I play HS since the Beta, and honestly was thinking to quit lately. I reached Legend every month since they changed the laddering system (Standard), but it needs time to reach it every time. And Renathal makes things worse.
Playing against control decks and some ppl roping you every turn makes games too long. And with the addition of Renathal most games can last 30% longer.
It takes too much time.
They might add some crazy powerful cards next expansion making 40 health disappear, but right now games are too long.
I do. I added Prince to my quest priest deck and played 3 games this morning totalling in about 1hr. Yes, those are long but I won all 3 and I had great fun playing the deck. Fun fact, addition of Renathal gave me the edge to win vs Curse Warlock which was close to unwinnable before. Probably because he also played with Prince and diluted his deck enough to not being able to spam curses.
Thats good thing. if games are long, that means they are interesting and both players had their chance to win.
I will rather play one game that last for one hour in which i play all my cards, think about every move and try to out smart oponent that playing 6 10 min games against aggro that i will loose cause i didnt have board clears or i just had them and they lost.
There really are people in this world complaining about how long Hearthstone games got?!? I mean, seriously?!? Want 6-min games? Go checkout Marvel Snap!, I heard it may suit you...

That doesn't mean games are interesting for both players. It means that deck whose goal in a matchup was to survive long enough succeeded. If a game was short, it was "interesting" for a faster deck's pilot, if it was long, it was "interesting" for a slower deck's pilot.

I mean reaching legend is literally pointless once you have the card back already unless you're trying to earn blizzard points. It'd be better if the ranking system was reworked a bit so that it's more fun rather than a grind that will inevitably get you there.

That is objectively wrong since reaching legend gives you packs and stars to climb faster next month (so a reward + faster rewards)
About the topic!
40 health is going to be a necessity as cards get stronger. UiS had several cards that had outgrown the work frame of the game. We can now draw our decks consistently by turn 8 and we can burst 30+ damage with 5/6 cards in 1 turn. You've been on this site. You know the rants about power creep. Damage from hand got too strong, so now we got insane board development which will need some insane removal tools, which will make OTK too strong etc.
I've also played since beta. Classic-TgT games were pretty short, then the value and removal got insane. We got infinite card decks and combos that could create 30+ minutes of animation time. For a year we've had to old 5-10 minute games, now I think we will end somewhere in between with some games taking 20 minutes but most will still be rather brief.
I remember I use to enjoy playing against controll warrior with Dr. Boom, Mad Genius and Archivist Elysiana. Playing one 30 minute game per day was more satisfying than playing 5 minute games against aggro.
Too long? What have you been smoking. The only way you'll ever have a long game in current Hearthstone is like Control Warrior vs. Holy Paladin, and even that will never reach 30 minutes, not even close, unless both players are roping. If you want short games you can play aggro and you won't ever have a long game.
And Renathal won't make games longer. 40 cards means more inconsistent draws which means you'll also be taking more damage.

If aggro players start conceding when running into Renathal decks we might have a problem (actually not, I'm quite sure all control players will be happy) but aggro matchups are short-timed anyway. They just run out of steam and concede or kill you before you are able to stabilize. Those games can be fun.
Aggro players can stay mad going face every turn is so brainless 20 minute games aren’t shit lucky you weren’t here for the fatigue warrior decks they would have 45-60 minute games and would sometimes result in ties

Who has 20-30 minutes to play one single game?
Who wants to lose in turn 5 against mech mage perfect curving minions that they get by RNG - AND - Even if you survive you still lose to 4 mech legos generate with cost reduc?
i mean i have the time to play 15 mins matches, sometimes 20. And i work. Its funny to me because you probably said this because you are kindof a busy person just like me but you enjoy quick matches, which i respect btw. But i am pretty sure that there is a lot of random players mad because 1 or 4 matches last too long. Usually you will win against the 40 card deck with your consistent 30 card deck almost every time in less than 12 turns.

Make a count how many games you need to reach Legend. And if you play 3 games / hour tell me how long will it take if you have lets say 58% win rate?
And btw 6 minute games can be interesting too, 20 minutes games are Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Seriously? You're complaining about too long games?! Please just quit HS and go play something else.
Also, that card is their way of testing a possible feature - having 40 life instead of 30.
Seriously, stop making this game a toilet time filler. The best times were in the beta and few expansions after launch.
The real problem here is people roping for nothing. Which can't be solved.
You want quick games? Ask for a major decrease in turn times, NOT in the number of turns needed to finish a game on average.

Yepp, too long.
Or did you answer my questeion:
Make a count how many games you need to reach Legend. And if you play 3 games / hour tell me how long will it take if you have lets say 58% win rate?
I have an idea for you, play games for fun rather than to climb a ladder. Longer games is a blessing for this game.
A blessing my a**.
I have 25 minute games.
Nothing fun in that.
Completely agree
Seems like you are only interested in what's fun for you. YOU may be unhappy but Renathal is the card we needed to keep this game fresh and fun.

Shit makes no sense to me. Just sounds like you play decks that don't have any decision making.
