Let's better explain. I personally believe one of the absolute worst meta there ever was the Witchwood one, with all the Baku and Genn decks that run wild everywhere. I used to instaconcede for example as soon as I saw a paladin opponent, followed by the Baku animation, for how much I hated that deck's playstile. All the other Baku/Genn decks were though equally predictable and this led to an overly extreme rock/scissor/paper meta where you didn't even need the opponent to make its initial move. You already knew, right from the animation, how it was gonna play out.
Now with Renatal I'm starting to have the same horrible sensations!
If it's a warlock it's a curse warlock.
If it's a hunter it's a quest (w/secrets) hunter
If it's a warrior it's a quest warrior
If it's druid it's prestor druid.
If it's priest it's quest priest.
If it's rogue it's burgle rogue.
And all with unbelievably tight decklists. I really thought this new card could open up new horizons but it turns out the community has already fully figured it out and sucked out any molecule of possible creativity out of it.
Well, that's just because all the decks that have him in there are the most popular deck for that class, so it's pretty much expected. Thing about Renathal is he'll stick in the meta for as long as he's around, and he's nowhere near as toxic as Genn or Baku were. I mean, I was able to predict what my opponent was playing 90% of the time anyways before Renathal, so there's really no difference now lol it's just how ranked has always been.

I mean it did, didn't it? Every other card in Prestor Druid existed before him and the deck was nothing more than a meme at the time, Renathal made it work. Quest Priest has been terrible for ages, at least Renathal makes it somewhat okay. He's really helped shape a healthier meta and made Lady Prestor who's been a joke for over a year a competitive card.
I think adding a second option to every class is more or less a doubling of your horizon (no?). If the class only has one viable deck, it's the same right? I do agree that it takes some of the surprise factor, but quests are much worse. I also think that having 40 cards makes it harder for me to know what they have in hand, which helps.
I see plenty of decks without him, and I see many decks with him that are not the decks you listed such as ramp Druid, beast hunter, control warrior, pirate rogue, and deathrattle priest. I don’t think this is comparable to the situation with Glenn/Baku.
when Renathal revealed, one dude in the comments of this site said "this will be a auto-include in all decks" and he got downvoted to hell lmao.
I thought the same, but people thought only certain archetypes would want a "less consistent deck"
I cant help but laugh and think about his massively downvoted comment everytime I play ladder and every single opponent is a Renathal deck :D
You may be seeing a lot of Renothal because it's still the new toy, but that doesn't mean it's wise to put him in every deck. Are all these decks beating you? If so, that's more a reflection on you, not the power of the card. If, on the other hand, you are seeing people just jamming Renothal into a deck where he doesn't belong and you are able to defeat them pretty easily, well, you've just proved the downvoters' point.

Personally, my favorite meta was the witchwood - boomsday meta, partially because Baku and Genn were and still are my favorite cards, and partially because it had some of the most meta variety I've ever seen in an HS meta. You could make almost anything viable as long as you worked on it. (And for people who say that odd or even decks were dominant, while they were strong, they were not the only thing you had the ability to play. I made good winrates with taunt rez druid, or even a few quest decks). Part of the reason that variety worked was because you might encounter any type of deck, so you couldn't just "solve" the meta.
If you don't like Renathal, at least let it stick out the time it would normally be in standard, instead of trying to get this fun thrown away as well at the first opportunity. It's slowed down the meta a good bit and made the game more enjoyable.
Am I the only one experiencing this?
