banning it, there are few 5 mana spells that are maybe good/fun to recast but seems like best bet.

I have been OTK from 40 on turn 3 with Neptulon.

Nah it should be banned not nerfed to oblivion.

I love the Priest class the most, even played it exclusively until recently, but this kind of Res Priest archetype is horrible.

it should be banned as the warlock cards were banned.
And parrot in mage should be banned as well in wild. Having no turn is not interactive in my books
