I understand some players like long lasting, deep, strategic games. I totally respect that, and with that in mind, 40 hp is a blessing.
But on the other hand, a lot of us play while in the gym, watching TV, or in bus. Playing more than half of the games against 40 hp warlocks, warriors, priests... That not only have 40 hp, but also life steal, armour or healing, is impossible to afford.
I have reached legend a few times, but this month I have to surrender half of my games as I don't have time to finish them. I would requiere double the hours I spend every month to reach, so suddenly they are going to have less players at higher levels and so less rewards.
I have nothing against 40 hp, but make its separate game mode, so everyone can find his spot.
I miss when I could play the games in my spare time
If you want shorter games that you can play during a commercial break or in between sets at the gym, go play another game. Hearthstone has never purported to be that game.
I play since beta, it looks like you don't. Hearthstone always had a seat for every play style, as face Hunter existed since the beginning. You could face a long game from time to time, it is fine, but not ninety percent of the games.
40 cards is very enough, getting 40 hp is unfair and having more cards doesn't seem like a drawback when combined with +health
Just imagine a card "You start game with +10 health", who would run this card? Everyone.
How much decks would run Prince with "drawback" mentioned above? Well, the result is on the screen: https://hsreplay.net/cards/#sortBy=includedPopularity . 43.7% popularity. This is even more broken the Baku&Genn.

Dude, who here doesnt play since beta???? They won't change a thing just to make a minority happy, this is just a game, if you don't want to play against a 40 deck just give up and look for another opponent.
Well, if all you want is to reach legend for the rewards, there is always classic mode. Only your highest rank counts, so you could try reaching legend there before switching to your normal mode. Otherwise, wait for standard to rotate to your preferred speed, guess? I personally have been waiting for a slower standard meta for quite some time now.
Just no, I came back to the game because of the 40 health and 40 cards addition because I don't want mindless agro games, I am so happy with this addition, been enjoying the game again. go play something else. I am enjoying and cherishing every moment destroying agro. :)
but on a side note:
the mage deck with 30 cards seems perfect as well, ping mage been doing really well with it and games don't last long even against 40 hp decks give that a spin :).
Why not play something like Mine Rogue then? Or Demon Hunter? There are plenty of decks that force short games if that's what you want. Conceding when you no longer have a significant chance of winning is perfectly normal, you don't have to play out losing games just because your opponent can't finish you off immediately.
I feel bad for the OP cause although I do like the 40/40, I’m a control player, but they have been strongly supporting fast 5-7 turn games for years. So I can understand the reaction. That being said I’ve been annoyed for a while that every time they print a 7-10 cost minion it was almost exclusively used in Druid cause many other classes can’t/don’t play games that get to that point.
There have always been people who create decks that force long games. It's a more widespread trend right now because people are playing with the new toy.
But let's be real. If you're playing at the gym or on the bus, you're not the most competitive player. I'm not saying you don't win sometimes, but it's not like you're taking the game seriously. So why should the game take you seriously?

Well if you're looking to play 4 minute games just go contribute to the Pirate Rogue problem in Wild, you'll have no problem going through 40 health on turn 5.
I don't get OP's problem. If you play a fast aggro deck (say Murloc Shaman) vs a Renathal deck then the game should still last 5-10 minutes. By turn 5-6 you should have either killed them or know that you are going to lose whereupon you can concede and move on.

The bonus hp addition will be removed.
Playing hs at gym....lmao

For someone who played since beta, like myself, you of all people know games right now last between 3 and 15 minutes, even with 40 card decks and HPs.
There's nothing like the 45+ minute games of chess or dare I say it tying the match due to hitting the turn limit!
I also play at the gym and have no problem fitting in matches.
Maybe if you struggle instead of trying g to focus on two separate things, focus on why you're at the gym and I'm guessing it's not to play HS.
There's problems with the game right now for sure but it's not the length of matches lol.

Ehh.. bad take, man. I'm glad control is finally being pushed in a cool and interesting way.

Play "Marvel Snap" - 6 turns, games last 3-7 minutes on average.

The only time I play HS these days is on the elliptical, idk why this would be a weird thing.
LOL, next salt topic will be: I play HS during sex, 40 cards makes this game last too long while I last only in 5 minutes
something about this post seems like a troll, but... i know it's not, LOL.
So, you play while you are at the gym? Lol.. you better grap those dumbbells and start training instead of playing :-)))
