To answer OP (Shipmen) question: No, I haven't played the game yet and probably never will. I didn't like Diablo 3 and this one looks very similar. Also, I'm too busy developing, playing and testing my own mobile games. :P
Well, soo.. I was really optimistic about this game. Waiting with my opinion until i hit higher lvl, see more stuff etc. Now i feel like a fool who wasted his time. It's just ANOTHER mobile game. Nothing to see here.

Yes nice example. This is called "sunk-cost fallacy". And it is one of the major issue of this game. I also was in, until I uninstalled the game. You realize, later in the game, that you can only progress with money because:
You can complete the campaign without spending. So, you can reach level 60, and you can do like 30+ hours of contents without spending
The developing system of the character is not intuitive at all, with like 23 different in-game currencies (therefore hardly a person starts to study it immediately when it is presented to him, at about the level 20/30, also because you don't need to know it in detail before level 60.)
When you reach this point, you are already involved in the game for your time used, and therefore, you are much more willing to open your wallet, because if you don't, you can't progress, and all the effort made was useless.
And once you start to open the wallet, you will always be involved in sunk costs, both in time and money. And therefore you will be willing to spend always more, until you will not realize that in order to develop one character it might cost you like a house. Regulation is required in these things, there is no regulation. And these are dangerous stuffs for people with addictions and minors.
I ended up playing this game after all the debate. It’s ok, mindless Diablo hack and slash. Incremental loot increase. Grindy as expected. But what really cracked me up was th ADHD level of achievements where new notifications of in the codex popped up just for taking two steps or killing a minion. I got to low to mid 30s level and got bored. If somebody is going to spend a crap ton of real money on this game then bless their hearts because there are much better options out there imo.
Fwiw I spend money on games if I’m into them. Have spent more than enough on HS this year and will prob buy the wild bundle being offered to me for no reason(don’t play wild) but no interest in even buying the battle pass on DI as it just wasn’t……fun
Anyway all this mess with Diablo Immortal send me to Path of Exile. We will have also the mobile version (with no pay-to-win) https://www.pathofexile.com/mobile
just wondering... you say its nearly impossible to die, nevertheless you claim "p2w". so they offer purchases to get even stronger, but actually you dont need to, because you "win" anyway as long as you dont want to compete with other swipers. which you dont need to if you dont like swiping.
Yes, it is nearly impossible to die because the game is very easy (it seems that they wanted to grab in it every people).
Anyway, up to level 60 you will realize that if you don't spend a lot of money you will not able to increase and to do anything competitive, but you will only be food for whales (Whales are people that spend a lot of money inside the games). That's the biggest issue with Diablo Immortal. It grabs in because it is free, and you don't need to spend until a certain level and after, you need to spend a lot of money. It is not a good game, it is rubbish/scam. And it should be illegal because it is an expensive casino. Do you want an idea about how expensive is? Check this simulator. https://dimi777.github.io/diablo-rift-simulator/
Try to see how much money you need for a 5 stars/5 stars gem. Well, you need 6 (all different). And whales have them. Because there are crazy people. Then you have also to upgrade these gems, and need duplicates. I don't want to check how many duplicates, but it is an astonishing sum.
okay im level 60 and paragon level 38 now. i bought the battlepass and a one-time dungeon pack offer because i liked the game. so now i have like 1% more power, so id say similarly to f2p power. and there was until now no paywall. in this thread alot of people say at 60 you cant increase your power without spending wtf? of course there are whales who can have much more power, but a) i dont need to compete with them and b) i increased my power without spending since level 60... only thing i dislike is the "awakening" feature which is only possible with payed orbs, but hey thats like a payed skin with 2% more power i dont care, i dont have to compete with those. and i get my leaderboard rewards from everything, although people claim its impossible to get leaderboard rewards without paying xD... im something like rank 50 in challengerifts, rank 80 in pvp.. and massive rewards yesterday for the cicle of strife although i will never be "the immortal". i like the game. sure it can be repetitive, dungeons, bounties, but im looking forward to next content patches :)
@Shjuh we have a very different opinion about what is a good game. A good game for me is a game in which all players are equal and only skill matter. If you can buy gear in order to piss in the head of the other player is a crap game. It is crap because every activity that you can do become worthless. What's the point to do quests, dungeons bounties and farm gear when every noob can spend 100K and piss you in the head. The final scope of Diablo Immortal at the end is to become stronger, which is pointless because a whale would always be stronger than you. Skill is not required. It is a crap, stupid random casino P2W.
I wish this game all possible harm. Blizzard wanted to scam his customers with this crap and this thing need to be stopped now in order to not see this disease P2W in video game any more.
I'm not sure why people are surprised when blizzard has always been the greediest cash shop company out there lol. It's ridiculous enough in hearthstone, particularly in BGs, where people buy tons of cosmetics because of FOMO and blizzard knows all too well how to prey on people who just can't resist anything shiny.
In BGs you can pay £3.99 for a.. playing board? Like who the heck even notices what board they're playing on? But people buy it because it's an option in the shop. Not to mention every hero has like 5 skins and you can pay to change your hit animation which lasts all of 2 seconds in game. If blizzard can find a way to monetize anything, they will, because people get sucked into buying ingame things so easily.
Blizzard promised that it was not possible to buy gear! (4 months before the release) And then they negate everything behind semantic. These guys are really scammers.
I had some good fun playing recently. It's a very good phone game! Like best phone game I've played maybe. Is it better than a real PC ARPG? Nah, but close enough to be some easy access fun.
I always waste too much time trying to figure out a build that I don't have the patience to make. Here you just start. The story telling is surprisingly good despite the instant savior of the world nomination and super child friendly walkthrough for EVERY objective.
I think this is one of those games that you should just enjoy as a quick Hack n slash solo game, unless you really dig the competitive play. The game is very nicely designed to eat a lot of money. I already feel tempted to buy the 1€ shit just for seeing a shiny treasure. Personally I'd rather have the solo content get harder than farming pvp relevance, at least in this game for now. I also think the game is generally too easy, I try to fight crazier to balance it.
The excuse here is probably that of Mercs. They make a game supposed to be completed over years where those without patience can buy an overpriced booster. But this boost seems mysteriously necessary for PvP and in reality, people rush through the solo content in a few days and find themselves stuck in a very expensive PvP game with a n extra grindy repeat- dungeon/bounty mode that they can farm to forget that the game is actually over.
I mean, the pre-release stuff on Diablo 4 looks promising as hell, like Blizzard finally got the message on D3 (that being that Path of Exile was the real D3, not Blizzard's cartoon monstrosity with an auction house slapped on top).
You've gotta hope that Diablo Immortal fails, just to discourage Acti/Bliz from pulling all sorts of pay2win shit with D4. Seriously, the aesthetics, style and physics look amazing. Hopefully they don't fuck it up through greed.
For me, there is no way. Blizzard has forever lost my trust. There is no way that I can trust Diablo 4 or this company of scammers.
And by the way, Blizzard was hiring a product manager for Diablo 4. With the aim to manage the in-game store. So my expectation are below 0. It is clear that Blizzard wants a P2W Diablo. They did some declaration about it, but as we learned with Diablo Immortal, everything can be retracted by Blizzard with semantics.

Blizz is offering a nice game, play it or not
The whole point of this thread is people talking about why they "play it or not."
Nice games do not contain gacha systems and other predatory microtranctions. That's why you're seeing a lot of "not."

:) LOL.
They are telling you that because people are "spooning". :)
Jesus, what a discomfort this game has turned out to be.
Thread title should be changed to:
Have you tried Diablo Immoral?
That is the game's real name. :P
LMAO! Nice! :)

Yep, it looks awesome!
At least they seem to be testing D4 properly. Yet the difficulty is shit, at least in the video. Nothing special nor challenging
