I honestly think it might be one of the worst we've ever seen. A lot of card reveals are just scheduled poorly and it's either disappointing, confusing, or downright frustrating.
Some examples:
The entire Relic situation for Demon Hunter. How do you expect us to understand what a card does without context. I'm obviously talking about the demon hunter location Relic Vault which was revealed without knowing what relics are and what they do.
The same happens with the Rogue secret archetype. We've seen them reveal Ghastly Gravedigger without revealing any new secrets and while having none currently in standard. This can obviously lead to confusion, especially among new players.
More of a nitpick, but revealing the Shaman legendary The Stonewright before revealing any other totem Shaman support cards is kinda annoying. It removes the anticipation from the big payoff card that ties the archetype together. Revealing other totem support cards and in the end, the legendary would've lead to a better "reveal experience".
And I know it happens a lot, but the last-minute balance changes are also a thing. Unlike recent expansions, this reveal season has had many cards changed after they were revealed. Cards like Deathborne, Elitist Snob, Convoke the Spirits and more had been changed right after getting revealed, making it confusing to players who might find two different versions of the same card online, not knowing which is the right one.
But these are just my thoughts, what do you think?
There's a certain promotional logic to revealing "hey there's gonna be rogue secrets!" or "hey relics!" without revealing what they are, but I think it's dumb. It just makes me go "oh, I guess that's gonna be a thing" and forget about it. Doesn't really build hype for me anyway. I kinda liked how they revealed the mage skeletons honestly. That seems... better. Doing a bunch of videos showcasing multiple classes rather than just piece meal giving us cards.
I'm disappointed but not because of the schedule or the nerfs.
It's just all over the place with meme Legendary cards, new packages that won't be supported in future expansions or that break class identity, weird tech cards and rng.
I hope the last dump of common cards will be better. So far it is my least reveal season since.. well, closed beta. TGT was trash but we were actually hyped during the reveal season.
There's about 5 cards I really want to play, Renathal which is already in game, Remornia cause it's fun and strong, Nightshade bud in Wild with choose one quest cause otherwise it's trash, solid alibi cause mitigation is always fun for me, ghastly gravedigger cause it can shut down degenerate wild decks, and tome tempering for the experimentation season, until someone figures out some disgusting meta combo and it's not fun anymore.
The only real issue I have is with the relics because we didn't know what they are, how they work, etc.
Gravedigger for me was just like Blackjack Stunner. It just needs a secret and not some specific synergy. Granted, not having rogue secrets in standard with that card is dumb.
Similar with the Stonewright: we know what totems are, shaman has it as HP, etc. So it's a flat buff and no further interaction.
Would the hype work better if revealed the other way around? Yeah, probably. But for me revealing the relic location without context was worse as well as the last minute changes.
I mean are they really updating the cards five minutes before reveal? Why not compare the current versions to those that were sent out and give them a heads up if not a new release package with the updated version?
I'm aware that not all content creators can change their reveal videos on the fly, but it feels worse if the card is revealed only to receive a "JK here is the actual version" update on twitter.
IMHO the whole card reveal is always a big tohuwabohu that can and should be ignored until all cards are revealed. You literally miss nothing and only gain confusion, false hope, wrong stats in the cards etc etc. Of course as an enthusiast this is hard and I fail at that too, but then again, that is my fault and I would only blame me.
I think this release cycle is deceptive, which is the theme of this set. You don't know the full answer, so you're left wondering. Isn't that what this set is all about? Guess work?
You're on a game forum. What do you expect people to talk about? Do they have to be in big distress in order to share their thoughts on what's going on?
Also, If you want to discuss card fonts, then this site is also the perfect place for that. I'm sure that you can find a better font or design for the cards. We won't call you anything or bitch about your taste if you bring it up at least.
Just so I'm clear, I'm not pointing fingers to anyone on the Hearthstone development team, I'm just releasing some steam. Reveal season was always a fun interaction between the devs and the community and my point was that it's been a bit weaker this time, that's all. Maybe the rest of the reveals will change my mind.
I'm gonna be charitable and say that the reveal schedule was structured deliberately to evoke a murder mystery - you get some clues but don't appreciate their significance until all the pieces fall into place.
Who cares. You’ll get to play everything August 2nd shut up and sit back and enjoy the reveals that will get you hype for what’s to come instead of just wanting everything to be handed to you

Eh, balance changes don't really matter. Mistakes happen.

making an ironclad opinion on a card without the full set for context was your first mistake of analysis.
Guess the Hearthstone team is human too?
Do you like Hearthstone? Come watch Tavern Lads!
Wow, now we have a problem with card reveals!
What is next?
Why is used xy font on card description?

Team 5 making sure to lower the quality of everything. Client, cards, balance.

I just don't like that some class still have nearly 0 cards revealed and some have all of their cards
