To OP, One of my favourite games was waiting patiently till my Control Warrior opponent had three cards in hand and 1 card in deck to play the three-cost lazul and taking for myself a second Elysania. I love long games and Renethal makes them possible in the day of Raza hunter and other hyper-aggro decks
I got D4 in one day playing only Renathal Reno Rogue and had a blast. Rather than asking for shorter games, try winning more, you'll climb faster that way.

Theres something more depressing, playing a 2 min game because your opponent plays an extreme aggro
Had a feeling we’d see the face deck players whining pretty quickly, but this is record setting for my expectations 🤣 That extra 10 life is wonderful, I hope they add this card to base set to evergreen it forever

I like the prince, but: the aggro/face hate here is just not appropriate. We need aggro in the game. The prince won’t delete aggro since he isn’t that great of a card (40 cards suck), but a pure control meta isn’t something to ever hope for, because it’s a) a whale meta, b) long games are fine but not every game (max half of them), c) Aggro decks can be fun and challenging too and d) aggro players life matters too
I only played the Tavern Brawl but I think it's incredible just in general. Not only do you have more Health so you have a bit more time before you might still die to more competitive decks but also the additional cards allow for more consistent early game without the need to sacrifice some cool end game cards. It is amazing for every casual player just having a fun time.
Sadly that also means it's terrible for more competitive focused people like you. That's why I'm rather surprised they actually made this card. It's very polarizing and you would rather think that a different mode might be better. But I guess they still try to appease to everyone while still trying to keep everyone together because it's kind of important in a multiplayer online game. I for one though still think considering how big the player base is that this really isn't necessary. And even in general I think it's not that important.
What I would love to see instead would be a ton of cards with effects like that on a "passive" card that's not part of the main/actual deck. So just for "customization". That coupled with a "custom game mode" to use these and at best also proper social features to meet up with people to play with would be my dream.
But for now Prince Renathal has actually sparked my interest in the game again. And it's very sad that this has to go at the expense of people like you. I think it doesn't need to be this way, but... alas, that's just how it is... for now.

You realize that this would probably only hurt yourself, do you? In a well-balanced game, there's aggro, combo, midrange and control, where on average aggro beats combo, combo beats control and control beats aggro, whereas midrange is decent against all. So what happens, when all aggro players quit the game? A full-on combo meta. So suddenly everyone would play cancerous stuff like Curse Warlock, Boar Priest, Celestial Druid. Yeah, fun.

+10 health won't destroy aggro, it just keeps them in check. Try wild, you blink and already lost the game to aggro.

I really feel like you should get more stars for winning a long game, but does that mean you should lose more for losing a long game? I dunno.
